Nardi's tavern where do i even begin? Didnt expect much heading over to nardis but damn was i dissapointed. First off if your not a local expect to be disrespected by the po dunk townie staff, i think they forget who enables these peasants to stay in business. Band was meh but too loud, like every other bar with a live band. Expect to pay a cover charge that will partially go to reinforcing the delusion of whatever garage band that is playing that night, that they can play in a shitty band at nardis tavern instead of getting a real job. .Beers were a bit overpriced and took a while to get, bartenders were sloppy 6/10s, maybe get prettier bartenders and you might sell more! Clientel seemed to be a bunch of 21 year olds dancing around like drunk toddlers that broke into the whiskey cabinet. Then again thats the exact people that i would expect to find at a place like this. Last and final criticism, place just looked weird. The back wall had refrigerator doors with beer in them like the place was a 7eleven of small market and they converted it to a bar. In closing i think the owner should contact jon taffer to save the bar, but than again i think lbi would be better off just letting this one die read more

I unfortunately had to give only two stars because the shuttles this bar offers were supposed to pick us up TWICE but instead drove past us and never came back. We waited for over an hour which was very disappointing and ended up getting an uber. Once we got to the bar it was definitely a fun, hoppin' spot but the $25 cover charge is a bit ridiculous. I would go back but never on a night with a cover charge and certainly not on a night providing shuttles. read more

DO NOT EAT HERE! Literally just left after waiting for our food after an hour and twenty minutes! Staff was not apologetic. Still charged us for drinks - we would not have ordered a second round if our food had come in a timely manner. Place was not crowded. People that sat minutes before us - ordered, ate, and left in the time it took us to even get a manager to come out. Very rude. Horrible experience. Worst way to spend an afternoon on a holiday weekend. Worst part - we had heard good things and we're looking forward to a solid lunch. Will never go to Nardi's again. read more

Called before arriving on Saturday and they said they'd charge a cover after 9pm. Arrived at 8:50 and the people in front of my group and i were having ID issues so we had to wait 5 minutes. Saw the guy taking the cover and he charged us $10 cover because 'the band was there,' which was bullshit. We go in and get a few drinks and the band doesn't start until after 10:30. read more

With an hour left till close on a Saturday night, the manager wanted to charge 5 of us $10 a piece get in for a drink. The manager then had the nerve to approach my girlfriends and I in the parking lot as we were waiting for Uber to "bargain" charging 3 of the 5 to allow us in. We are HS friends in our mid 50's.... not the partying trouble making type. The customer service in this instance was unacceptable and appalling. When I saw the magenta party bus in front of this dive bar, I knew I may have found "the one" in LBI for the week. Complete with barf buckets, the bus parked in front of Nardi's may be your vehicle to paradise. I first entered on like a Sunday night, just a drive-by to see what it was all about. There were tons of people there, and I saw some hipster guys with glasses- SCORE. I rode my bike a day or two later and got there around 4 pm. I was treated to Miller High Life at happy hour prices and free pizza (WERD). A real local's bar, there were no tourists and I was the only other woman there. The rest were guys talking shit about work. I noticed the mural on the wall of like Patti Smith, James Dean, Elvis...and started to wonder about this place... On Wednesday we decided to hit it up-there was a 5 buck cover charge to see the cover band (what??) and the beers shot up to like 5 bucks for an Amstel Light! There were bouncers everywhere, all the bartenders were men, a very different scene. There were tons of MILFs and their gold-chained menmeat. The cover band had a small corner stage and it was so packed one could barely move, although I did get to find out where an awesome Garfield t-shirt had been bought. After not being able to cover Guns n Roses or Talking Heads, or anything not for the masses, my brother and I jetted out of there. My last day on the island, I stopped by for more happy hour beer and pizza on my bike ride back, and found it more to my liking again. Tourists ruin everything! AND I got to play a hunting game like my beloved BuckHunt in TC's Lounge in Boston. This place is it...maybe just not at night... read more

I am going to take this in another direction. Yes, Nardi's a Shore bar. Yes, people can skew older....but if you rent nearby and want to grab quick pizza for the backyard party, Nardi's is surprisingly very good. The specialty pizzas knocked people's socks off. We expected nothing and got really good pies, particularly the Nardi's Special and the Fra Diavolo. If you are the one picking up the pies, tell your family it's ready in 5 minutes even though it will be 20. Go get a beer. Take a cousin. Get a breather....and enjoy. read more

Came here during the summer as a relative thought this place would be inviting for young children (smh). Hostess was slow to seat us and there were several locals glass eyed on their 8th cocktail. This reminded me of a time as a child and my parents would drag me to a loser bar as they got their drink on. Ordered a sandwich (chix parm) since it's virtually impossible to screw it up or get sick. Fries accompanied my sandwich which both were good. The bathrooms have a funk smell. As if there were hundreds of night life options to be had in Long Beach Island, I rate this place based on consistency of service as much as I do basic first impressions and such. Long story shorter, my buddy Jason has been coming here for years with his birthday bashes which alone serve to be entertainment for the entire island. The confidence it takes to have a bright pink bus pick up pre-partied punters who've previously partaken in powerfuil potions prepared pool-side at various other parties, gives Nardi's the badge of courage that can only be worn with a brightly flashing guitar and glowing sun pendant pinned on at previously mentioned party. Should you go? Hella yes. Should you stay? Perhaps only for a short while to assist the helpful hosts as they graciously grin at the fact that you all needed to come there to conclude your evening reaking havock on all the locals who were not again invited to the previously mentioned party. It's a great place to meet some Beach Haven inhabitants who are pretty much eventually likely to have their name appear on the marquee or to have a drink decorated with many umbrellas named for them! WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!...... not only was the food horrible but the service was worse! The service was terrible and when I asked to see the manager he was rude and looked psychotic. I was very frightened. The bathrooms were even more scary then the manager. They were so disgustingly dirty. The bouncers are horrible people and I don't understand how they are not fired yet. I wish every bar in LBI had service/staff like Nardi's! Bartenders are always friendly and actually seem happy that you're there! (how refreshing on this island!) Great happy hour specials! The menu is basic, but delicious! Very very reasonably priced. Breakfast might be my favorite. Best Bloody Mary's on the island. read more

The bouncers were completely inappropriate and we will never be back. Our group of 8 (all in our mid-20s) went on a Wednesday night and were met with a bouncer easily abusing his power. I was questioned ad nauseam about facts related to my driver's license (what's your zodiac sign, what's the capital of New York, what county are you from). This was excessive, but when he questioned whether my eye color was actually hazel as stated on my license and in fact turned to another employee to ask if she thought my eyes were green or hazel (seriously?!), we realized that the staff had no respect for us and we were determined to leave. Only after going through this ridiculous ID check process were we informed that there was a $5 cover for the band. Moreover, a member of our group inquired multiple times at the door if there was karaoke and was met with silence. Once we decided to leave and started heading back to the parking lot, they shouted that karaoke was only until 9pm (it was around 11 at this point). Staff were disrespectful and directly caused this establishment to lose eight paying customers, which appeared to be more than double the number of people already in the bar. My daughter and her friends came to this dump last week. In the group only one member was African-American. He vaped once, not knowing the rule against vaping in a restaurant, was told to stop and did so promptly, cooperatively, and respectfully. A short while later, the goons came over and aggressively ordered this young man to leave. He agreed willingly. He waited patiently for his tab and credit card, paid for his one drink, and purposely did not leave a tip due to the racist, disgusting behavior he encountered. (Another member of the group, a pretty white blonde woman was vaping as well, but was never told to stop, never told to leave, and in fact when she tried to defend her black friend and take responsibility, was told to shhhh and pushed aside). The bartender then proceeded to shame him by screaming at him that since it wasn't him that was throwing him out, he deserved a tip. The young African-American left without another word, or leaving the undeserved tip. This invoked the ire of the head goon even more, and while my daughter sat and watched him, he took the invoice and wrote in $20.00 in the space for a tip. This is criminal theft and I only wish my daughter and her friends had the presence of mind to call the police to report this as the illegal and criminal behavior that it is. Outside when my daughter let the young man know this happened, another friend (white) went back in to get the receipt and lo and behold it was conveniently lost in that short span of time. DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS ESTABLISHMENT. DO NOT CONDONE THIS BEHAVIOR. The owners will come back now and say it's a female run establishment and they have biracial children. As if that is an excuse to treat their black customers in a less than respectful way. I can only hope they go out of business so that they will learn that if you don't practice civility, you will suffer the consequences. read more

The only good thing about this place is the free bus transportation. $10 cover to listen to a sucky band play only Green Day/Blink 182 songs while 40-50 year old moms danced like sugar-infused children and middle aged men watched. The place is small and overcrowded, they'll let anyone in. The band singer cursed a lot while interacting with the crowd (I think he was trying to be funny), and changed words in songs to reference getting high (and made gestures of smoking a bowl). It was tastelessness and low class. I left less than 30 mins after entering. read more

I am only giving 1 star because I can't give zero. We are out of state for a family wedding and the rude white haired man at the door bent my ID in half to see if it was fake or not...It is not fake and when I questioned him he proceeded to tell me he needed another form of identification... so rude and they don't even have an ID scanner, nor did he apologize. Went to Nardi's for the first time two years ago, didn't care for the band so we left minutes after paying a cover to get in. Decided to give it a try again, this time for lunch and their Texas Burger was amazing. Great service also. Look forward to trying more things on the menu. read more

First time there... excellent bartender (maybe his name is Mike?). He was not only friendly and attentive but probably best bartender I've had in LBI. But really every bartender was SOOO friendly, which is not a given in LBI. The live band was fantastic and it was just the happy hour group! Nice fun place and food was good! read more

Absolutely god awful experience at this establishment. First off, the bouncers need to be fired. They are incredibly rude, use profanity, and completely talk down to anyone they come in contact with. The one bouncer, Paul, and some other juiced up clown at the door were the absolute worst. Its like they get off on being complete jerks. I would give this place an F rating. Every single staff member was absolutely miserable, slow, and rude. Never again am I walking into that sad excuse of a bar. We have been going to the Sunday afternoon happy hour for several years now. We bring a crowd of about 50 people each time . The band is great and gets everyone in the mood for a great time. The problem is the place itself. The service is downright disrespectful and rude. The security is surly and testosterone driven. The food is not fit for consumption. Overpriced cover for a mehh cover band that barely played all night. Overcrowded, but that's expected.

Fun place to go for a night out when on the island! Usually have live bands playing every night, and if not they have a DJ that takes requests. Usually a pretty happening place in July/August- even on the weekdays. Taking the Nardi bus is fun and free (although, you should tip the driver!) Only goes up to Division St. on the Surf City end. Bus can be a little rowdy on the way home, but that's all part of the experience! Fun, friendly, knowledgeable and attentive bar staff. Pretty decent food ... had a yummy cheesesteak and some good fries here. Average-priced drinks. Can't wait to try out happy hour this year! read more

After reading several of the previous posts, I am not surprised with my experience last night at this bar. I too was physically assaulted by the staff after only being in the establishment for approximately 20 minutes. My 56 year old father who just had knee surgery was thrown to the ground, breaking his foot to the point it may require surgery. I too was struck in the face. Police were called but the owner and police supervisor shared several laughs before we were told there was nothing to be done. Aside from the danger of being assaulted by the staff, very seedy crowd with an outrageous cover and poor bar tending staff. I would recommend The Marlin or Hudson house, I've been coming to the island for 20 years and have never had anything but fantastic experiences there! read more

"Twice now, Nardi's bouncers tried to rip us off - they are a bunch of THIEVES!!" I have been going to Nardi's for 25 years or so, and after a few years of not being on LBI, two years ago I told my daughter and friend to go. The bouncer took my daughter's friend's license from her, saying it was fake, which is was not. I called them ASAP and the bouncer told me to have her meet him around the corner and he could give it back to her. I drove her there, she got out to meet him, and he said he would give it back to her for $80. The next day, I called the manager and the police and no one did a thing. She had to pay to replace her license and we were upset. Fast forward to tonight. We decided to go in and try it again: my husband, daughter and I. We were all ID'd, and the girl at the door then took $5 cover charge from the young lady in front of us. One of the bouncers went up to the girl collecting the cover and whispered in her ear. My husband said' "How much," and she said $15. He said OK and handed her $15 for the 3 of us, and she said, "Each." He was like, "What????" The girl in front of me paid $5. I said, "This is absurd," and we left as she smirked at us. We called them from the car and asked the cover and were told, "5 to 10 dollars." Ha!!! I don't know if they charged us more to keep the old folks out, or to just put money in their pockets, but we will NEVER go there again. They must give their staff a test: are you a thief? If they say Yes, they are told, "You're hired!!!! Now go steal from the tourists." Shame on you, Nardis. You don't deserve success. read more

I really never thought I would even like a place Nardi's - kind of thought the pink bus was a little ridiculous but it's actually pretty awesome. For those of you who don't know, the bus will pick you up pretty much anywhere on the island after 9pm and then drop you off that night, too. Obviously, they are trying to get you in the door but they also make it an incredibly safe way to travel if you are planning on going out and having a few cold ones. During a week in LBI, my wife and I stopped in here a few times. It's a nice place - relatively new and everything is clean. They actually have very good happy hour specials - $2.50 for domestic light drafts. I believe happy hour only goes from 3-5, though. Some of the bartenders are better than others, but that's pretty much the case at any place. Never tried the food here but there were always people eating when we went and they have live entertainment. I actually do like Nardi's and I wouldn't hesitate to pop in here for a beer when I am back in LBI. read more
