Great little coffee shop in the Naples area! Narrative is located in the middle of the Mercato (opposite side of the Kilwin's). They had a very cute outdoor patio as well as quite a few tables and chairs inside. There were many people reading a book, working, or catching up with friends while enjoying their items. I love that they use their own coffee beans. I ended up ordering The Honeycomb Latte which was seasonal and recommended by our barista. It was light and so good! The vanilla cold foam was the perfect topping and I thought the Cherrio garnish was cute. My husband got the Masala Chai Tea Latte which was made from a concentrate but still had really nice flavor. This coffee shop definitely hit the spot for a midday boost and I'd certainly come back to enjoy more! read more

We just finished going to TWO different happy hours... started off with some fish sliders and chicken wings and one place and grabbed a couple dozen raw oysters at another place... after all that food wanted to go for a simple walk to decided to entertain ourselves at Mercato and then we stumbled across NARRATIVE COFFEE and I was very ready for a cup of coffee. We went in and the place is cute and cozy and more importantly it appeared very clean; and the girl behind the counter and the older lady helping were both so friendly and helpful with my selections. My only gripe was (sadly) I didn't really love the coffee but I would probably return to give them another shot just because I liked the staff, liked the cleanliness and liked the vibe. read more

I really wanted to love this place. My friend got the banana cream latte and loved it, it was super flavorful and definitely the spot if you want a banana-flavored coffee. I tried it and thought it was delicious, but way too sweet for me. Unfortunately they didn't have a sugar-free banana option. I ordered a sugar-free triple iced Americano instead. I'll be honest, it didn't taste very strong and felt a little diluted. The croissants were good though... not overly sweet and a nice size. Everything we got came out to about $25 total. I paid almost $13 for a totally stale Almond Croissant and a toy size cup of decaf cappuccino that took over 15 minutes to be made because one staff member was teaching another how to make it. Only when did I politely say that I needed to move on did she begrudgingly make it and then delivered it in a paper cup at the table instead of the usual porcelain one. Totally uncaring. I couldnt even be bothered to let them know that the croissant was stale as it had taken so long just to be served so I left it and walked out. I love Narrative!!! The speciality menu hooked me (forever a Banana Cream Latte addict), but I love their classics like the Cuban Café con Leche as well. They have a devotion to the craft of making great coffee; their apple cider cold brew at Halloween was unreal. Drinks like this are so unique and leave a mark! The atmosphere is also wonderful. From their Cuban coffee selections to matcha to their specialty seasonal menu, I'm always impressed by the drinks here - to the point I can no longer drink Starbucks coffee now (maybe that's a good thing!) They also have a good selection of bites - I've tried their breakfast turkey sausage sandwich, croissants, and the breakfast burritos and they are all great - but hands down the burritos are the way to go! I've also been here during the evening and ordered wine from their wine selection too and it was great to listen to some live music outside and enjoy a glass of wine while we waited for our dinner reservation. Not sure if it was the homemade lavender and vanilla syrup or the oat milk used but something just did not work with the coffee. There was also very limited breakfast options so we had to go elsewhere to get pastry or baked goods to complement the coffee. If anything maybe just get coffee with regular milk and skip the various homemade syrups. read more

The space is bright and airy with minimalistic vibes. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Great for working. The staff was friendly, helpful and patient with us, especially since we had a pretty big group (7). My group ordered four cinnamon honey oat milk lattes, a cold brew and a pastry. Narrative Coffee just dropped three new drinks in time for summer. We've been here a total of 6 times now and this was our second time trying these new drinks. I couldn't leave an unbiased review last time as I needed to try the drinks again to make sure they were good and oh man are they good! My wife always gets the Havana drink. Last time I got a pour over so no new drink order BUT I did get the Coldbrew lemonade and I have to say, it's robust, quirky and it had everything I liked about it! The Havana is sweet, strong and enticing! I think I can safely say that Narrative knows their coffee, knows their flavors and knows their brews, too. This is a cute coffee shop located in the Mercato shopping plaza. It is in a 1,300-square-foot space previously occupied by a Second Cup franchise location. Narrative is owned by Caleb MacPherson who started off his business as a wholesale coffee seller in Cape Coral. Caleb has worked in the coffee industry since 2010 and he moved to Fort Meyers from Canada. He started off roasting coffee has a hobby but in 2016 decided to make the leap to a full time business. The name Narrative refers to how the company wants you to know the story of how your single-origin coffees evolve from seed to cup. This is Narrative's first retail store. They offer their own cold brew, nitro cold brew, and a mobile espresso cart for events. The store has plenty of inside and outside seating for everyone who wants to work while getting a java boost. Outside are umbrella covered tables and couches while the inside has three floor to ceiling windows which lets in the natural light. It is very bright and cheery space, accented by greenery. You place your order inside at the counter and I requested a cappuccino, $4. The foam was nicely decorated and it was strong. It was exactly what I needed to power me back across Alligator Alley. The only slight disappointment was that it was served in a paper cup. I would have appreciated a real cup. Other than that I would definitely recommend them for your next caffeine fix. read more

I find that a lot of coffee spots have a tendency to focus more on "Instagrammy " drinks, but there is a clear focus here on quality coffee beans and brews. First off, loved the atmosphere and ambiance. Very modern interior and a relaxed setting. They are situated in a beautiful location. Great place to walk around before, during, or after your coffee. Ample seating too, so you don't have to worry about fending off caffeine deprived people of their seats! (Always a plus) The baristas were very friendly and knowledgeable. Knew their products well and clearly cared about craftsmanship. They provided a great recommendation for my friend, who isn't an avid coffee drinker. He felt very comfortable and welcomed. They temp the coffee and pour the shots right in front of you. It's always nice to be a part of this process. I had a black Mexican Honey Roasted Drip Coffee. I was given a full run down of the beans origin. That was really cool! The drip was very nice. Not overly acidic or bitter. Some subtle sweet notes from the honey. Very smooth. GREAT COFFEE & ATMOSPHERE! *heart eyes* I am so excited that there is a new coffee shop in Mercato finally! The grand opening yesterday, Friday, June 5th. There was a decent amount of people inside (socially distanced) that seemed to come in waves consistently. I wasn't sure of what to expect, but I told the barista that I usually order a caramel macchiato. They only had the flavor mocha today, so I had an iced mocha. Glad I tried out something new because it was delicious!! I talked to one of the baristas and Caleb (the founder, co-owner, and GM) who said that they are going to be getting lavender flavor next week as well as vanilla flavor in the future as well as introduce seasonal flavors. You can taste the difference in the flavor the this is high quality coffee and high quality syrup flavors. There is the option of regular whole milk or oat milk. This is definitely the place to go if you are a coffee person. The different selections of coffees here are described like you would describe a fine wine talking about the notes and flavor hues. If you are dead set on only getting your vanilla skinny latte and noting else, I would recommend going somewhere else. Come here with an open mind to trying something a little different than you might be used to. All the cups are served at the coffee bar without a lid, but there is a little station near the front door entrance that is stocked with lids, creamer, sweetners, and some toppings. For all my people who like their nitro cold brew or like their coffee black - this is your new place for some great coffee. The atmosphere is open and welcoming for everyone. Tasted odd like the espresso was mixed with soap or something. Temperature was slightly warm, perhaps rather than "being a hip barista" going by touch, use a thermometer instead.
