The California roll is my favorite I totally recommend it to those who have not tried it. Also try the pork gyoza if you have not.

Best sushi I've ever had. We came in 30 minutes before closing and the staff was still very kind and attentive. The restaurant was clean.

But for Landrum to have a decent Thai restaurant (and they have sushi) is a big deal. I'm reviewing 3 stars for now, did not get to try the sushi and other menu items. The restaurant is situated in the middle of the block set in the quaint, small downtown of Landrum. The sushi is prepared in the back, in an open sushi style traditional display, but no seating right there. The restaurant is clean, moderately bright, and the tables can be arranged for parties of 8, we were four. I did think the tables were a little too close together. During our meal, an adjacent four top was seated and while they were not disturbing us, the tiny waitress was bumping into me as she took their order or delivered food, enough so that I had to be aware of it so as to not accidentally wave an arm and knock a drink or plate from her hand. Our service was attentive. Pricing is reasonable for food, but I did think $14 for an 8 ounce hot sake was steep. I tried the Larb Gai level 6 and the presentation and arrangement of the dish made it easy to eat as lettuce wraps with crisp iceberg and the fresh flavors. It was well balanced and the right heat but slightly dry. A side container of a couple of additional tablespoons of the Thai dressing would be a good idea. My Tom Yum Soup entree size was ample enough for leftovers. It is very flavorful but on the sweet side comparatively to many other TY soups I've had. My protein choice was chicken and heat level 6 of 10. It seemed that everyone's dishes were slightly hotter than expected, even our friends who regularly order the same dishes felt that way. My 6 was more like an 8 and I'm a hot head eater. This often happens as variance in pepper heat in stir fry or in chef to chef variance in spice profile. I would suggest order lower and adjust up to your taste. We arrived early, 5:15 and left 7:15 and were not rushed. The restaurant was moderately busy as it was a Friday. I'm told reservations are recommended. 3 stars means "A-OK" and that is where this landed. No disappointments and also no stand out experiences, but we would dine here again.

We were allowed to sit anywhere, and we didn't wait long for a server. Wanting to try several dishes, we chose the pad thai, the ginger pepper beef, and the red curry with chicken. We also ordered some alcohol, my wife wanting to try a particular wine. A sample was brought, but it wasn't very good, it tasted as if the bottle was old, as if it had been opened multiple days ago. We commented on this to ourselves. My wife ordered a full glass of a different wine. Our server brought the entire bottle of that wine over to open it and pour it, in what I would describe as a purposeful but unnecessary gesture of showing that it was a fresh bottle. My wife made a comment about the type of corkscrew she tended to prefer while the server was pulling the cork, and the server's response came across as unnecessarily abrasive. Our food came out fast, and the portions were good sized. The pad thai was tasty, well made. The red curry was not very good, it had a very unusual vegetable blend and the sauce was very watery. The ginger pepper steak and its vegetables had a decent flavor but several of the meat pieces seemed to be partially made of what I can only describe as gooey gelatin, independent of the sauce the dish was cooked in. Very off-putting. All three dishes were decently warm when they hit the table but not piping hot, and as a result they were lukewarm or cold fairly quickly. Later on I observed our server helping another server clear a table and our server made a definitive and unmistakable head gesture towards our table. Overall she seemed very tense, only checking on us occasionally. Her lack of care was emphasized when she checked by our table and we told her we were done with a half-eaten red curry and she did not question whether there was anything wrong. Overall a negative experience, and we will not be returning.

Ordered the miso soup, which was a nice size portion. There was plenty of tofu, and greens in the soup. There was a nice size portion, the taste was delightful. The rice was cooked to perfection. 7 put of 10 Restaurant is very clean. Staff is friendly. 8 out of 10 I personally feel the best time to come into the restaurant is between three and five. It's not as busy. The food is still fresh and delicious. I rate the atmosphere 7. out of 10. The restaurant is right next to the gas station. Don't let that fool you this is a great little hole in the wall to visit, talk with the staff. Yes, there is a language barrier to a degree but they're so friendly and nice to take a minute how are you doing? I took the time to talk with the owner of the restaurant, I personally feel getting to know your local restaurant owners and staff is a good thing. It'll make your dining experience better. Zew, started creating sushi and cooking Japanese food back in 2001, Mr. Sushi opened in 2017, there was not very many sushi restaurants in the Asheville then. There's been many sushi restaurants come and go since then. There are Sushi/ Japanese/Hibachi restaurants in the area, however this one is truly a wonderful restaurant to visit it's quaint and down to earth-place, this is why I highly recommend this restaurant this is restaurant. with great personality. Zew is. Owners he is a delight to talk with, you see the passion in his face when he's talking about his food that he's created the original rolls that he makes. I recommend trying the Rangoon roll. There's no fish in it. It's there's imitation crab. It's a wonderful thing that he is doing here and he has truly traditional Japanese fried noodles. Which is very much a difference between the Chinese way of cooking the noodles. As much as I'd like to give five stars I cannot because I rarely give five stars. I love this place. I would return to this place and I hope that you will come to this place too and enjoy wonderful sushi and a little a hole in the wall from somebody that has compassion for the food he creates.

We brought the rest home and discarded it. While the food had a very attractive appearance, the taste was just not wonderful. We spent 50.00 and did not leave ravings about how good it was or how much we enjoyed it. I do not like to review negatively but sushi should be fresh, tasty and satisfying. I don't think we will eat here again.
