Cute little place with an outdoor patio and great food! I find it really interesting that all drinks are served from a bottle, my guess is they're trying to go for that European feel. The seaweed salad was great, but an extremely small portion. The miso soup, divine! I tried the ebi10 roll and the Wellington roll, both were great! I just really loved the overall experience and location. The guys making the sushi were really friendly and you could tell they enjoyed what they were doing and not just going through the motion.

So as promised we went back for date night this week. I ordered the Tuna Hanna even though I wanted to stick with the delicious Starfish I know and love. Y'all ain't ready for this!!!The pounded tuna was the most tender piece of meat I have ever put in my mouth. The presentation was amazing (as knew it would be) but each delicate bite had a unique flavor depending on which of the 5 different sauces clung to the delicate meat swirled around it. The smoked flavor of the tobiko intertwined with the nutty goodness of the lightly dressed seaweed salad, creamy crab salad and silky avocado was heaven in my mouth. You need to go taste one of James' masterpieces, you will not be disappointed.

    Sloppy sushi

Very disappointed. We have been here many times and it's been great. However this time was horrible. We came to listen to the music. Unfortunately the food wasn't that great. Service horrible for not being busy. Ordered miso soup, it actually smelled bad. I'm worried that I will be sick later. I had to walk in to order this, as the waitress had disappeared. (Only 2 tables outside and one at the sushi bar). I asked for a glass for a beer and 15 mins later, i had to walk in to ask again. The sushi ordered, the taste was good but it must have been a new sushi roller because it was very sloppy. This makes me sad because in the past I have really enjoyed the experience and the food. Last but not least the construction equipment in the front was ridiculous. Creating a safety hazard to get into the restaurant. I gave it 2 stars because the kirin beer and poke bowl was the only good thing about the experience. $136 for a little sake, 3 beers, 2 salad dishes and 2 sushi rolls was NOT worth the money.

As a visitor of the area, I was happy to run across this restaurant by mistake. We were meant to go to the diner across the way, but there was a wait. As we walked around, we noticed this sushi restaurant. Coming from an extremely diverse part of CA where we have sushi all of the time, we are sushi snobs. But I can say that this place does not disappoint! We ordered different rolls and noodles and everyone enjoyed their food. The presentation was pretty. The food came quickly and the waitress was friendly. It wasn't crowded the day we went. A bit out of the way (considering it's in Tryon Equestrian Center), but it's a great place to go if you are in the mood for sushi.

Best sushi around. I'm not even a horse person, but I love coming to the Tryon Equestrian Resort to eat at Blue Ginger.

I LOVE the sushi at Blue Ginger. Chef James is wonderful and so creative. It's pricey, but well worth the treat.

I've been a fan of James ever since he was in Atlanta so I couldn't pass up an opportunity to eat here while in Asheville. The restaurant is cozy and nice. The food was amazing as usual. I would highly recommend to any sushi lovers in the area.

Blue Ginger - what can I say other than Phenomenal!! Great food, Great Service and Atmosphere-all in the middle of the new Tyron International Equestrian Center...easily accessible. Traditional Japanese Sushi with a modern flair! A "must try" ~ you won't be disappointed!!!!

Best sushi place ever. I didn't like the ramen but that's my opinion. The employees are very nice and the food is always fresh.

Came on a Saturday night and the food was fantastic...the facility's "house band", however, sounded like bad karaoke

Disappointing, sushi rolls were not tightly rolled. This makes the rolls fall apart easily and made them difficult to eat.

The staff was genuinely kind and attentive, not just going through the motions. That kind of service is rare. I ordered the dumplings, teriyaki chicken, and a spider roll--everything was fresh, flavorful, and made with care. You can taste the difference. As a retired Air Force veteran, I don't take good service or a good experience for granted. Soulisa's got it right. I left full in more ways than one. Great food, great people, great energy. Definitely a place I'd recommend.

But for Landrum to have a decent Thai restaurant (and they have sushi) is a big deal. I'm reviewing 3 stars for now, did not get to try the sushi and other menu items. The restaurant is situated in the middle of the block set in the quaint, small downtown of Landrum. The sushi is prepared in the back, in an open sushi style traditional display, but no seating right there. The restaurant is clean, moderately bright, and the tables can be arranged for parties of 8, we were four. I did think the tables were a little too close together. During our meal, an adjacent four top was seated and while they were not disturbing us, the tiny waitress was bumping into me as she took their order or delivered food, enough so that I had to be aware of it so as to not accidentally wave an arm and knock a drink or plate from her hand. Our service was attentive. Pricing is reasonable for food, but I did think $14 for an 8 ounce hot sake was steep. I tried the Larb Gai level 6 and the presentation and arrangement of the dish made it easy to eat as lettuce wraps with crisp iceberg and the fresh flavors. It was well balanced and the right heat but slightly dry. A side container of a couple of additional tablespoons of the Thai dressing would be a good idea. My Tom Yum Soup entree size was ample enough for leftovers. It is very flavorful but on the sweet side comparatively to many other TY soups I've had. My protein choice was chicken and heat level 6 of 10. It seemed that everyone's dishes were slightly hotter than expected, even our friends who regularly order the same dishes felt that way. My 6 was more like an 8 and I'm a hot head eater. This often happens as variance in pepper heat in stir fry or in chef to chef variance in spice profile. I would suggest order lower and adjust up to your taste. We arrived early, 5:15 and left 7:15 and were not rushed. The restaurant was moderately busy as it was a Friday. I'm told reservations are recommended. 3 stars means "A-OK" and that is where this landed. No disappointments and also no stand out experiences, but we would dine here again.
