The staff are all super friendly. The espresso is absolutely the best anywhere in the area. They have a huge variety of sandwiches and if you don't see something you want you can custom order one. The soups change daily and they are all quite good. They have very comfortable seating inside and outside. The outside seats are right next to the Nashoba Brook. The location is only 200 yards from the Bruce Freeman Rail trail. It's great for taking a nice long walk after eating lunch. Very cool location and tasty food, though the service leaves much to be desired. Paid $15 for a sandwich online, patiently waited the full 35 minutes they claim it takes to prepare. When I went in to pick it up, my existence was completely ignored when I stood at the counter for five minutes, then I was told it would be right up. 25 more minutes passed and still no sandwich as I stood there, invisible. Nashoba Bakery is a hidden gem in Concord. It's the cutest cafe, somewhat hidden in an industrial park. The staff was incredibly friendly, which made my day. They have a ton of fresh baked bread to choose from, and they also offer breakfast and lunch options if you want a meal. I just got coffee and a scone, and both were great. I highly recommend their ginger and lemon scone. If I ever come back to this area for work, I will definitely make this a recurring stop! read more

At the time of my original visit, this business charged customers an undisclosed (completely unposted) "kitchen appreciation fee" markup of 2% on all sales at retail, which only appears on your receipt at/after time of payment. This fee is not listed on the menu, displayed at the counter, or disclosed verbally prior to the transaction, making it impossible for customers to give informed consent. Because it is automatically applied and not optional, this may constitute a deceptive and unfair business practice under Massachusetts consumer protection law (Chapter 93A). This is a sneaky way to treat customers. The food was good, but I cannot give more than 2 stars for this kind of hidden fees billing practice as it's unethical. If you want to raise your prices by 2%.. just do that. Don't tack on a hidden fee. **** In response to the owner's reply: **** I do plan to visit again in the future, and if the fee is disclosed as promised, I would be willing to give a 4 star review, but I still very much disagree with the practice of additional fees rather than the putting it into the price. I still object fundamentally to a separate fee structure in the same way I would object to seeing extra fees for heating bills, electricity and wifi on my bill. It feels like a dark pattern you see Comcast and Verizon engaging in on telecoms bills, and I certainly do not welcome it elsewhere. While this practice may be just legal depending on disclosures, there are still other ways to solve this problem, and the 2 stars is warranted for the lack of disclosure I experienced. If you would like better reviews, your practices need to change. Price and overall experience is part of quality, and I left with a sour taste in my mouth. You can pay the back of the house more to compensate for the wage/tip gap, and raise prices. I don't need a warm feeling about paying the BOH staff better at the expense of getting ambushed with a hidden fee. I'd much rather pay the higher up-front all-in cost and know what i'm paying for. More to the point: I understand the reasoning behind implementing the 2% kitchen appreciation fee, and I don't dispute your intentions. However, intent does not excuse poor execution, especially when it comes to mandatory charges that are only revealed after the point of sale. The issue is simple: there was no disclosure--none--prior to payment. The fee was not listed on the menu, not posted at the register, and not mentioned by staff. By the time a customer sees it, they've already paid or at very least placed the order. That's not transparency, and it's not a minor detail. It's a textbook example of a hidden charge, and I left my review accordingly. While I appreciate your plan to post signage going forward, the policy as it stood during my visit was misleading, and I still fundamentally disagree with the practice when there are other non-hidden-fees ways to solve these issues. A refund on request or an internal FAQ doesn't change the fact that your team failed to inform me or give me a choice. That undermines trust, and that's exactly the kind of experience Yelp is designed to help other customers understand. read more

I've come here a few times and everything I've gotten has been delicious! The ambiance is very cozy cafe-vibes with both indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating is especially lovely because you sit right by the brook. The service is usually good, although last time I was there the woman ringing me up was pretty miserable. Just having a bad day I assume. Most recently I came for a mid-morning treat. I got their dark roast coffee and a croissant. The coffee is always good (I believe the brand they use is Karma Coffee) and the croissant was buttery, flaky perfection. I'm already looking forward to my next visit! read more

Was a little underwhelmed by breakfast here, which is a shame since it's been on my list for so long and we drove out specifically to check out the breakfast menu. I got the breakfast meal with egg whites, spinach, tomato on wheat sourdough with the home fries and fruit, and just didn't love it. I was surprised that it came with only one slice of bread, which is maybe my bad, but it felt like with the price and it being a bread place that it would be a breakfast sandwich? The other thing was that the bread didn't seem toasted at all, and because of the ingredients, it was SUPER watery, so the bread be came really soggy and I honestly wasn't sure how to eat it. I tried cutting it in half and turning it into a sandwich but it fell apart, but I also couldn't cut it with a fork and knife (it's compostable cutlery rather than metal, even if dining in). There also wasn't any sauce or seasoning so it was kind of one note. I added a bunch of pepper and hot sauce which helped. At least the home fries were excellent. We also ordered a regular make your own sandwich with cheese and veggies and spreads, which was decent but nothing to write home about. Drip coffee was solid. We won't avoid NBB going forward but won't go out of our way to come back. read more

Wow! We just found out about this phenomenal bakery that evidently many Yelp friends have already discovered and reviewed. We were on a mission to find a really good real slow rise sourdough bread. Surprisingly, our mission was accomplished. This bread which is baked fresh daily slowly rises by wild yeast from foraged Concord grapes. The company was established in 1998 and the dough is allowed to rise slowly for more than 24 hours. This exquisite bread is excellent, nutritious, handcrafted, and easy to digest. They use filtered water, wild yeast, organic whole wheat flour, and cornmeal to make this stone hearth recipe. This bread is free from any additives or preservatives and definitely a new favorite! read more

I do find the mochas very bitter and always feel I have to ask for more syrups to balance the flavor since it doesn't taste quite right when I order them. To update my earlier review, I've enjoyed returning to this staple of my hometown every time I visit, which has become at least once per month. It's not really visible from the street, the entrance on the other side of the building next to a gas station, but it's on the Concord river and has a nice outdoor eating area down the walkway with greenery next to a bridge, which I believe is on the main bike path, so great place to stop. They're known for their wide selection of breads and great sandwiches, one of my favs being the "Factory 152": garlic bread, chicken, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and chipotle mayo. You can also customize a sandwich if you want which I really like. They've overhauled their menu a bit recently and I'm getting the sense they like to refresh their smorgasbord (I wanted an excuse to use that word haha) and shake things up. While most of the numerous latte flavors they had have been removed, they still have a couple mochas, caramel, and two new house made vanilla flavors! One from Madagascar and the other paired with lavender. This is an exciting development and the Madagascar one I just had tasted fantastic. If you see the bear claw pastry I highly recommend that. I think they're cycling different items through, with these delicious cinnamon vanilla pastries/breads the last few times I've visited. There was a little mixup over the holidays with a soup, and most recently I had the privilege of meeting the owner and received a replacement soup which was very nice and says a lot about what kind of place it is. All their food and beverage items I've had have been wonderful, and there are unique ones that I haven't seen anywhere else. Nashoba has a great reputation in West Concord and it's a place you should for sure visit if you are in the area. read more

Nicely situated along the rail trail with a gorgeous outdoor are along the river, I like to come here during bike rides. If it weren't for this I wouldn't come in. I find the staff, unfriendly and unhelpful. Never a smile, a good morning or a welcome. The coffee is fine, probably the best thing about Nashoba. The bread is quite good but you can buy it at Whole Foods or numerous other places. The breakfast sandwich's are also fine, nothing fancy and made good mostly because of the good bread. I would steer clear of any of the pastries, I've stopped trying them because every one was as awful as the next. If you happen to be by Nashoba or find yourself on the rail trail then it's not a terrible place to stop. I wouldn't go out of my way to go here and I would keep my expectations low. read more

The service is very good, my favorite person is Grace, who was kind enough to remember my abstract order. It's hard to find but worth the effort! My very picky son had a "Build Your Own " sandwich with smoked turkey on wheat. He gobbled it up in no time and declared it was one of the best he's ever had. I had the Alcott and I agreed. The fresh bread and ingredients were outstanding! I also ate a slice of ham and tomato quiche after my voracious teenager ate half of my sandwich too! The counter service was efficient and helpful and there were several tables to help us relax and unwind in an unhurried atmosphere. Most sandwiches are $10.75 and they serve breakfast versions until noon. A true hidden gem! read more

It's sad when one moment of incompetence colors an entire experience, but that's what just happened. 4-5* food, 0000* experience. We came and ordered and paid for $40+ of food, including one cream puff, which I wanted as a late birthday present to myself (my birthday was two days ago, and had been under-celebrated). All of our food, including things that needed to be assembled and heated, came out. I went back to the counter and asked about the cream puff. The person who had taken our order said "I'm going to get it for you." By that point, I could see that the two cream puffs that had been there were gone, and I was hoping that one was being boxed for me. A minute later, she returned and said, "I'm sorry, there are none left; would you like something else?" No. I wanted a cream puff, for my birthday, and at the time that we ordered and paid, there were two in the case, and getting one out would have been easy. Sigh. read more

After my visit, I left a review of two stars. I was then reached out to by the owner with a sincere and honest message and apology that changed my mind. This place is very cute, there's a pedestrian bridge over a beautiful river to get here which I loved. A gorgeous outdoor area with a few tables to sit and eat, definitely my type of vibe. The exterior looks questionable at first, but it has a huge bakery inside and is much more comfortable once you walk in. The staff were very friendly, and the drinks were made efficiently but there was about a 10 minute wait for 2 sandwiches. I really enjoyed my breakfast sandwich, and the added watermelon was a major bonus! I ordered an egg & cheese sandwich on a croissant, but I got an ham, egg & cheese. A little disappointed with that minor negligence, because if I were completely strict with my diet as I used to be, or if I were one of the millions of Muslims around the world, it would be unacceptable to just take it off and eat it. I did, but if this mistake was not made they would have definitely gotten a higher rating. Pork is an absolute no, for myself and many others. Please pay attention! Let me start this promo off by saying I've lived in Acton my entire life and I have NEVER liked this place. Always full of pretentious and stuck up people who think that they're better than everyone else in a terrible location to boot. Well guess what, my mom loves coming here because she doesn't drink coffee and they have a few other options including chai latte. Sure mom, whatever you want even though this place sucks lol. I put in an order for us this morning at 9:56 for two drinks and we live down the street so I got there at 10 thinking it would be close to done. This place doesn't start making your drink until the estimated pickup time on the label apparently. Why on earth did you estimate a 30 minute pickup for 10:26 for two drinks when you weren't even remotely busy? You clearly saw me there for 40 minutes waiting for an order while people just waltzed in, ordered and got their order before I did. You didn't think to ask me what I was there waiting for? Here's the cherry on top. When my drinks were finally ready at 10:41, I mentioned I had been there since 10. "Your pickup time was 10:26". Yeah and it's 10:41 and it just got handed to me. 15 minutes later than the estimate that was already 20 minutes overestimated to begin with. Beyond obnoxious and inconsiderate of you to say I can't stand this place. I seriously can't. Never again. I could have ordered at every Dunks in Acton, stopped at Mickey D's for a McMuffin and gotten back to my house before you finished my order today. Inexcusable read more

parking - first time here and it was a little difficult to find the place. we didn't know where to park, still don't, and couldn't figure it out. we ended up on a meter spot in the streets a couple parking lots away. ambiance - you walk in and through the long hallway corridor finally arriving at your destination, the ordering counter. we got the curry sandwich and the tarragon chicken sandwich. one cookie and one lemon bar later with a coffee. you get a cup and serve the coffee yourself. i like this as i can concoct the coffee to my likings. that day i put in 75% decaf with 25% medium roast. i already had some tea at home and didn't need to turn into beavis asking do you have tp for my bungholio. everything was super fresh. i'll have to ask if they can warm the sandwich up next time coz i think that would take it to the next level of sandwiches. dare i ask if they can panini it? the lemon bar was good in flavor, texture, and very loaded in sugar. read more

Indoors is filled with chairs (comfy low, or high for Brook views); paintings; photographs; plus notices for local music, drama, workshops, & other events. That wonderful aroma of breads baking, fresh coffee brewing, & delicious other dishes-that-day will lure you in. I visited the bakery and cafe after enjoying some sourdough rolls through a food delivery service. We stopped by on a Saturday around lunch time. Each child had a sandwich (turkey for one and ham for the other.) My spouse and I shared a curried chicken salad. The server was very patient in explaining and walking me through the salad! The food tasted good and a good value, especially the kids sandwiches. They could definitely share one sandwich next time. Spouse and kids shared a chocolate chip cookie that I'm told was fine. I didn't buy any bread, but I'd summarize this as a bakery that also provides good value sandwiches. I was disappointed that none of the baked goods were sourdough; that would have been a pleasant surprise. I do love their mission with the sourdough bread. read more
