This review is for: Nashville's Dark Secrets: Murder and True Crime Ghost Tour From start to finish, easily the worst part of our trip. Directions were incorrect, when we tried to reach out for help, the snarky d*ck on the other end of the phone was less than hospitable, commenting that "27 other people could find it, you're not my problem". He claimed (repeatedly) to be the small business owner several times which seemingly afforded him carte-blanche to be rude af. Oh, after hanging up on me, he proceeded to text me to continue his small business bleeding heart bs. As to the tour itself, I've had more enjoyable coloscopy's. Boring to the max. Honestly, save your time and money and do a lap around the capitol building on your own time while Googling "pedestrian facts about the tn capitol building". The commentary from the guide, Hannah, was totally snoozeworthy. What would she have done without her cellphone which she relied on the whole time....or at least for as long as we were there. Yes, we left about halfway through the tour. And if you think I'm being overly critical, ask the other 8 people who also ditched the tour at the same time. Worst tour, of any theme, I've ever been on. Total disappointment. Worst customer service ever. Never again. Don't bother. read more

Really fun experience! I came with 5 of my friends so our group was very small, we did the tavern tour. Our tour guide was outside the correct location and he was very easy to find! We started at dicks resort, got a drink, and headed to the back. Where he told us a lot of history about the building and spirts that roam around there. After that we walked around the area where we stopped at several locations and he talked about the history as well. We only stopped outside of them but I learned a lot on this tour it was a really fun experience learning what happened in Nashville hundreds of years ago. Our tour guide was fantastic, he was very knowledgeable and was extremely friendly and easy to get along with. After we ended back up at bb Kings and got a drink and we were taken into the basement. This part was really fun, there was so much history down there as the original foundation is all still there. We were able to walk around and take tons of pictures. The downsides on this tour was on the website it's stated that they have drink specials and trivia. They didn't offer both of those. No discounts on drinks at all. Another downside was I thought we were going to go inside a lot more bars, we were only brought inside two of them. The rest of the tour was all outside telling stories about buildings that we could look at. There was one story about an abandoned bar that really interested me, apparently there was a hostage situation inside and people died. I googled it and unfortunately couldn't find anything about it. I really hope the stories were all true. Overall, this was a really fun experience. If you love history this will be a fun time for sure. I did experience something in the basement but don't be upset if you don't, it's not guaranteed. read more

I love to do these everywhere largely because they always offer some really cool facts about the history of wherever you're visiting. I feel like people have some unreasonable expectations for the ghostiness bit. Mostly we laugh about some of the lore and get to walk around getting some exercise doing and activity as a family that doesn't involve the bars. I messaged day of about if we could bring our pups along and they replied instantly with yes as long as they were well behaved which was so awesome. We brought them along and they got some extra exercise too. Our guides name was Zoe I think and she was engaging and knowledgeable. Mostly it was just a great time even with it being so hot. read more

History of Nashville tour would have been a better name. Not scary at all, nor was anything seen or told remotely scary either. Not a big fan of ghost tours but the Nashville Haunted Downtown Tour incorporated a lot of interesting history into the tour which I found exciting. We started outside the Hermitage Hotel which is a nice landmark in and of itself and proceeded to go around the capital building where there's plenty of interesting monuments and statues. I had no idea about many of Tennessee's 1800 era politicians or the spooky stories behind them. The tour ended near Printers Alley next to Broadway, which is a good drop off point to continue the night. I forget the name of the lady who did our tour but it was on Friday 10/18 - she was friendly and very interesting. read more

Guide was informative. BUT the open air HEARSE tour was the worst ever. hearse is a run down 1984 POS that apparently the owner won't fix. I ended up covering my face with a napkin because the exhaust fumes were so bad. Hubs had to sit up front because they overbooked. He could smell the oil dripping on the exhaust up front and said it was horrible. Had to ask the guide to turn off hearse during stops on tour no she was afraid it wouldn't start back up. i always try to find some good before a review, but there isn't anything. We did the haunted tavern tour and had Juan as our tour guide. He was amazing. He was very knowledgeable and passionate about the stories he told and made the experience so fun. Getting to stop in and grab a few drinks was fun as well. Just having a guide on broadway was priceless it's crazy busy on a Saturday evening. I would recommend it. Just be sure to search parking prior to your evening out. Parking is a little difficult on the weekends. read more

Chris was wonderful!!! We did the standard walking tour around the July 4 holiday weekend. We had a pretty big group but had gotten tickets a couple days early. I try to do a ghost tour in every city that I visit (especially in areas with good history/stories). This one did not disappoint and I'd rank it in the top of the ones I've done! Chris was a great balance of good storytelling and history. He was really interesting and kept my attention the whole tour- which ended up going from 8-10. We went to some cool spots around town. Just a warning- there are hills you go up and stairs with no railings. For anyone looking at going on one of these- please remember too that they also work for tips and it's a little rude to not tip and just walk away at the end. We took the Nashville Hearse Tour. 10 good sized people in the back of this Hearse don't fit and was just painful. Look at the photo, you sit sideways, facing someone else and there is -0- space between your knees and theirs. In my experience, they cram in as many as 10 people. (8 people max should be the limit) You have to crawl into the vehicle through the back. So if you just don't really bend that way anymore, think about it. If we hadn't been so unconformable I would have given a higher rating, it was everything you would expect on a ghost tour. It was ghost stories and then music blasting while your in motion. (I do think some more imagination could easily jazz this tour up a bit) It was very nice to see downtown at night. The open air seating was nice. They tell you it's ok to bring beverages, but there is nowhere to put them. Remember, no foot/leg room. So juggling my purse, a camera, and my beverage was a trick. This was simply awesome. The guide that we had was so knowledgeable that it was almost hard to comprehend all the information that he threw at us in the short time span. I particularly like how he would not just say that there's been story of things, but they made sure to only provide facts and details that could be corroborated with documented sources and multiple witnesses. We decided to op out of the limo and hop on the haunted hearse last night for a friend's birthday. Holy cow, what an experience. I have to say, I did not hear much of the tour. Very disappointing for me since I LOVE scary stories/haunted houses. It was not the driver/guide's fault since we were hooting and hollering at every car that went by. The hearse has the top cut off the back so you sit on benches in the back with your hair blowing in the wind. So. Fun. You can bring alcohol, so you may see why we didn't hear much as we were partying it up the whole time with little room to listen. It is an hour tour that starts at Best Western Music City and takes you down Music Row then Downtown then dropped us off at the bar on Demonbreun. The tour should last 60" but our lasted less than an hour and it is $200 for a group or $20 per person. My friend and I came to Nashville from out of town and were super excited for the ghost tour. This ended up being a huge disappointment. Half of the tour we were waiting on people from the tour and our guide to order their drinks. The tour guide rambled on about ghost stories that had nothing to do with where we were. The trivia was fun, but not why I paid for the tour. Our group had probably 30 people and by the time we went to the second bar, only six people (including us) were still there. Everyone else bailed. We stayed because we were promised shot glasses for participating in trivia (the winning team was supposed to get them but they all left). read more

This Tavern Tour was amazing! My girlfriend found the tour on a whim and we absolutely loved the whole thing. The stories were fun and the bars were exciting! Alex was amazing! His leather jacket based outfit fit the whole vibe, along with his incredible story telling! He handled a group of drinkers (including a birthday party and a bachlorette party) with great patience and humor. This review is for the haunted tavern tour. LOVED IT. Basically you meet your group and guide at a bar. You have a few drinks while getting to know the rest of your group and hearing about the haunted tavern. And then you move to the next, continue with drinks, hear some stories etc. They also throw in a trivia contest where you play for 'authentic one of a kind shot glasses'. Don't be put off if you arn't the 'bar type'. I went with two other people and none of us are bar people or drinkers. We still had a blast. It was a great way to experience down town Nashville. If you are in Nashville for the first time, I would recommend choosing this tour on the first night so that you can go back and check out the haunted places further during the rest of your stay. read more

We got with them at the last minute, as they really do start on time, and our host (sorry I forgot your name... he did the tour on Friday night 7/23) was helpful in explaining how we buy the tickets (over the phone cuz there is no booth). He was very detailed in all the hautings. He was very great and getting all ages into his stories and telling his own experiences of the things he has seen as well. I've done 2 of these tours now. The haunted Hearse Tour I did in July, and I would give 5 stars! That was fun, the guide was great, and we had a blast. You can hear a lot of info in a short time. Bring a hat, because it gets really windy driving around in an open hearse. The we did the walking Haunted Ghost Tour for 90-100 min in October. I would give that 1 star. First of all, they had 32 people on our tour! Seriously! Do you know what happens when you are trying to walk around with 32 people..... only the first few people in the from can even hear the tour guide! I never even heard 90% of the tour! TOTAL WASTE OF MY MONEY! She did not carry a microphone or anything to amplify her voice, so on a Saturday night, you could not hear her over the normal street noise anyway, let alone over a the distance of 32 bodies. The guide would also just start walking away form the group really fast and we had to run to catch up constantly. If you have the slightest physical impairment, this is not the tour for you. I can walk fine, but have some balance issues. Even though I was with people and brought lights to compensate, the guide was moving so incredible fast, that it was extremely hard to keep up. I did not enjoy this tour as I had hoped. read more

There was a big group and he handled it super well. There were several children and he included them a lot and they had a ball. He was even super considerate with a couple who brought two dogs. I hate to give this tour anything but a good review because our guide was fantastic, the stories are a nice mix of history and ghost stories, but... The scariest thing on this tour is the people who followed us, talked to us, yelled at us and at one point two hotel employees came running up and asked if we saw two guys with guns that had just mugged them in valet parking. Our guide was a sweet, petite lady who did everything she could to take safe routes, but there's not much you can do when a homeless guy walks up to a group to tell them he doesn't want to kill us. I enjoyed this tour very much! We went on the 9pm tour. I'm a 25year old. There were people of all ages on the tour. The driver picks you up and it's nice because you get a little drive through downtown while he picks everyone up. The roof of the hurst is cut our so you sit on benches in the back and enjoy the fresh air. We went down music row, stopped at the cemetery, went by a mansion, union station, etc. Lots of history. You don't go inside but stop in front of the buildings and he tells the story. Blankets are provided if it's cold out. This was a very nice experience. Definitely recommend. read more

I went on the haunted Nashville ghost tour hoping to hear creepy stories about the paranormal and what I ended up getting was a history lesson. I was disappointed and lost interest almost immediately. The size of the group was also way too large at around 30+ people so even if I did care about what the tour guide had to say it would be difficult to be close enough to hear. Had this been sold as a history tour it wouldn't have been bad if that's what you were expecting. But as a ghost tour I would say don't waste your time. read more
