I made a yelp account just to write this review . PLEAE DO NOT DO YOUR HAIR AT THIS SALON . The level of unprofessionalism that these ladies exude is something that I've never experienced before I went into the shop a week before the day I wanted to get my hair done for a wedding. The first two photos on the right are pictures from online that showed to them what I'd like to have done. picture of the hairstyle that I requested she told me the price would be $160 for above waist length faux locs. When I got to the salon she told me that I had to also buy the hair which was another $30 making the total so far $190. The photo on the left is a pictures of what was done to my hair after six hours . The entire process was horrible. there were 4 to 5 different people into changing between doing my hair some of which didn't even work there... It seems they just called for help to whom ever they know is available whether or not they are real hairstylist. Not to mention it's was so painful. then they use two different types of hair in my head instead of just the hair the asked me to buy . Some of the locks in the back were so sloppy Not to mention the length of the loc was so short. One day after it was done they started to unravel. When I told her that the price of the hairstyle needed to be changed she refused. These people have no sense of professionalism and no morals they just want the money and don't care how your hair comes out. Seriously do not do your hair at this place I wish when people told me not to go there I had listened.

I went to the salon to do crochet braids for the first time. I had a picture of what I thought I wanted. Nicky the stylist installed the hair and we both decided it did not compliment me. I bought new hair and she redid it at NO CHARGE!!! I had to give her a big tip because her service level and compassion was great! I am def going her from now on!

I read the previous Yelp review of Nass African Hair Braiding, and decided to give it a try. The store in on Flatbush Ave and Fenimore St, and is very clean and professional looking inside and out. I walked in around 5 p.m. on a weekday with no appointment, and two of Nass' daughters were able to do my senegalese twists right away. Both women were very nice, answered all of my questions, made conversation and were helpful. The process took about 4.5 hours, but very worth the time! I'm extremely pleased with my braids! They feel light on my head (took about 3 or 4 packs of Kanekelon hair) and they weren't tight or pulling my hair line like other braids. The price was reasonable, and the hair can be bought at the store or you bring your own. I've definitely become a fan and plan to go back in a few months.

Fatima did an excellent job on my hair. It wasn't tight or anything. Only bad thing was the wait time. Other than that everything else was great.

My 2nd Crotchet install.... it only gets better. Excellent work! Glad I went on a weekday so I didnt have to deal with a crowd as i did before. I was prepared to wait but lucky for me that was not the case. Jeanine installed my braids again and she was on point. Love my hair.

I was anxiously looking to do my crochet braids before the holidays and they nailed it. They did a wonderful job for the price. No complaints. I got my hair done yesterday and I LOVE IT. They do not braid tight and yet the braids are not loose, I was also able to finish my hair in 2 hours even as I came in late. Jeninne and Nikka are really good, they're very personable and quick learners. They weren't use to knotless crochet braiding but nailed it once I showed them a video. This place was convenient, affordable and worth every star. What sort of upset me was the parking in the area, it took me about 15 min to locate a great parking spot with all the traffic and congestion in the area but then again it is also on Flatbush I can honestly say I will be going back for future services. Great job ladies!

    Crochet braids, yay!

I initially came here for a touch up. Although I was worried about my edges, they did a great job and the twists lasted longer than where I originally got them done. Today I tried crochet braids for the first time, I believe Janine did them and they are freakin fantastic!! Love them.

They do wonderful crochet braids! Just got my hair done Sunday and I feel fabulous! This was my first time getting crochet braids!

They are all so nice! You will have to wait a while so make sure to bring food, snacks, and water! I went in to get crochet braids the kinky curly bohemian texture and I brought a picture and I swear they made it look exactly like the photo! I love them so much! This was the first time I ever got crochet braids and they look fabulous!

    Fresh outa the salon!

She was incredibly kind, took the time to understand exactly what I wanted, and guided me toward the best option for my hair. Even though highlighting is a detailed and time-intensive process, Ava's attention to detail was exceptional! When it came time to choose the right shade, she brought out a color swatch book and walked me through the different tones, helping me find the one that would complement me best. I really appreciated how personalized the experience felt, and I loved being able to look through all the color options myself. Ava is a talented stylist who genuinely cares about her clients and their results. I left feeling refreshed, confident, and like a whole new person. I couldn't be happier with my highlights and would highly recommend her!

I then ended up waiting longer, so my appointment didn't start until 45 minutes after my original time. Due to this, it seemed like my service was very rushed and I was unhappy with how the cut came out. I had to go back in the following week to have it touched up. Also, the salon bathroom smelled awful and the salon gets incredibly smoky and hazy. While this place wasn't for me, it seems a lot of people like it, so maybe it's all dependent on the stylist

It is very close to the Borough Hall train station, close to Jay Street- Metrotech and various other buses and public forms of transport. In fact, I thought the salon was a general spa as opposed to a salon suite of different hairdressers and beauty services. I am used to this type of establishment because I had a hairstylist who worked in a similar space when I lived outside of NYC. There are various ways to enter. My hairstylist gave me a code to enter and you can either call for the stylist to get you up or you can get a QR code. The lobby to the salons are on the first floor while the actual booths are on the second floor. There are stairs and an elevator. There are multiple couches and comfy benches on the second floor so you can wait for your appointment. There are stations for coffee and tea that my stylist told me to take advantage of. There is artwork all over and the color scheme makes it not sterile but not too bright. There is a vending machine onsite but since the location is close to many eateries (chopt is next door) you don't have to worry about access. I had a great time with my stylist Lilian. She came on time. She asked me questions about my desires and goals and gave me recommendations that I can use in my free time. I look forward to using her services in the future.
