First time at this location to have lunch with my mom. It's more spacious with a few tables and chairs to sit and enjoy while the borekas are warm. They have a few options for filling. We ordered one cheese and zaatar which is my favorite. And we got one spinach and cheese my mom's favorite. Both very flavorful and delicious. It's served with a boiled egg , pickles and two kinds of house sauces. It's very delicious. Customer service was friendlier at this location unlike the other one on Ventura. Will be coming here from now on.

Amazing pastries. I loved the taste of the fungi, onions & truffle boreka. Best to eat for breakfast or anytime of the day as your preference. Their Borekas always came out warm with eggs, sauces, and pickles. The crust was flaky and all the ingredients inside were warm and tasty. Cultured Cheese and Za'atar Boreka was good as well. It was simple but yet the cheese was soft inside with baked crust on the outside was the best of both worlds. Service was great and fast. This place was on the street but there were plenty of seating area with tables at the front of this place. Plenty of parking on the street. I just eat there at their tables while pastries were warm and fresh. Highly recommend these pastries!

well, again, if I could give a six stars to this place, I would I placed an order for my lunch and for my house, and it is such a delicious place to order borekas! They are so fresh, light, and flaky! A true delight‼

This place is severely underrated. Flakiest pastries with the most delectable filling choices. Perfect pairing of sauces and sides (jammy eggs and pickles), that make this meal such a treat. Quick to order with a simple menu with ample clean outdoor seating, they absolutely knock it out of the park every time. You can't go wrong with any of them, but I love the Zaatar and cheese. I wish they get more business!

Good service, fresh food, they got a limited menu which makes it easy to choose. Ordered the cultured cheese & za'atar Lots of interesting and delicious flavors. I think 1 order will fill you up. Comes with boiled egg, pickled cucumber, and 2 different salsas.

Delicious! Both locations are great, but I prefer this one because it has a nice outdoor seating area. Staff is super nice and helpful too! Good is always good, love the mint lemonade too!

First time trying borekas and I'm hooked. This place is for the pickle-lovers! I was so excited to get some chopped up pickles on the side of my boreka. The boiled eggs were a perfect touch too, just the right amount of salt and pepper and a beautiful yolk. I had the mushroom and carmelized onion boreka which was near perfect. The dough was golden, flakey and buttery. I really dream about doughs like this. To be absolutely perfect, I would've loved to have the caramelized onions come through a little more. The staff were super sweet. I got my order through a window pick-up/order area. That's all they really have, which is kind of cute. Although they don't have indoor seating, they do have a few chairs out in front of a shaded patio area.

full review on my tiktok @betthanyx- HIGHLY recommend this place! first time trying borekas but I can tell the pastry quality is high. i believe they use aged dough with clarified butter. definitely try their traditional flavor, cheese and za'atar (9.5/10). truffle mushroom onion was a bit underwhelming (7/10) but the spinach and cheese was good (8/10)! 14$ each boreka

Borekas Sephardic Pastries is the kind of place you stop by for a quick bite and end up staying for more. The Borekas are flaky, the fillings are balanced. My favorite, Cultured Cheese & Za'atar, excellent! Even with multiple locations, they've kept the same authentic quality and consistency. Limited casual seating and easy parking. Spinach and cheese borekas with egg, pickles and grated tomatoes. Schug on the side.

Ethnic hole-in-the-walls tend to be some of my favorite. This one is both literally and figuratively that - you order by walking up to a small order window, then sit outside on the patio. How LA of you! How reminiscent of Covid days! The food is the star here. Authentic to a tee. Perfectly Israeli, with just the right trimmings - soft boiled egg, grated tomatoes and Israeli pickles. I still wish the egg would be smushed into the boreka (singular?) like I experienced on visits to Israel. Also, the schug? Weak! Either make your own, better, version; or buy something else. This barely passes for schug.

Recently discovered this new cuisine and very happy that I did. Here's what I've ordered... Pinukin sandwich: Excellent Borekas (cultured cheese & za'atar, potato and brown butter): Excellent The chili sauce, pickles and hard boiled eggs that come with the borekas makes the whole meal enjoyable. There's only outdoor seating and you place an order at the counter. It's located on noisy Van Nuys Blvd, so I just take it home to eat.

Love this place and I like that this location is in a calmer space than the one on Ventura Blvd. It's also a great spot for drive up pick up. Every boreka I've had is delicious here. My favorites include the cheese and Zataar or the spinach one. I highly recommend buying a jar of pickles to take home and enjoy. I recently tried the egg salad on a boreka which was very good too. This place is great to come with a friend to split and try different ones. The mint lemonade is also very refreshing. HEADS UP, they are closed one Saturdays in observance of the Jewish Sabbath and other Jewish holidays so be sure to check if they're open as they may be closed for holidays such as Passover (where we don't eat leavened bread).

I love this place so much! Delicious and overall a 10/10. The food is so fresh and the pastry is super flaky it melts in your mouth. I ordered the spinach & feta boreka and the potato. Both were amazing! I love that they come with delicious pickles and eggs!

Borekas and Sephardic Pastries has a fantastic array of savory delights!

There was no marks on the cup, no receipt under need the cup to indicate it nor did they even know which was which. One employee a few awkward seconds later after making me feel like I was the problem for asking which was which proceeded to then say " I think it's that's one, because the milk is separated a certain way " and I then asked her " you think ?" And I let her know in the future you guys should really pay attention to what your making, label the cups or leave receipts under the drinks if it's going to be a problem asking which drink is what? The employee then replied "well I didn't even make it, sooo ...." And I replied that's great to know but that's really not the point here, someone with a real food allergy could be allergic to nuts and you guys not caring nor knowing which drink is what drink is the real problem here. Of course you don't care, you down own the spot. You're not liable if someone dies from a food allergy now are you, ownership is. The whole interaction was just unpleasant and we became the problem for simply asking which latte had which milk. The staff continued to smile and roll their eyes, and we asked for a refund immediately after. Such a nice looking place but such unpleasant unprofessional staff unfortunately. Employee with purple hair was mainly the one with the issue and the attitude who seems to think everything was a joke.

Actually, all of their employees. Place was packed. Wanted to see and know the sizes of the cups for me to decide which one to go with and the price difference. I went with a medium size hot decaf (one shot) Vanilla Latte with Macadamia Milk. Also got a Blueberry Muffin and a plain butter Croissant. I thought that they would also have some breakfast items like egg, bacon, sausage, cheese etc..they didn't. They only had plain bagel and Cream Cheese. My Latte tasted very good, on the flip side the Croissant wasn't as warm and fresh as I wanted for it to be. I asked the ladies behind the counter to warm it up again. The muffin was very fresh and delicious. Lauren handed me the Latte and my goodies. I don't want to dock a star for the Croissant, but it could have been a lot more fresh. Place was clean, with one gender neutral restroom, inside and outside seating, and the price was right for the 3 items that I got. $14.00 in total plus my tip of $2.00. Street parking only, woman owned, beautiful art work on their walls by famous artists, merchandise for sale, and nice music from the 80's playing overhead. My go-to drinks are the Caramel Royale and the Vanilla Rose Latte over ice. Both are flavorful, well-balanced, and never overly sweet. I also appreciate that they offer a variety of milk options, including 2%, which isn't always easy to find at other coffee shops.. They have beans of light roast, medium roast and dark roast and sell by various weights for a very reasonable price. They also sell various tea leaves, baked goods (croissant, muffin, scones, bagel, Danish, coffee cake, Dessert Therapy cookies, and merchs. They also have a seasonable menu that changes. When I went, it was the Sakura season menu. Staff were all friendly and were very willing to answer any questions regarding the menu. Please note, the base coffee blend for each day varies and rotates on a daily basis For my visit, I tried ... 1. Buttered Coffee (4.5/5) The base coffee for the day was the Peru single origin, which was well-balanced; slightly sweet with a hint of tartness and nuttiness. They then add a chunk of butter into the coffee, which helps cut some of the acidity, but also is supposed to enhance the caffeine effect and give you additional energy from the fat. It does leave a layer of fat/oiliness so if you are not a fan of that, then this may not be for you. The butter did give it a subtle buttery flavor, which I personally liked. 2.
