We are so glad to have chosen to work with Nathan! My husband and I chose him back in March/April 2019 for our July 2020 wedding based on the quality & creativity of his photos and his detailed & timely responses via email. I really appreciate good communication! He sent us a congratulatory bottle of champagne and card after we put down our deposit with him which was such a wonderful surprise! Things like this really make you feel excited about getting married! He also shot our engagement photos as part of our photo package and brought us little gift bags with water, chocolate & goodies with Mr. & Mrs. on the bottles! We shot the photos in August and received them digitally and on a photo disc in the mail in September. As our wedding drew closer we planned out a timeline. Once COVID hit, we weren't sure how that was going to affect our wedding so we held off on a decision until May. Things changed a lot with our wedding plans and we didn't think we would need Nathan during our reception. We realized we would need him but unfortunately he was not comfortable being indoors during COVID. My restaurant moved everything outside but unfortunately he was still not willing to shoot the reception. I ended up having to hire another photographer for the reception last minute a few weeks before the wedding. I have to be 100% honest that I was disappointed hearing that he would not commit to the full day, as that was the original commitment that was made pre-COVID. However, I understood that everyone has different comfortability & feelings when it comes to the pandemic and I rolled with the punches. He met us beforehand to check out the photo locations we had in mind for our newlywed photos which was great! He did an incredible job on our wedding day and sweat bullets all afternoon long taking photos. He also found an incredible spot for our newlywed photos which was just magical! We received our digital photos a month after our wedding and he sent a card and USB stick in the mail. He has been my most favorite vendor to work with and one of the kindest, most patient, thoughtful & hardworking people I've met. Actually, he was a guest at our friend's wedding reception (not the hired photographer) and took some random shots on his own, and they were so awesome that we were sold. There are so many wonderful things to be said about Nathan. I'll start will his professional, friendly, and prompt response when I reached out to him initially via email. Nathan always replied in a timely manner, was warm and kind, and was helpful in offering suggestions. When we arrived for our maternity photo shoot Nathan was already there and prepared. My husband and I were blown away by the beauty of the location (a spot Nathan had recommended when asked). During the shoot, Nathan made us feel relaxed, comfortable, and kept smiles on our faces. My husband and I are not what you would call naturals in front of a camera, and Nathan kept the environment fun, light, and comfortable. (I feel I should note that this is the first time in the almost 9 years I've known my husband that I didn't hear one complaint out of him during (or after) the whole time he was having his picture taken!) Finding the right photographer for our wedding was one of my top priorities. Out of all of the money we are spending for that day, the pictures are the only thing we'll keep forever. None of the vendor suggestions provided by our venue seemed right so I took my search to yelp, which is where I found Nathan. As soon as I looked at his website, I was pretty certain I had found our photographer. In addition to the stunning photos he has posted, I was able to get a glimpse of his sense of humor and knew he would be a good match for us. What I like best about his work is that he incorporates the background and light beautifully with his subjects, and they work perfectly together with neither overshadowing the other or competing for attention. He responded promptly to my inquiry and we set up a meeting to have an opportunity to see some more of his work in person and be sure that he would be a good fit with our personalities. I had a little test for the photographers I met with which was to show them an example of an awkward family portrait that I would like to recreate during our wedding session(thanks pinterest!!). Not only did Nathan not roll his eyes at me, but I could tell that he got my sense of humor and is game to try anything. As soon as he let me know he would be able to accommodate my request for a second shooter, I was sold and signed the contract as soon as possible before some other bride stole him away for our date. So far we have had our engagement shoot, which was included in the package we selected, and the results far exceeded any expectations we had. I wanted a quirky setting for our photos and decided to do it at Pioneertown, which is an old western movie set/current tourist attraction out in Yucca Valley. Nathan is such a good sport and didn't flinch at the idea of driving more than two hours to do our session. He really put us at ease and isn't afraid to crawl and lay down in the dirt to get the perfect shot. A couple of days after he posted a sample picture from the day that was so beautiful that I would have been 100% satisfied had that been the only picture we got from the day. Obviously it wasn't, and a few short weeks later he provided us with the edited photos and each one was better than the last. It was almost impossible to pick a favorite for our save the date!! He provides three files: high resolution for printing, smaller files for posting on line, and one with his water mark that he humbly requests you use on social media to help spread the word for his amazing services if you are so inclined. As if his talent wasn't enough, I would be remiss if I didn't mention his OUTSTANDING customer service. First, he was the only vendor I met with who wasn't late for our meeting. I almost hired him without speaking a word when he showed up early. He communicates with you every step of the way and provides updates and checks in so you know you haven't been forgotten as there is such a long time lapse from signing the contract to the actual day. He sent us a lovely Christmas gift over the holidays that was so unnecessary and completely appreciated. On our way home from the engagement shoot, we wanted to buy him dinner as a thank you and he insisted on treating us. Our wedding is four months away and I am so thankful I found Nathan to capture it for us. We are already so happy with his work every step of the way and know that he will provide us with the most beautiful memories of our day. By far the best wedding photographer we could ever ask for! My husband and I didn't know how much we were getting when we booked Nathan to shoot our wedding. However, he was the best person for the job. Let me start from the beginning... My husband, Joshua, and I were set on getting married in Southern California even though we had been living in the Bay Area for about four years. We met there, we grow our relationship there, had a lot of friends there--we had ties and wanted to "tie the knot" in an area that meant so much to us. We found a ceremony and reception location, and had begun to search for the vendors to make our dreams a reality. The reception site manager connected us to Nathan. We decided to meet with Nathan to get an initial sense of his style and to determine if we'd all get along. Because we didn't live in SoCal, we Skyped, coordinated a face-to-face meeting when we visited, and had several phone conversations. All of which resulted in booking Nathan as our photographer! We were set--until we had to change our wedding altogether. We found out that an important family member was not going to be able to make the trip down. Although we were sad about having to change EVERYTHING about our wedding (especially after paying deposits--ugh!), we were even more upset about the thought of searching for another photographer. We had gotten so comfortable with Nathan. We took a couple months for search for another venue in the Bay Area and then scheduled a conversation with Nathan to share the big news. Thankfully, he agreed to remain our photographer despite the location change. We were obviously thrilled! Fast-forwarding to a couple weeks before our wedding, Nathan did a fantastic job getting us ready and preparing himself to take the lead on the actual day. (Nathan had done this before for our engagement shoo. He was great with understanding our vision and keeping the situation low-stress.) Not only did he walked through the info sheet we completed to understand what we wanted and get his questions answered, but he sent us so many good vibes to keep us sane (you'll understand WHEN you book with him--*wink, wink*). We also sent him a Google Drive folder with inspiration pictures which he was able to incorporate and tailor to our style. Needless to say, the day of the wedding went off without a hitch (despite us getting behind schedule and Nathan getting us back on track). Nathan was able to take charge of our big families during the formal pictures--not an easy task! We recently received the final pictures and we can't express how elated we were with the product! Our pictures were absolutely gorgeous, captured our vision, and made us look like celebrities. His artist eye really came through and made every shot look like an editorial. Every single person who's seen our pictures tells us how amazing we look and how well Nathan did the job. Overall, Nathan delivered on his promise of telling our wedding story.
