DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID. I'm writing this review to save the next person from the stress, financial burden, and complete lack of accountability I have experienced with this company regarding my solar project. I entered this agreement in good faith, trusting the contractor and the financing partner to complete the work professionally and on time. Instead, what I received was unfinished work, poor communication, broken promises, and a project that was ultimately abandoned. Despite multiple attempts to get updates, clarification, or a timeline, I was met with silence, excuses, or passing the responsibility to someone else. Months later, I was still left with: A system that is NOT operational No follow-through from the contractor Financing still expecting payment for an incomplete job Zero ownership or urgency to fix the issue No homeowner should ever have to chase down a contractor just to get the work they were paid to do. No one should be left in limbo while a finance company expects payments on a system that doesn't even function. And no one should have to fight this hard for something that should have been handled correctly the first time. I am now dealing with the Contractors State License Board (CSLB) because the contractor abandoned the job, and I am still trying to get resolution. This experience has been stressful, time-consuming, and completely unacceptable. My advice to anyone considering this company: Do your research. Read the fine print. Demand proof of progress before any payment is released. And if something feels off -- walk away. I'm sharing my experience so the next person doesn't end up in the same situation. WARNING: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY This has been the worst experience I've ever had with any contractor. It's been over six months since I signed a contract with them, and I still have no solar panels or Tesla Powerwall batteries installed -- despite paying them the majority of the cost upfront. They constantly give me the runaround. Every time I ask for an installation date, they come up with excuses or delay responses for weeks. When they do reply, the messages are generic, unhelpful, and clearly designed to stall. Once they received my payment, they basically disappeared. This company operates under the names Nation Energy Services and Demand Construction. Be warned -- they take your money and fail to deliver on their promises. I've already filed a complaint with the California Contractors State License Board (CSLB), and I strongly urge anyone who has had similar issues to do the same. UPDATE: They tried to intimidate me by sending me a cease and desist letter for sharing my experiences and opinions with consumers. They are really not happy that I cancelled my contract. Pro-tip, cancel your loan immediately after you send them your notice of cancellation. This is not legal advice, only my personal experiences and opinions. We signed a contract in May, it's October and no solar. After you sign a contract they don't communicate. They assign new people to your project that have no knowledge about basic solar installs and they send you on a goose chase to each other trying to find answers to important questions. They give you fake install dates in order to placate you. They don't communicate with your City and you're forced to contact the city yourself and they reveal to you that they, too, have had a hard time reaching them. I luckily was able to cancel my contract (pay attention to your contract and hire a lawyer to help you understand it, if needed). What a waste of time and energy. 5 months of waiting for nothing. Nation Energy Services - Cease and Desist, apparent scare tactic for a bad review - Solar Installation Near Me - San Fernando, California

Stay as far away from Demand (aka National Energy Services) as possible and save yourself a ton of frustration. I inquired with salesman Jonathan Seber about the bad reviews I found on Yelp for National Energy Services (same company as Demand just rebranded). His response was "every company is going to have some bad reviews". I wish I trusted my gut at that point and went with an alternate company instead as been nothing but delays, excuses, and frustration with Demand through the whole process and bad workmanship too damaging my roof. Demand Construction used Eletech as a subcontractor and their lack of doing things properly caused large delays in my project resulting in not getting permission to operate (PTO) for almost 6 months from my initial scheduled installed date. The problems started from the start when they cancelled my installation the night before. Two weeks later, they finally came to work less than 4 hours. In those 4 hours, they managed to install flashing wrong including upside down, bending my shingles, and adding unnecessary holes to my roof where they didn't hit rafters. They did not even come back to work on it again for a whole week. I contacted Demand in this time along with drone photos of the subpar work. They at least had them redo the work they had done to make it proper. From the date they first started working to "completing" the job was 2 weeks where 31 panels and 2 Powerwall 3s should only take a couple days, not weeks. I questioned the installer about the fact that there were no disconnects installed even though original engineering wiring diagram showed them. He said that not necessary but if required Demand would come back and add them. Well, they definitely were required as Centerpoint refused PTO without them. So almost 2 months later Eletech was back to install them...but of course my ability to sell power delayed because they were not done initially. Well, they leave and then I look at the work they did. Heck if they did not install used disconnect boxes on my brand-new solar installation. I complained to Demand about this but nothing was done right away. Well, another 2 months pass and I still do not have PTO. Then I find out Centerpoint requested information plates be installed on the system. It took a whole month before Eletech / Demand finally came and installed them. Part of this process, they finally replaced the USED disconnect boxes they had put on my house with new ones after I stressed how unacceptable it was and how the punchouts on the box were open to where anyone could stick their finger into it and get electrocuted (was open like this for 3 months!). I noticed after this visit that the Eletech crew did not reinstall 2 bolts into my Powerwall cover and they took them with them. I have been asking Eletech and Demand both to give me back my bolts or replace them for 5 months now and still getting the run around and no action. I did at least get PTO and could finally start selling electricity about 1 week after the information plates were finally installed. If Eletech and Demand knew what they were doing, they would have had the disconnects and info plates installed from the very beginning instead of it all dragging out an extra 5 months. I also have never received any document or certificate from Demand saying exact day my install was completed for warranty purposes. My system was not installed according to their initial engineering documentation either. My Powerwalls are in my garage and they originally showed them outside my house. I have been trying to get actual wiring and equipment diagrams from Demand for several months now and I keep getting "sorry we are working towards it". Again just frustrating. So, while I do have a functioning solar system, I am would highly advise against using both Demand and Eletech. I hope all the extra holes they put in my roof during install do not lead to problems down the road. read more

Demand Construction/Solar, whatever they change it to won't change the fact that this fly-by-night, SCAM of a company has stolen over $16,000 from my family and given us nothing more than empty promises, excuses and lies. Contracted in March, and by November still nothing. We contacted them asking for a refund, but suddenly they stopped communicating their lies and are now ghosting us and will not respond. This review is about the company called 'Demand Construction', what's in Yelp is probably it's older name. I signed a contract with them for installing rooftop solars in July 2024. One year later, I still don't have a usable system. I was told the installation will be in Oct 2024, then it was pushed to Jan 2025, then Feb 2025, then March 2025. The common pattern was: they give us a vague date, nothing happened, no status update/explanations either, then we had to ask multiple times to get another vague date. We finally lost patience and had some angry exchange with them, we were offered a small discount as apology and the installation was finally done at end of April. However, it took them another 2 months to get the government approval and PGE PTO etc. It never took my friend that long, but we assumed it was not their fault and waited patiently. They sent the final invoice and ask us to pay, said they won't move forward to next step before we pay. This is one of the rare cases they reach out to us proactively. We were not comfortable paying them without even seeing the system up and running, but after some back and forth, they promised to 'commission' the system on July 8th, and we paid the majority of the balance. Of course, they didn't come on July 8th. I repeatedly asked them what time they will come on July 8th, and they finally responded on July 8th and said their team sent a notice of postpone yesterday. No, I didn't get ANY notice. What's more ironic is, even now, 5 days later, they can't even come up with a date of when they will come and 'commission' the system. They kept saying 'we are not forgetting you, we are working hard on it...', but I don't know what kind of business will need 5 days to setup an appointment. I have to guess that their original promise of July 8th is just a lie to get me pay them, and for whatever reason they won't be able to 'commission' my system till much later. I think this is a dishonest business, or a SCAM. The long delay, terrible communication and constant lies caused a lot of stress and inconvenience to my life. read more

Delay after delay, lie after lie about the cause of the delay. I signed a contract with Demand back in October, and here we are midway through April and it's still not complete. It's been Tesla's fault for not shipping them enough product, it was PG&E's fault for delays in getting the backup switch hooked up (when the backup switch wasn't even on site, yet they blamed PG&E). And now they're telling me it will be up to another three months before San Jose can do final inspection. But no dates can be given. All in all, we're looking at 9 months to bring 17 solar panels and one power wall online. When I talked to the PG&E guy who hooked up the backup switch his jaw dropped when I told him how long it's been. He hadn't seen anything like that with any of the other site's he's visited. I will say so far their work seems good. It's rained a bunch and no leaks detected. I did catch by camera one of their workers drilling holes in the porch roof while another one said "a little more to your left. No, right now, left, left". I'm not in construction but I've got to imagine there's a better way to ensure you're drilling into the rafter vs just the plywood. This is the second home I've put solar on, so I don't feel like I have unreasonable expectations. But there's no transparency here. Terrible company to work with. I also wanted a PW3 expansion pack, which they said they could get me later, and now they're telling me that it'll be 6-9 months before they can get those in stock due to "industry delays". Meanwhile I got quotes from several other companies, one of which I worked with prior and know to be good company, and they've all said they have them on hand and can install immediately. it's now June and they won't respond to me about the status. I'm still in limbo having paid them $20k and no permission to operate. read more

I am a general contractor for large luxury custom home applications and have worked with probably a dozen solar companies (mostly the clients, but I'm usually roped in since it affects overall project scope). Most aren't great, but I was specifically looking for a company that would allow me to dictate where I wanted my panels and how I wanted them placed, as I know solar companies tend to come in and completely screw homeowners on telling them they NEED to place equipment in an area when that is total baloney. They just want to make money and pay as little as possible for labor they can, so they TELL YOU you HAVE TO do something a certain way, which is not true at all, electrically or speaking about code. But this company has been THE WORST SOLAR COMPANY I have ever worked with (god, excuse the irony since im a GC) I spoke to someone in the beginning who promised me that was what they were all about, and that I could talk to a project manager that would make sure all my requests would be taken care of, AND I EVEN SAID I WOULD BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO PAY MORE TO MAKE SURE I GOT WHAT I WANTED. His name was Noah. He lied. Pretty hardcore. The company came, did the normal run around. We had multiple problems including the ENTIRE SYSTEM BEING FLOODED WITH WATER BECAUSE THEY DID NOT SEAL THE CONDUIT CORRECTLY AT ALL. Awesome. Great idea guys. Then since we didnt have a Project Manager assigned, we deal with a complete blowhard named Pablo Valdivia. He is a master liar. And should never be given a job anywhere. Felt like he was a nominal PM, but he gave us the run around so hard. So many fake promises, so many lies. We are currently owed a significant refund from this company of around $7-800 for a PGE Bill that occurred when their system shut down without us knowing, and we ended up paying for a huge A/C bill because things were somehow turned off and they let us know when we called "Oh the limit for the top amount of energy to be produced and running through the system was incorrect, we have fixed it now" but of course, we had a massive PGE Bill and they said they would refund us, and put it in multiple emails, and its been 3 months. This is after about a dozen shutoffs where I had asked WHY THE SYSTEM is shutting down on its own. So to summarize, from an expert in the industry with an electrical license of my own, THIS COMPANY SHOULD BE AVOIDED AT ALL COSTS. PICK LITERALLY ANY OTHER COMPANY AND YOU WILL SAVE YOURSELF ALL SORTS OF HOUR LONG EXTRA PHONE CALLS FOR THE MOST BASIC THINGS TO BE COMPLETED AND AVOID SYSTEM PROBLEMS LIKE FLOODING AND SYSTEM SHUTDOWNS. read more

I'm adding a new review in hopes to actually get someone's attention. Back in June the solar didn't work so we were charged a bunch of extra money from our energy company. When I told the solar company, their customer service agreed they would pay us back $371 of the bill. However it's now almost October and we haven't received the refund. In addition, no one ever calls me back or explains what's going on. I cannot say this enough: GO WITH ANOTHER COMPANY. This one is beyond terrible. read more

I'm pretty sure this company has changed it's name to Demand Construction. The address is the same. I make it a priority to assume the best when working with people and companies, and I rarely write negative reviews. I do not recommend using this company, given my very negative experience. I signed a contract with a 60-day install guarantee at the end of September 2024, so the install would be completed before the end of 2024. Design and permitting took about 60 days. First, there was a battery shortage, followed by a panel shortage. I was given 2 different install dates in the spring, only to be cancelled (one of which I learned about when I called the day before). In July, I was told the system could be installed in 2 weeks if I was willing to use a lower-grade panel. I agreed to this, but Demand was unable to accomplish what they promised. In early August at the 10-month point, I requested a refund and was told they could install it within a month, give or take a few days. If not, they promised a refund of all the money I had already paid toward the project. Not surprisingly, after another month, Demand emailed that they were "targeting" an install date about 2 weeks outside of that period. I'm done. I have sent a letter and email officially canceling the project. I want all my money back. I'm tired of broken promises, delays, and poor communication. Demand has had $30,521.94 of my money for about 9 months. In a follow-up call to check the status of my project, I was told the project is cancelled, and I should expect a check in 4-6 weeks. I'm posting this review from Demand Construction's web site. We are in AZ and they were recommended by EnergySage. After the initial contact and signing the contract we had a real good sales person. However that sales person called to tell us that he was leaving the company. We paid the initial $1000 when signing the contract and paid the first installment of over $6000. We have called and emailed the company several times but no one calls or emails us back. We tried going to their office here in Tucson but it's an empty building. We have sent registered letters to the address on our contract and to this CA address. The letter to the address on our contract could not be delivered but the one in CA was signed for but still no communication. We have asked for a refund as per the termination clause in the contract but of course no communication from Demand Constuction. I would not recommend this company. read more

I'm having a terrible time with Demand Construction. There were several delays and then they finally scheduled my install 2 1/2 months after I signed my contract. They did not show up for my scheduled install and no one contacted me until 5pm that day. They indicated there was a problem with the materials so had to reschedule for the following week. When they showed up the following week, they informed me they needed to change the way the panels would be installed on my roof even though I had received the designs and they were approved by the city. They scheduled to come back the following week to install batteries and panels, but only installed the batteries and they said they would come a few days later to complete the electrical work and to install the panels. Again, no show and no one contacted me to explain what happened nor to reschedule. The communication has been horrible and their follow through worse. In addition, I was told that they do not use subcontracts, but I received a Preliminary Notice about a subcontractor that could potentially file a lien against my house if they were not paid by On Demand. I began a solar construction project with Demand Construction (also called Nation Energy Services) in September of 2024 for a roof repair, main panel upgrade, and solar install with an estimated completion date of April 2025 which did not happen, and still has not happened. At the time of signing the agreement with Demand, most of the reviews were positive and the team seemed professional, so I felt good about engaging with them. Once the initial paperwork was signed and they got my money for the permitting, I had extreme difficulty making contact with my project manager, operations contact, or anyone else on the team. When I did eventually make contact I was told a bunch of different excuses that there were "no new updates to share", or that their subcontractors had delayed or cancelled on them, material shortages etc. etc. with no updated dates or plans to complete the work. Recently I have been making repeated calls to their customer support team, waiting on hold for half an hour, just to get connected and learn that there has been no response from anyone on the management team to any of my requests for update. I'm so frustrated and disappointed, and I can't believe that this company is allowed to continue taking peoples money and scamming them. Reading recent reviews and complaints it seems that others are having an identical experience to me. I can't recommend Demand Construction less, and hope that others find my review and save themselves time, money, and stress. read more

If you want to deal with a company that talks a lot but delivers very little and also asks you to finance them for extended period of time, then this is your company. At no time did Nation Energy Services warn me about SCE NEM rules/policies regarding mandatory NEM changes for solar panel system sizes. BE VERY CAREFUL if you are adding additional solar panels to your home because Solar Panel Installation companies like Nation Energy Services will not warn you about SCE mandatory NEM changes! read more

We signed a contract with Demand in August. They have "45 day install guarantee". It is now mid- February. We've paid over $20k in deposits, and I do not believe they have any intention of completing step 1 of the work (a master panel upgrade), let alone the solar panels, battery, or EV charger. Demand Construction did not install my Battery Back Up capabilities with my 3 Enphase 5p Batteries. I paid for Battery Back Up and have it in contract that the Battery backup was supposed to be installed. I was installed in January 2024 and have been asking them to ACTIVATE my system and barely in August 2024 my system was PTOed. The big problem is they NEVER installed the Battery Backup so during my last power outage, I had no power. I have kids and a family which is why i specifically got battery back up. The company refuses to give a copy of my contract because they know it says battery back up on it. Also, they were supposed to reimburse me $2900 for 4 months ($725 a month) for the 4 months my system was not activated after the loan was funded. I use HomeRun Financing and paid 66,999.00 but never received the backup battery loads that i signed for. This is a bad company, they do not want to do the right things and complete what i paid for. The crazy part is they are advertising that they are the best solar company out there which is a lie and I will continue to let others know including the news if they do not come and install exactly what I paid for. I am very displeased with Demand Construction. I trust me I gave them the time (7 months) and the opportunity (texts and emails) to make things right and deliver what I paid for. Anything they say will just be an excuse because they don't have any money to fix their homeowners issue, things that they screwed up on. Literally everything. Worst company I have ever had to work with. Completely unprofessional. Can't keep their business license current, leading to delays in everything. Been waiting since July for solar. They are slow. They don't communicate with their customers at all. I've called dozens of times to get no or seldom a response. I wish we could pull out but my idiot husband has paid 2/3 of the cost of our system now with nothing to show for it, and not an install date in sight. I hate this company and I hope they go out of business. I really do. They have ever excuse you can imagine and they all are just BS. If you are so unlucky as to get Molly as your project manager, I'm so sorry. You will never hear a word from her. She is the least effective PM on the planet. She literally had to be threatened with a lawsuit to call back 1 time. And then after agreeing to weekly tough calls, has since never called or contacted us again. By the time our solar gets installed, I won't even want it. I'm so mad and bitter at this point; I'd rather just keep paying PG&E. At least they show up and do their jobs keeping the lights on. Demand Construction is basically my PPA provider. I sign the contract in March, I was told this will be done in max 2 months and they have installed the panels back in June. From day 1 this is fiasco, during the installation they saw something in the initial inspection was missed. We have to wait for that. Than the HW they used looks cheap, I saw other installations and it looks much more professional. Than they had to resubmit the plans which took another few months. Finally after spending days on the phone trying to get their reply we passed that lastonth (Oct). Today 9/6/24 I still don't have solar we started the winter so no much sun and it will continue to be a disaster. MY RECOMMENDATION IF YOU SEE THE NAME DAMAND CONSTRUCTION RUN AWAY, THEY REPRESENT ONLY TROUBLE AND WASTE OF TIME. UNRESPONSIVE. WAITING ONE YEAR FROM CONTRACT SIGNING AND STILL NOT OPERATIONAL While there seem to be some good people working here, reps, installers, the overall company seems disorganized and rather disingenuous to deal with. I had a system sold to me November 2023. I saw it installed, after a few delays and date changes a few months later (Feb 2024). It is now 1 year on (November 2024) and I am still waiting for the system to be inspected and become operational, PTO as they call it. The system failed initial inspection because, as I later found out, Demand screwed up the plans and the paperwork and had to make corrections and re-submit. The process from this point to now has far exceeded my initial wait from signing to install. What's worse is the lack of communication from the company through the entire process. I finally heard from them in September 2024 when they contacted me looking for a favorable review and referrals. Laughable. I told them I was not so inclined and apprised the woman from Demand of my situation. She acted surprised and told me she would let the proper people know and get back to me. I never heard anything back. My sales rep, who has now left the solar industry due in part to Demand owing him and other sales reps money, was great and was responsive as could be for a good number of months. But he even admitted to me to be mostly in the dark, chasing the company's project management team for answers. I also learned the rep was not getting paid for the job until it was fully installed and operational. Poor salesperson is still being strung along, and last I talked to him told me he figures he will never see his commission. I feel for my sales rep, someone I have gotten to know through this long, prolonged process. Seems the company is taking advantage of its independent sales reps -- I understand my rep, and I am guessing most reps, are independent contractors, not full-time salaried employees. It would be one thing if my panels were not only installed and were now operational, but the very fact this process has been so unnecessarily drawn out has led me to look into matters more and really begin to put Demand under the microscope.I know that all solar installers are somewhat beholden to local government permitting, and that this is usually the root of PTO delays. But here, the mistake made by Demand caused my account to have to go through permitting twice. It is clearly their incompetence that has caused this delay. But not once did anyone reach out to me or apologize for this. It was only through the honesty and candor of my sales rep that I found this out. This is the second time I am posting a review here. The first time, months ago, caused enough of a stir that the rep reached out to me and asked that I take it down. Told me Demand was threatening to sue for defamation. Guess they would rather make threats than deal with matters with their customers and reps from a place of honesty and integrity. That was the last I heard from the rep. And other than the solicitation call from Demand asking for a review and referrals, I have still not heard a thing and have not been able to get a hold of anyone.Still waiting for my 2nd final inspection. Hoping they get it right this time and my system can finally be switched on. But I am not holding my breath.My recommendation to anyone reading this -- check out more reputable solar companies when looking into solar. Look for a company that has a long, multi-year track record in this space and can show it. (Sunrun, Freedom Forever are companies I found out about and researched in the long wait since signing with Demand). From my experience to date, I have to say I have a very bitter taste in my mouth. The company seems poorly managed and very unprofessional, dysfunctional even.It's a shame. I was sold on the initial quality service as much as I was sold on the quality product. But the same product is on offer elsewhere too, and in some places, at a better price. Do your homework, and beware of Demand. I will consider taking this posting down if and when Demand finally finishes what they started and contracted. The panels and system are here, on my roof and garage, not operational, just taking up space. Either that, or come and get your equipment and cancel my contract. This company is a joke! The permits for my solar were approved on May 25, 2024. The solar system was installed on June 1, 2024. The first "final inspection" took place on July 15th after I texted and called to help make it happen. Five failed "final inspections" later, countless phone calls, emails, and texts later and I still don't have a final inspection rescheduled until November 11th, 2024. Since I know the city planner of Visalia, he told me that the Demand Construction team could schedule a new final inspection within 24 hours of having everything fixed, even if it's requested every day of the week and it failed on five different days. At this point I don't know when they will ever complete the project since completing a project doesn't seem to be a priority. I would recommend against ever using their services and choosing another vendor for solar. read more

You do not want to use this company. They lack in any business processes and leave the customer constantly guessing what is happening with their project. Even the most basic house battery install has well exceeded their committed timeline and there is no light to completion. It's beyond frustrating to deal with anyone, if they even give you contact info, which they do not. Would never recommend them for any work. read more
