Do not rent from this location. First let me start by saying I have been an emerald club member for the past 10 years and only rented from National. Upon arriving, I was given a car with 40k+ miles, lights that didn't work and an awful smell that permeated through the entire car (I had to drive with the windows open at all times.) I immediately called National and was sent to Roadside Assistance who told me to return the car the next day. I arrived right when they opened, was told there were not any vehicles available and to come back later, which I did. Again, no vehicles available. Daniel M., the Manager had no problem allowing me to drive with an unsafe car. Acknowledged the smell in the car. Said it was probably from the place who fixes their tires and didn't have anything to say about the lights. When I returned the car, Daniel gave me his card and claimed he would take care of the bill, which he did not. I sent him an email. No response. Called and he pretended not to remember me (which was completely unbelievable) and then said the contract was closed so basically too bad. He then let me know that if I fight the bill with my credit card, i will be put on a do not rent list in the future. One might consider that a threat. I called National multiple times, emailed, received a claim number and the promise of a return call from corporate, then local and to this day, none of the calls came. We decided to fight the credit card bill and National had the audacity to claim there were no complaints about the car. I have since rented from SIXT which is absolutely amazing. Quality cars and more importantly quality service. For the amount of money car rentals charge these days, this National location is not worth it. read more

I was really impressed by the volume that this tiny neighborhood location does. Both, when we were picking up, and dropping off, we saw a steady stream of customers picking up and dropping off. The inside was handled by the manager and one employee, and I saw at least one employee pulling the cars up. Everyone was pleasant, competent, and a pleasure to interact with. The selection at this location varied from being nearly sold out when we picked up to being fully stocked when we returned. This will be our go-to location in the future. read more

Showed up at 10am on a Monday morning to pickup a reserved vehicle. Office is closed although corporate says they are open. I waited around an hour with a dozen other customers. National's help desk said they couldn't reach the branch manager so we gave up and left. Dozens of customers travel messed up today. Thanks National! read more

Unfortunately, I can't give it zero stars. DO NOT GO HERE. Eugene, one of the guys there, is rude and dismissive. We made a reservation and came in rather gingerly to the location. Eugene said before we could finish our first sentence that we can't get a car today. He said it has to be 24 hours notice to get a car (I never heard of such a thing and I have been renting cars forever - if the website says there is availability, there is availability). Then he dismissed us! And we are Executive Members! And Kevin, the assistant manager, who was a nice guy, like someone else on Yelp said, but he didn't try to help us either! I rent all the time with National for work. This location in Boca Raton is by far the worst one. I always have issues either with cars (dirty, smelly, bad selection, tank empty, etc.) or customer service (when mention any of car issues they just ignore you or tell you that is all they have). Kevin, the assistant manager was VERY KIND & HELPFUL! Last week i rented a car from Hertz, in Boca Raton, and they were EXTREMELY RUDE!!! JOHNATHAN , had an attitude after he had to credit back my account. He had to credit my account because he told me MULTIPLE times that if i returned BEFORE midnight, he would charge me one day rental , and he charged me for over two days! Eventhough i know that it goes off calendar days, he promised 3 times if i returned it before midnight, That was only a one day charge. All carbon tell companies are horrible but I guess for Boca Alamo, national at this specific location only is the absolute best car rental option in Boca Raton Florida. I have also had multiple other problems with other car rental agencies except for this one. read more

I scheduled a car from this location over two weeks in advance, with a scheduled pick up of Dec 22. Two hours before my scheduled pick up, I received a call from National letting me know that due to storms up north the previous week, they had many trips down cancelled resulting in no cars to fulfill my reservation. I was then told on Dec 23 that I was next on the waiting list at 9AM and 2 cars were scheduled to arrive by 10:30am. This 'You're first on the waitlist' narrative continued every time I called over the next 2 days, yet I never received a car. I finally was able to pick up a car 4 days after my initial reservation - completely missing Christmas and left stranded away from family. If the storms caused that many trips to be cancelled the week before, why was the company not proactive about bringing more cars in? Additionally, if this happened the week prior, why was I notified 2 hours before my schedule pick up, at which point every car rental place was sold out given the holiday. No apology, no discount, and ultimately paid 2x the original quote due to the new pick up time. Insane. Will not be using this company again. read more

Five stars to Rachel Brown at Boca Raton 33432 took care of me. I received a 2016 Chrysler Town and Country with only 14000 miles to take one way 24 hours for $202 total, including all taxes, fees, unlimited miles, and add-ons. I took out one star because there is no home drop off ten minutes away from airport after you paid so much to rent one day. Also, I came in person for a minivan and I was quoted $336 by a different employee. I went online directly on National's website, $234 with insurance and extra driver. I reserved online and Rachel gave me a further discount. $141 one way rental, $22 loss damage waiver, $13 supplemental liability insurance, $5 RAP, $10 extra driver, $2 florida, $1 license, $9 tax at 6%. Suggestion for renting cars is to go in person to see what is in stock and present, then book online for better price. The company has more competition price wise online but expect you to be lazy on research to take high price as a walk-in. Fair enough, businesses make money but my job is to save money. Also, rental car companies share cars when they are at the same location, such as Alamo and National at this location and they even share with Hertz and Enterprise at the airport as I am told by multiple employees. read more

I wish I could place a no-star review here. This place left my daughter stranded at their facility for hours without a vehicle which was reserved 3 weeks prior to her arrival. The only response was that they were very sorry but didn't have vehicles available. What is the point in reserving a Premier Vehicle, showing up to find absolutely no vehicles available and then having to drive away in a vehicle similar to a compact, mini-car? In addition, after speaking with management, we were told that a supervisor would contact us. 3 days later, no response. Call again? Don't bother. Bocca Raton FL location: did research online comparing prices. Ended up with This National rental. Reserved a car for 2 drivers with navigation. When we walked in the guy at the desk had an attitude ( obviously not meant to be in the people service business). I'm usually friendly in situations like this but refrained from any unnecessary conversation. They tried to charge us for the navigation and the extra driver. After insisting that it was in my reservation they ended up not charging extra for the nav (only because it's built in the car), but they did add the extra driver. We ended up paying $40 more than the reservation. Unfortunately booking through Expedia I only had the reservation with total dollar amount without the breakdown of what was included. They said we had half a tank of gas but the car was on empty! I NEVER picked up a rental car with an empty gas tank. We had suitcases which they never offered to help with, the car was parked over a drain with a stream of soap water so WE had to move the car just to get in. Just an unfriendly situation which in today's world puts a business out of business. I will not use National again nevermind this specific location, the company lost my business for good. BTW, once we filled the tank the car is fine. No problems with it. read more

Awful experience. Terrible. Rented a car here several weeks ago. They overbooked by approximately 20 cars. Not only did they not have the correct cars for customers but they didn't have enough. Many customers including myself wasted a day of our hard earned vacations trying to get a car that we had reserved months in advance. 8 hours later when I finally received my car, there were several issues with he car including an unfilled tank of gas. The district manager refusted to speak with me the day of. Since then, I have placed 5 calls for the district manager and have two open cases but noone still has returned my call to address all issues and attempt to care to prevent this from happening again. Truly embarassing. The lack of customer service following this issue really amazes me and is embarassing. read more

Terrible service and highway robbery. Rented a car for 10 days for $220. So far so good. Was unable to go back to Boca and returned the car at Fort Lauderdale Airport. They put a $300 surcharge on it and would not change it. Reduce it by $100 after several calls to National. Go to the airport if you must use National. read more

Absolutely abysmal. Rented a car from this location months in advance. Came in Christmas night, they did not have my vehicle and did not even have the KEYS to a comparable vehicle. We had 5 people and needed 5 seats, they kept trying to put us in a 2 door, 4 passenger convertible! Even when we tried to reason with them they did not understand the passenger to seat ratio. Waited over an hour and a half until 1:30 am when we got a compact car and then had to wait 15 MORE minutes to check out. Don't try calling the direct line like they advised us to do to fix this issue, no one will answer because the line is dead. Have called 2x and been through multiple customer service reps totaling about 45 minutes each, finally had to give a giant face palm when I was transferred to the O'Hare airport in Chicago when I told the rep I rented the car in West Palm. Never have I experienced such terrible customer service. I feel like I'm in the twilight zone! The best part? They charged us same price for the luxury executive sedan as they did the compact clown car I drove away with! read more

I rented a car from Alamo/Enterprise that I picked up at the Ft Lauderdale airport. Checked in at hotel in Boca Raton Florida. The next day we go out for dinner the tire pressure light came on. They sent out a guy from service to replace the tire with the donut spare. Two Alamo customer service rep said I can switch out the car at another place which is close to the hotel we are staying at. I get to the place this morning to switch out the car. They said they have no cars available to swap out and to take it to the Firestone place they have a contract with and I could get it fixed. Why do I have to drive around to find a place to get the tire fixed and wait an hour on my vacation? I called customer service and no one is helping out. I'll never rent a car from this company again. The manager Jeff Stein at the Boca Raton location didn't not go above and beyond for his customer. I'm waiting for a phone call from the regional manager. Let see if they call. read more
