Thankfully I was on a bike and went to the next Enterprise location up the highway about a mile and a half away. I told the lady at the desk what was going on and she had no apology. No explanation. No one had called me or emailed me to tell me that that branch was closed. Thankfully I was able to get my car but what a waste of time and lack of customer service!

We called Alamo (either a bad tire or a bad sensor). They said we would have to drive the hour back to the airport to return the car. Two of the people we spoke with (Chris and Chavonne sp?) actually hung up on us when we said this would take us 3 hours to resolve. Refused to send a replacement car because it was beyond the "corporate limit" of 16 miles. They obviously don't do preventative maintenance properly on their vehicles, which should make you a bit uncomfortable about renting from them. Their service was horrific. Thank god we were safe at our resort. What would have happened if we were stranded on the road? Update: Arne third person we called arranged to have the car towed and for an Uber to the rental car office. Still took considerable time. At the office we met with Roxanne, the manager. She was amazing and apologetic. She upgraded our car and offered a rebate. We still lost a lot of our vacation time but she really demonstrated a customer focused attitude.

Instead of answering a basic question, the agent became extremely rude, repeatedly yelling and screaming at us. Her behavior was completely erratic, unprofessional and caught us off guard, especially with our 8-year-old child present. She repeatedly ordered us to leave the property, so we complied and exited the office. However, while we were still inside the gated rental lot, she attempted to close and lock the gate, leaving us scrambling to get out before we were locked inside, while she got into a car and soed away. We were then left stranded outside in nearly 100-degree heat. Her erratic behavior was so alarming that we felt we had no choice but to call the police, which we did right was she started closing the barbed gate to the property. We never rented a vehicle, yet there is still a pending charge on our credit card that we will be disputing. We have photographs, videos, and police involvement documenting what happened, and we will also be pursuing this directly with Avis/Budget corporate. I strongly recommend avoiding this location. Forget professional, this place is unsafe.

We dropped the car off here and then walked across the street to the pathway along the beach and walked back to the Sheraton. I'm so glad we did because I saw some interesting things along the way that I probably wouldn't have seen if I hadn't dropped the car off here. In particular, there is a cluster of very high-end homes in this one section of the beach. These things are like $10,000,000+. go look them up on Zillow.

With prebooking, getting the paperwork and keys was quite simple, and they have a decent selection of cars to choose from What I don't like is how inconvenient it is to pick up and drop off your car. It's a good half mile walk from the Hyatt, and there isn't a single sign to help navigate to where you should go. So give yourself at least 30 minutes to figure things out if it's your first time renting from this location. Also, when I picked up the car, the tank was about 80% full, and when I returned the car at 90% full I was charged a fuel fee which I eventually had to dispute. I tried calling when I grabbed the car to let them know about the fuel level, but nobody answers the phone so I knew I'd have to deal with it after the fact.

So, our small kids are sweating and restless for an hour after being trapped on a plane for 5. But wait! It gets better (or worser) We make it all the way to Budget's lot, locate the car - GREAT! Exactly the car we had booked. But wait! Why is someone in my car? And trying to back up and drive it away??? So we're outside the car looking confused. The people inside the car are mortified. We both realize we were assigned the same car. Well, since they were already in said car with all their luggage packed into it, we were brought to an alternate vehicle, a significantly older car. On the plus side, the AC was the highlight of the vehicle and it didn't break for the amount of driving we did.
