It's been a few years since my last review and since I recently came in, it's time for a new review, especially at their new location within PIT airport. Service is still great! Everyone I encountered was helpful and friendly! The selection of vehicles in the Executive Isle was amazing, more than one BMW to choose from and I snagged a fully loaded X3, which was amazing to drive and was brand new, only a thousand miles on it. Checking back in was easy too! The best part is that with PIT's new main, landside terminal, everything it walkable without taking a silly tram or train... Love this! Stopped in to exchange a constantly software updating vehicle. I asked the manger Bob and he was extremely dismissive and unhelpful! One of the worst experience I have had with national. Even tho I am executive elite and rent 6-8 months of the year for business. To top it all off they parked us in and the staff would not let us out/move the vehicles for 30 additional minutes! When they did offer us a vehicle it was a smaller and basic level vehicle for traveling over 1,000 miles. Terrible location to work with ! read more

This Pittsburgh Airport location has always served me pretty well. I rent here when back in town and have had some good cars in the Executive section, and sometimes in just the Emerald Aisle. Service is always friendly and it's easy to get to from the baggage claim area. I've had Cadillacs, Infinintis, and other "luxury" vehicles here and will continue to rent here when flying to Pittsburgh. Mostly because of loyalty and skipping the counter! read more

My flight was delayed 8 hours in advance of my arrival to Pittsburgh Airport. We were admittedly assured someone would wait up to two hours for us and had our reservation on file. Prior to take off our flight was further delayed but we were to arrive by 1am local time. Counter said they closed at 1am so would wait up to 3am. By the time I got off plane quickly and got tram down to ground transportation ALL the car rentals counters were closed. About a dozen families were stranded here with no option. When I called customer service only response was sorry I can't help you. They didn't even have a supervisor to speak to. No one call staffing to handle this situation. Many other families shared like me had called ahead to leave flight details and were all told the same thing that someone would wait. They advised me to go to another car rental counter to get a vehicle because they all "partner" together but could not give me a number or even call Enterprise or others to facilitate a solution. When I proceeded to explain no one else was open either the only response I got was "oh". We have to wait until 5am when the counter opens again. This was first time renting from National and probably the last. They don't follow their policy and seem to report in accurate information and are not supported my their management to provide resources to problem solve for customers. Love love love bypassing the counter! Both the emerald and executive aisles have great options readily available at all hours. Cars are clean and mostly free of offensive odors. Because its "self serve" I can easily move along to another vehicle if that pesky smoker odor is prevalent when opening the door. Checking out is relatively smooth. I've spent the entire day trying to speak with somebody at the national car rental desk at Pittsburgh International Airport. During my last rental, I was told there was no vehicles available. As I prepare to fly into Pittsburgh tomorrow, I am trying to verify that a vehicle will be available for me. Additionally, with 5 inches of snow expected, I want to verify that the vehicle has appropriate snow tires for safety purposes. Why the piss can I not speak with somebody at that desk? How is a customer service representative three states away supposed to help me with what vehicles are available at my arrival time? This is a complete failure on the part of Enterprise Holdings and will be the last time I rent from them. I haven't even gotten to the airport yet and I'm this pissed off. read more

I've gotten cars from this location plenty of times over the years. I'm executive so I just head to the garage, grab the car if my choice and I'm out. No issue. However my last trip was different. I had an evening flight that was delayed. It lands and we rush to the rental counter because it's late and we are all tired. There were a few on the flight with reservations to either National or Enterprise as we all seemed to flock together. However the cars for those counters were gone. Never did it dawn on me that it included a car for me. The counter was dark. We stood wandering between the two booths screaming hello. A guy appeared. White guy, in a trench. He waves his hands up and says, "all the cars are gone. We gave them all away. We are sold out. Try again tomorrow." But... we had a reservation and our flight number was linked to it. What do you mean no cars, try again tomorrow? He disappears..we stand there in disbelief. I am forced to take an Uber to a location I've never visited. I'm here for work. I'd be driving around PA for 3 days. Well, that was the plan. The car ride with the stranger was 2hrs. It was so unsafe, from the time, dark roads, stranger, and going into the sticks. The rest of my week was anxiety, long waits, survival skills, high expense and begging for rides to get from point A to B. Im entering an area with no Ubers or taxis, I had no idea and why would I... I was supposed to have a car. The one car rental facility for the county was 15mi away and found to be sold out in cars. I had to beg a black car company to drive from Pittsburg to come get me. Coming back to Pittsburg, Ubers & Lyft cancel rides and all cars are 25mibs away. The week was hell. So stressful, so expensive. So I tweet National, I get acknowledgement and then put on hold for an investigation that never happens. I tweet southwest, they immediately respond, apologize and offer a voucher as the issue was with the crew. Given I work for a major company, I will be recommending to make Hertz now preferred as I know for a fact that they leave you a car and respects all reservations. They also communicate effectively. If an evening flight, I don't recommend you rent here. The local counter nor the company as a whole honors you nor protects your safety & patronage. In this day, women are trafficked & harmed. I was deliberately put in harms way with zero care. I don't support that and regardless if at this location or another, you won't be getting this company card or this company's patronage again. read more

Great experience with National Car Rental. I accidentally left my pad folio in my rental car, upon my return to Nashville International Airport on 10.9.2024. In it were important meeting notes-and my passport! I didn't realize it until I had gone through TSA. I went back to the National pick up area to let them know. One of National's team members, Josh Aguilar, not only assisted me, he went above and beyond what most people would do. He went to the cleaning area to look for my rental then went up to the service area to look for the car. He also called the rest of the team to make sure the car wasn't re-rented before he could search the vehicle. The man was hustling! He eventually found the vehicle and it was brought to the rental area where we found my lost items. Please let management at Nashville International Airport know what a great employee he is. Rented a luxury extended suv. It was awesome the suv was amazing. This rental went almost perfect until I dropped it off. I left my wallet in the door. I walked away for 2 mins came back to grab it they already took the suv to clean and when my wallet was found all my cash was stolen. They did give me a credit but that's not the point. Trust is big. Hopefully if I decide to rent again here this don't happen! read more

National Rental had initially gotten me out of a huge jam while I was visiting Pittsburgh, so I definitely how to shout that out. On my recent visit, I actually booked with another carrier, but when I arrived, I realized I had booked for the wrong day! Totally distraught, I found myself at National's counter. The customer service agent was super kind during my transaction. She had told me she worked to find the best deal possible, while it was much more than I would have paid with my other vehicle I screwed up on, I believed her that she was working with me. At the end of the transaction she mentioned not to worry about filling up my tank because she had it taken care of. I was so thankful! Little did I know that when I looked at my bill when I got home- she charged me for that service! Making me think she did it as a favor or an upgrade. Totally scammed me on that one. Aside from that, the car was great. Turning it in was simple and a breeze and I was able to get into the terminal almost immediately. Other than that snafu, the experience was okay. read more

When: June 19th to June 25th - Mid-Size Vehicle. As an Emerald Club member check-in and check-out was a breeze. Despite being our first time at the Pittsburgh airport, directional signage from the airport and rental car companies were clear & concise. We walked to the Emerald Club aisle from baggage claim, choose our vehicle, loaded our vehicle and we were headed to the exit gate. Service agent was very friendly, efficient and did his due dilligence of cross-selling. In a matter of minutes we were on the road. Returning the vehcile was just as efficient. Despite being 5:15 am in the morning, Service agent greated us cheerfully, completed his standard checks in a professional manner, printed out our receipt and we were off to the Airport check-in counter. The PIT rental car situation is unfortunate at best because the garage is unsecure, so you HAVE to stop at the company booth - but this true for all rental companies here. National has had a sign up about a "new" booth in the garage for over a year, so I don't that is going to happen anytime soon..... Biggest complaint is that you can NOT read the numbers for the cars...don't get why they cant paint new ones. Other wise its National and its to be an Executive member with them... read more

During my trip I was running late for my return flight and left my vest jacket in passenger seat in the rush to catch my flight. It was a fairly expensive vest that could have easily been taken never to be seen again. Thankfully, the people at National Pittsburg are full of INTEGRITY and HONESTY and they locate different My lost item within 2 days, turned it into lost and found and overnight shipped it to me fee of charge. I love National! These guys were great. I'm always traveling and want to get in and out. They are there to greet me, tell me to grab any car, and I'm on my way. There was a Chrysler 300 mixed in and he just said "oops, you're good to go" (with a smile). NEVER STAFFED. When you arrive from your flight, you have to find an attendant from a different company to help you! Or find airport customer service to locate National personnel. When you have a question or concern or need to contact this location, they do NOT answer the phone. When you try the corporate number, they give you the run around and tell you to contact the local Pittsburgh airport "during business hours", when it actually is business hours... And they don't actually provide anything of service or help you with your problem. Terrible customer service and unreliable experience. I rented a car at National from the Pittsburgh airport and I'm happy to report that I had a perfect experience. The final bill was exactly as quoted. I had to take a toll road to get where I was going so I was a little nervous since that's a perfect opportunity for rental car companies to come up with a bunch of undisclosed fees, but not National. They charged me the cost of the toll plus the $3.95 fee that was disclosed on the web site. That's all I want -- transparency. The car was really nice. I signed up for the loyalty club online when I booked and was extremely happy with the Emerald Aisle option where I could skip the rental desk, choose any car in the line and then drive off. I will certainly consider National again in the future because of this convenience, but every brand seems to be very hit or miss depending on the individual location. This one was great. read more

Signage is a little iffy getting out of the airport and the selection wasn't great, but overall another great experience with National. I will say that I somehow ended up with a really old Impala, which drove fine. There is construction around the airport on the freeway so pay attention when traveling in the area. read more

I rented a car recently from the Pittsburgh airport. When I got my AMEX bill I also found that I had been charged $336.00 for someone else's rental. I have spoken to National Car rental customer service several times. They confirmed that the charge was an error. But they claim they cannot credit my account. Only the local office can credit my account. But the National Car rental office in Pittsburgh refuses to credit. If am an Emerald Club member. Imagine how they would treat regular customers. I'm late in writing this review and must apologize. This wonderful service was way back in October of 2013. It was my fault that I got my arrival time wrong with another company and it was my bad luck that their agent closed their counter 15 minutes early. They would not open up again for another 5 hours. I was tired, under a lot of stress, visiting a sick loved one. I tried the parent company of the rental company but they offered me the same vehicle for more than double the rate. After trying 2 other companies, someone told me to try National. I couldn't believe it. They said "no problem". They took care of me. They matched the incredibly low rate I had with the other company. Put me into a beautiful new Pathfinder. They were a bright spot in a very difficult trip. I only wish they have the same low rates on a regular basis as the other company. I travel back east more often now and need a car rental each time. I am so grateful to them but with 2 college kids, I have to shop around. read more

I just rented a vehicle as an Emerald Club member. I needed a vehicle that would accomodate a wheelchair. I told this to the nice woman at the booth and she promptly found me a SUV that worked great for my needs. The only question I have to research yet is after returning home and receiving my ereceipt, the final amount is slightly higher than the amount quoted when I first rented the car. read more

I was forced into an SUV when I wanted a small car I reserved. When I returned I was told one price, and was charged over $200 extra when the bill was finally sent via email. Always a friendly greeting at this National location and there might not be a more convenient location to pick up and drop off vehicles at any airport along the East Coast. The problem with this rental was vehicle selection. As an Emerald Club member I am always looking for an interesting mdi size but there were none to be had. My choices were a Yukon or a Kia Soul. Last cars on the lot at 6:00am on a Friday. This is the one problem with this location---car choice is awful. read more
