Alex was superb!!! He successfully overcame all of the challenges presented by the job. For example, we had deadbolt locks to be installed that were too large for the existing holes. Had 2 very good experiences with two different Locksmiths from National over the past year. First involved repair of two 20 year old locks about a year ago: front door and rear patio French door locking system. Another [highly rated] company had sent a locksmith who showed up, took 1/2 hour to check and measure, left and never got back to me. When I called, they said French door system couldn't be fixed or replaced - I'd need new doors and locks. National fixed both front and rear doors in an hour or so. Emailed National about getting two auto replacement keys. They were super easy to work with, had a price cheaper than the dealer, and used OEM blanks. I contacted them about rekeying my front door when I purchased a home. I was told it was $19 to come by and they'd give me an estimate then. They came early, which would normally be nice, but I was not home and could not contact my wife to let her know what to expect. The locksmith showed up, told my wife he could rekey the lock but with that brand it would not take (he may have used a different word) and wanted to sell her two new locks for a couple of hundred dollars. AND THE NEW LOCKS WERE THE SAME BRAND as the one he said he couldn't rekey. She contacted me, I said no, she told him no. When I got home I said "at least it only cost $19" and she said "when the guy left, he said 'I need $25'" which she gave him in cash. I bought locks at Home Depot and installed them myself. It took a half-hour and cost less than one lock he wanted to sell us. read more

I needed to rekey my lock and adjust the lock. They asked for pictures. Then they told me I would have to replace the lock and it would cost over $800. Contacted another company. They replaced the cylinder, did a hinge slim, and provided 8 keys. Cost $223, including tax. read more

I called to get our home locks re-keyed the same day and was given a two hour appointment window by a friendly customer service tech. The tech called and let me know he could come early which was great. He arrived and finished the job in record time. He was polite, friendly, clean and did a great job. He checked that all the keys worked. When I mentioned that I would need to get extra keys made he said he could make them! I was thrilled. I was able to get extra keys made right at my home without a trip to an extra store and they all worked the first time. I paid the exact price that I was quoted on the phone which was much less than I expected it to be for same day service. The price for the extra keys was very reasonable too. I highly recommend National Lock & Key and Andre, their locksmith. I had previously scheduled the company to change the locks on my family's new home after closing. Within hours of taking ownership of the house, I locked myself out of the property on the second-story deck (a great way to learn that door's lock was broken). I contacted National Lock & Key to inform them of the situation, and the staff was understanding and communicated the situation to the locksmith. When Andre arrived, he was extremely gracious and professional and quickly entered the home, freeing me from my second-story deck. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY...Today I was locked out of my office, and all my personal belongings phone, purse ect was locked in my office. I called this company where it says starting at 35.00 to open lock, I gave my address and explained what the situation was. They told me that a technician would be calling me and would be on his way, I got a all from a man saying he would be at my office in 15 minutes. When I called originally I asked about the cost and they said just as the ad said 35.00, I also said I would need to pay with a check which they said not a problem, however when the technician arrived ( coming into my medical office smelling like an ashtray) he tells me that it will be $187.00 plus trip fee. Very far from $35.00, and they do not accept checks. Also he is not from the company that I called. This company contracts out the work to other places and sends them on calls, it is up to the company that comes out to charge whatever fees they choose. I was caught in the middle of this place and the tech, well I was not able to get my door open, due to I did not have 187.00 and not able to write a check. This place is a scam, better to call a local place and deal with them directly to get exact quotes.... read more

The appointment was also set up through email with detailed information of what to expect when the locksmith came to visit. The locksmith contacted me prior to arriving with an estimate of when he would arrive, which fell well within the time frame of the appointment. He arrived on time and initially spent 15 min answering my questions because I was unsure of what work I wanted completed. When I had decided on the work to be done, he walked me through the pricing and gave me an accurate time estimate before he got started. He completed the work on 3 doors within 1-1.5h.
