I had a pipe leaking in my attic, which lead to a drip in the bathroom ceiling. Plumber came out, identified and replaced the pipe and punched a hole in the ceiling so water would drain faster. The next morning my bathroom ceiling was being held up only by the curtain rod in the shower. The plumber recommended NRT and they came out the same day to deal with the ceiling collapse. They completed the job in a very timely manner and the bathroom looks brand new. The crews they brought in were polite, very hard-working and efficient. Major kudos to the project manager, Will, who helped me get insurance reimbursement and is still helping me with a portion done by the asbestos abatement company. Watch out for this company, greedy fire chasing, predatory bad business practices. I had the misfortune of having a house fire a couple of weeks ago. in the middle of watching the fire department out of the fire, a representative from National Response Team (NRT) shows up asking to do work to board up property after the fire. I agree after confirmation insurance will be billed. The following day I receive messages and phone calls to set appointments up for reconstruction of house? All this company wants is you to sign your money away, I forcefully refused the push for extra work. I get a few messages over the next couple days saying NRT is coming to work on boarding up the place. Zero communications with me about the work I signed for. Two weeks later I get a one line bill for $5000 to install a couple of sheets of plywood and a couple of tarps on the roof (single story house). I asked for details of the invoice as it was billed to me directly and not my Insurance. Get this ~$500 for an emergency service call that I did not make (their person showed up uninvited, clearly stalking fire victims like myself). Additionally, they wanted ~$2400 for the tarp installation of 1850 square feet, my house is 1800 square feet and only small portions were covered. I called NRT out on these charges and Will Stubblefields responded was the insurance is paying right. So why had NRT sent me a $5000 invoice twice now??? Horrible office communications, non-existent custmer relations and generally shady business practices trying to take advantage of people during a crisis!!!! Be warned, stay far away. read more

My initial impression was great. They came out promptly, and were thorough on describing the work that would be needed (to dry out and then repair the sheet rock). Royce was kind, direct, and very informative. However, the company is misleading and intentionally miscommunicates information. I was Quoted ~$2,500 for a small area with no mold and no heavy water damage. Verbally was told this would include protection of my floors, drying of the area, repair of the wall/ceiling, and clean up. I was also charged for 1 hour of work by 2 men for fan removal (it took one man 15mins), and clean up (for which my home is still covered in plastic and plaster). When I called to find out when the sheet rock repair would take place, I was informed that they need to send another tech to come give additional estimates, then could pay their team the total of the additional estimate, to complete the repair. When I told them that I was told this was all part of the whole process already assessed, they offered to give me the name of a handyman who could do the work out of pocket (seems shady). Or, would have someone come and give an additional price quote. Overall, I would NOT recommend working with this company. You will get price gouged, mislead, left trying to find a way to complete a half done project, and over paying thousands of dollars. read more

We had the misfortune of working with NRT after they were recommended to us by Divine Plumbing to handle the restoration of water damage caused by Divine poorly soldering a pipe at our house. At first I was optimistic because the initial response was quick and they swiftly ripped out the damaged walls and flooring. But then it became apparent that the project management team assigned to our job was either incompetent or just deliberately ignoring the project. Some of the highlights of our experience with NRT: - They mis-measured the space and didn't plan out the restoration work correctly, contributing to a 3 month delay in getting a simple cost estimate together. - They gave vague, misleading answers to our questions about the schedule. And when they did give us deadlines of when we could expect some sort of update or progress, the day would come and go without us hearing anything from NRT. - Thus no progress was ever made without us first having to call, text and email them looking for updates. - There were multiple times when their project manager failed to let us know when their work crew would or wouldn't be showing up at our house. - After a delay in receiving the flooring because it was backordered from the manufacturer, the project still couldn't be 100% completed because the project manager messed up again and didn't order the correct amount of moldings. - In the end it too over a year for the work to be completed. In short, NRT made a bad situation much worse. I DO NOT recommend working with them. read more

We recently had a fire in our garage with lots of smoke throughout the house.. NRP teams came out immediately, assessed what needed to be done and got to work. Great crews that were so careful cleaning everything, even my art work. Project Manager , Will Stubblefirld was on top of everything. My office warehouse had a sprinkler go off and it caused a flood to our next door neighbors. My team and I called NRT for their help and we were matched up with Javier, the project manager at NRT. This event took place on a Monday evening right before 5 PM as Javier was suppose to be getting off work. Instead, with my emergency, he stayed back for a full 3-4 hours helping clean up the immediate aftermath. This project took a whole 2 weeks for everything to be cleared but Javier made it as easy as possible. He was very knowledgeable with the entire process and he wasn't afraid to get his hands dirty if needed. Javier made this entire experience a whole lot better as he was very communicative and thorough with his explanations. He was also very accessible via phone calls or texts whenever I had any questions. Prior to my emergency, I had no idea of what this process would entail, but Javier was there to help answer any questions I had via phone calls and texts. While I hope I don't have to use NRT in the near future again, if I do, I hope to have Javier again as my project manager as he exceeded all of my expectations of what NRT is capable of. read more

They were a much bigger nuisance than the water leak. They took a few days to get to start the work. Will Stubblefield was the project manager and sounded very professional when he came for measurements. But after that, he was missing or useless. The workers did what they pleased without rhyme or reason. They left a third of the portion wet and wouldn't come back. I had to call them on a weekend and after a lot of arguments they sent a person but he wasn't sent to remedy the water damage but to change the containment area. The Project manager recused himself for every little difference of opinion. I finally had to fire them. They charged a fee which was at least five times the work they had done. Very disturbing experience. read more

These people are a joke. I was connected to them through my insurance company, who assured me they would respond quickly and come out to perform the inspection and estimate within 24 to 48 hours. After two weeks we still had nothing and even my insurance company could not get them to cooperate. It was for a mold issue at a rental that wasn't even bad. read more

I had a sizable water leak from the upstairs of our home into our downstairs dining room. After contacting the plumber, it was clear that I needed a mitigation team to come in, inspect the situation and determine what was necessary to ensure the integrity of our home. I reached out to NRT and they came out the same day. Nestor explained what needed to happen. He was incredibly professional and responsive throughout the entire project. The team came in, removed all the furniture, secured the area by sealing it off from the rest of the house. They dried out everything and put in extra effort to ensure that we wouldn't have a mold problem. They then put everything back exactly as it was found. When we experienced our water heater leaking water across the vanity into the bathroom floor to adjacent closet. We panicked...called Benjamin Franklin plumbing to remove the old, bad water heater. He referred us to "NRT" amazingly with quick response, William the crew leader member came out to access the situation. He explained the process throughly. The following day Dehumidifiers, fans were placed to dry floor, also molded drywall was removed. The company is understanding in mitigation. Francisco is a hard worker with a great kind attitude, along with his coworker. Incredibly they're helpful in identifying what could be salvaged, reused instead of tearing down unnecessarily which reduced the price. The owners Josh and Sal will get back to you fast by phone or text when you have a concern during the process. Our freezer leaked causing mold to grow in the walls and underneath it. We worked with NRT to remediate the mold and prepare to replace the sheet rock, plywood and stairs. Though the job was small, Javier and his team were top notch. They were very communicative about the extent of the damage, took photos as they uncovered more and were extremely careful to prevent air contamination in the house. Javier, Guillermo and Christian did the work and we were pleased with the outcome. Would recommend NRT to anyone unlucky enough to need to have mold safely and effectively removed. read more

They are way too expensive, way too expensive. I got some work done in Marinwood in July and just for drying up the kitchen floor due to water leak and to remove mold they charged me almost 6k !!! Their initial estimate was ~3500 and they kept on increasing it later. Their invoices are detailed but ghost prices ! Way too high than you can imagine. For around 2/3 days of labor work and 5 days of just machine doing their drying, they ripped us off with ~6k bill ! Don't hire them, look for much more reasonable prices elsewhere. Reply for Josh the owner who commented: - Best Buy Adjuster thinks your price is ridiculous. - Price was 5,330.20 + 475 for air quality testing ( even if external we were not asked for it ). - Work ran from July 11 - July 17. Testing was done on July 18. Your workers only worked for 3 days. Rest was just machine drying up walls. So talk to your employees its 7 days not 11 days. - Own your work and price. Be mature in taking feedback, and not get give personal comments to reviewers. - We made mistake getting you in for the price as we were in hurry to get our kitchen fixed. For anyone having more time, yes you should search for much more reasonable prices, thats precisely what my review is. read more

I do not recommend working with NRT. My experience with NRT was a bad one. My final amount was 40% higher than initially estimated (which I understand it happens) but that frustration came from lack of communication. I had no idea that my final bill would be higher until I received the final bill. I expected the project manager to contact me to explain prior to doing the extra work, but that did not happen. Secondly, they chipped paint all over the room due to using the wrong tape. They reimbursed me $234, which is way lower than what I will spend on getting the room re-painted. read more

OK, so here's the thing. NRT was amazing. My previous review stands for THEM. Five stars, all the way. But they had a regular subcontractor (and former project manager for them) that they recommended to lay new underpadding and restretch my carpet. This guy gets 1 star, and I'd give him zero if I could. He's just not up to the NRT standards I expect. - he arrived 38 minutes after the agreed upon window, with no call to say he'd be late. - he left after a half hour because he didn't have the required tools. - he took at least three calls from clients during his time here, and these were long discussions, not "I'm with a client and will call you back at such-and-such a time" quick calls. - he left a carpet nail in the walkway, where my elderly mother stepped on it. She asked him to be careful as we both walk around barefoot all day and he literally didn't care. His response to this was, and I quote, "oh." - when he was about to leave, he started to take up all the protective things that had been laid down, which we wanted maintained because there's still more work to be done. - and then he left the carpet in a ridiculous state. Sure, it's stretched back to the walls, but he didn't do ANYTHING about picking up the bits and pieces and flotsam and jetsam. It escaped the room he'd been working in and dirtied half my living room. I even found a second carpet nail, AFTER the man had been warned that two women walked barefoot every day. - finally, I was told that he would clean the carpet before he left, and.... this was not cleaned. At all. Like AT ALL. I don't know what I expected, given the debris all over everything, but there are absolutely stains that were not there before. The pictures attached to this show the stains - these were all taken AFTER the thorough vacuuming I had to do. I am at this point regretting having the carpet maintained and wishing I had gone with all new flooring for the room instead. Final thoughts: NRT, great. Hire them for all your moisture-removal and related needs. They are pricey but worth it. But get someone else to do the flooring work. read more

When we initially met Josh Wikoff - he was so thoughtful and supportive. That is not how that "relationship"ended up. The cleaners he works with destoryed countless items in their machines - we threw out half our clothes, linens and textiles. The cleaning done in our house was superficial and half assed -- many walls were not touched and I ended up going over them after they left. But what bothers me most was the theft of many items. It took months to get several items returned - that I had fortunately taken photos of after our fire. But many highly treasured items were not given back to me. Items like an antique silver scottish pin- an heirloom of great value. Sadly I did not have a photo of that - it was on a vest and worn on special occassions. To put it simply, it was a painful process with this company and it's cohorts constantly denying they had the items (although the film everything they receive) I had to go thorugh many photos to show them they had the items. They were mean spirited and Josh was the worse of them - he didn't give a damn about this theft. We are a year later - still uncovering items that have holes in them from the intense washing or are just so bleached out they are useless. Every textile in our home was removed - some like a hand made felted piece from England and several similar items (I had photos of) that never came back. I imagine they were destoryed in their "cleanign process" - as I said I walked through our home and took photos of everything I could (not my clothes) but what was visible. The final straw was the way Josh treated me on a call. He was cruel, heartless and basically told me to get lost. read more

I have had a lot of issues in my house due to water leaks. The first time I had this problem it was on a weekend and it took days for the insurance company to send out a mitigation service. That mitigation company assessed the damage but didn't get any drying machines in there for another day or two. By that time there was mold and I had to fight to get the damage covered. I learned the hard way that it is imperative to get mitigation going as soon as the damage is discovered so it doesn't get worse. Now, at the first sign of water damage I get National Response to come and I pay $1,000 to them ( the amount of my deductible) and then they help me deal with the insurance later to get everything reimbursed. I have now used National Response Team three times (unfortunately) ! National Response Team always responds immediately and are out to my house within hours, drying out the damage with their machines. Every person that has helped me, including the owner Josh and the project managers, Willy and Jose´ have been super nice and polite. We also love Miguel Leon who is really sweet. The company works really well with the insurance company and they get the job done as painlessly as possible. I trust National Response Team completely and would recommend them anytime. read more

We had a leak in our washing machine during a quick outing to the store one night while we were gone. First, let me just say how impressed my husband and I have been with National Response Team. We needed a restoration company after a pipe burst and water leaked into our downstairs bedroom at 2:00 in the morning. Most of the companies we called could not come out for 3-4 days and their response to our initial call was almost immediate. Javier came out and assessed the damage to our home and provided us with a detailed estimate. Their technician, Will, came out and did everything that was needed to dry out the water. . Before he left, he asked if we had any questions and told me he would be back the following day to check the progress of drying of the wood/subfloor at 8:30 the following morning. He was right on time. He told me what time he would be here the morning and again he was on time. As a person who is always busy, I appreciated his thoughtfulness and honesty. Two major issues that made the situation harder than it needed to be: We had to bring NRT back twice so they could adequately gain access to the pipe that was leaking. The workers should have known that the entire cieling needed to be exposed so the plumber could identify issues with the pipe (not just part of the wall). The plumber was the one who referred us to them and they should have asked them what he needed but clearly did not resulting in two visits instead of one. Second, they broke a shower tile during their first visit, then denied they did it claiming it was already there in the 2nd visit. Yes because you broke it during the first visit! They haven't responded to 3 emails and left VM over the course of two weeks. read more

The hot water exit hose on my water heater failed while I was on vacation, My entire home was filled with 2" of hot water for five days. National response team was recommended and boy am I happy. In a moment of stupidity I almost set my kitchen on fire, filling my home with the most noxious plastic black smoke. After the fire dept came, I knew that toxic smell would not go away on it's own and was very unhealthy. We ended up going with another company primarily because they were associated with our home insurance, but Josh was incredibly honest and professional throughout the process. We live in Contra Costa County and on 1/26/23, we had a fire in the garage. Worst thing about that was the smoke went through the whole house. My 81 yo mother and husband with asthma could not comfortably stay in the 3200 sq ft 2 story home. Our insurance AAA, contracted directly through Lionsgate and they contracted NRT. There was a little confusion on the 1st day of the 2 week job to remediate the smoke. Gregory, our job site manager did not show up. However, Myra was there on time ready to pack up for a complete pack out. I understood that we were staying in the home and they were working around all the household belongings. Well Myra graciously left until we straightened out the process. The very next morning Salvador came to our home and explained the process, no pack out. Yay we could stay in our home. Myra quickly went to work cleaning the entire house with her staff. MYRA, I just cannot say enough about this lady's work ethic, professionalism, efficiency, attention to details, care with our beloved items and her communication. They are blessed to have this lady work for NRT. I was blessed to have her in our home. The smoke is gone, and it was not cheap, as other reviewers mentioned. We had a major leak at our Rental property in Fremont, Ca. Our tenants notified us at 6am.
