We had the unfortunate incident of a building that caught on fire next door and caused damage to our home. All those toxic fumes were imbedded in all of our walls and all of our things! We had water intrusion after the October bomb cyclone. We noticed water trickling through an electrical outlet. Working with our insurance, we first had another company come out. But we quickly realized the problem wasn't being handled properly. I should have gone with my initial decision and called Fire and Water Damage Recovery (FWDR). I called them and spoke with Frank about the situation. He took the time to explain to me what is involved with the remediation process, e.g., testing for lead, asbestos and mold before tearing into walls, if that's needed. Orlando Mejia was the project manager. Everyone involved in this damage recovery was professional, thorough and responsive. The service was easily managed and FWDR connected us with the testing services and asbestos service, which the project required. We got timely appointments and the work was done with minimal disruption. The estimates were reasonable and everyone complied with masking indoors. I want to add that when the remediation was completed, the plastic tenting remained for the actual contractor repair - drywall, painting, reinstalling baseboards and door trim. You never want to have to talk with service providers due to home damage. But when you work with a group like FWDR and the other vendors who help you get your home back in order, it sure is a good experience. We own a property in San Mateo and the office manager walked in Monday to a 1/2 inch of water - flooding the whole floor! A pipe in the bathroom had broken and water ran all weekend. I'm writing this review for my parents and because it's well deserved. My mother left started cooking on a Sunday morning and happen to forget about it and the kitchen caught on fire. I expected the worse pulling up to my parents house. My parents a fairly old and I imagined the worse. By the grace of God nothing happen to them.
