I visited Nationwide Vision Center yesterday and had such a FANTASTIC experience. The Optometry specialist, Dr. April Williams-Rutt is so caring and exacting during her eye examination. She always wants the best and clearest vision prescription for her clients! The preliminary eye testing was performed by Stacy and she was thorough and so professional! And..at the end of the appointment, I got to pick out my new eyeglass frames with the nicest young lady. Her name was Stephanie. She also helped me not only with the style and color of my new frames but also how the frames fit my face. So friendly and, of course, very professional. The desk staff were great, as well. They had all the necessary paperwork organized and ready for my scheduled appointment. Thanks to Mayra and Mikayla for your attention to all the details. This place is absolutely horrible! They will not give you contacts without having a final check but yet took my money for my 6 month supply. However he won't give me my money back and won't give me a copy of my Rx since it is not finalized. But yet they have my hands tied! DONT EVER US THIS CROOKED SPOT!!!!! I received a call back to schedule an appointment at Nationwide Vision in Buckeye two days after leaving a message; there were five staff members when I arrived who were unorganized and obviously incompetent in their positions; I had my ID cards (and another patient's DL) left on a desk unattended in public; the eye exam was minimal and the doctor noted "patient education" on the results that I did not receive; there were no prices on the eyeglasses on display; and I left with the prescription, never to return again. I don't normally write yelp reviews but had to on this business. This is a medical facility that in no way meets standards of care or basic customer service. read more

Extremely poor customer service. We have been going here for over 5 years and we always schedule our annual exams for the next year once we finish the appointment. After 10 months of having appointments scheduled for 3 of us in my family, I receive a voicemail from a Mallory telling me that the appointments were cancelled because we didn't confirm them. I have screenshots of my text responses that I did confirm them, and got automated replies back saying they were confirmed. Didn't matter, my wife called and spoke with Mallory who insisted that we missed phone calls to confirm and because of that they were cancelled. Amazing how you get billed for no shows and wasting their time, but there is zero repercussions when the office wastes customer's time. Will never return or recommend this location again. read more

Extremely poor customer service, appointment was scheduled at 10:00 AM for my child (keep in mind I took off work and took him out of school for appointment) we had to ask for help to check in, had to ask for help to look at glasses before exam because we had already been waiting for 50 minutes and I didn't want to pick out his frames after exam after waiting that long, then when I asked how much longer, I was told "I don't know, depends when they call you back" like seriously I could have told you that. No one appeared to be interested in working. We normally see phoenix children's doctors, and I made this appointment because we needed a new prescription and glasses asap, but I'll never go here again for an eye exam!! If I could rate this place 0 I would. The blonde woman at the front desk was so rude. I tried explaining to her that my copay was different all they had to do was call the number on back of my insurance card to get the pre authorization number. She kept cutting me off and wouldn't listen to anything I said. I work front office for a medical clinic and it is not hard to make a quick phone call. She kept saying that's not my job and was giving me attitude. I kept my cool left my paperwork and walked out the door. I don't think I've ever been treated like that ESPECIALLY at a nationwide. I have been getting glasses here for years - save yourself and go to the goodyear location instead I learned my lesson trying to save myself some time with somewhere closer. read more

First and last time I'll go there. The two women who sit at the front desk are not welcoming when you first come in. They don't greet you unless you speak up first. When I picked out frames, I talked to girl 1 and she said girl 2 would help once she was off the phone. I don't believe girl 1 told girl 2 that she volunteered her to help me. Girl 2 was off the phone and I waited a couple minutes just to see if she was ready for me. She never called me up so I went up and she told me she was busy with paperwork and she'd be with me in a few. I waited about 10 minutes until girl 2 called me back up. Honestly, they just seem like you're a burden to them and can't be bothered to help you. This is the closest place to me now that I live in Buckeye but I'll have no problems driving elsewhere moving forward. When I've gone to other establishments, they are helpful, go over the insurance policy in detail (this place only told me what the cost of frames would be. I was told they recommend a certain lens but didn't tell me cost. I told her I'd take whatever my insurance covered. I looked my policy up myself to find my benefits), measure your face (which this place did not), told me of any promotions they were having (this place didn't but I'm pretty sure I saw signs). I will say though, I saw an employee there who I believe helped in the back as well as front and she seemed helpful towards her customers. She was super friendly to those she was helping, and I overheard her explaining things without hesitation. You need staff with that attitude, not those of the women who sit at the front desk. read more

The ethics of this company are questionable at best. My roommate gave them her special frames to put lenses in and paid $600. The lab broke the frames that were irreplaceable. The company offered NO compensation for the broken frames. At minimum, they should have offered a refund AND a replacement pair of frames. All they offered was a refund. That is 100% unacceptable and we will be escalating the issue to corporate as well as taking all our business elsewhere. read more

Horrible service! Long wait! Bad products. They botched my glasses and wouldn't repair them. Please don't waste your time here. They don't care. I saw the optometrist and ordered a new set of progressive lenses. They measured my progressive lenses to start 1/8 of an inch from the top. I couldn't use them for anything but EXTREME close up needs. They were supposed to be for driving and computer use but all they gave me was blurred vision and a headache. When I went back to have them fixed, the receptionist didn't even make eye contact, acknowledge or apologize. She just stated that I would have to make another appointment with the optometrist and then purchase new lenses. I ended up going to target with my frames and had them fix the problem by replacing the lenses read more

12/12/2012 The office staff were rude when they didn't get my glasses right and I went back in today they told me I would have to come back another day. I explained I live a long ways off and they got me in without an appt when I had my eye exam. My glasses aren't okay. I still don't know what the resolution will be. I couldn't stand there and deal with THE "OFFICE MANAGER", an immature, non customer service trained, unprofessional young 20ish girl without wantinng to pull her Shirley Temple curls, lol, so I left. 12/13/2012, 1pm... I am still waiting for the general manager to return my call. The eye doctor didn't return my phone message yesterday and supposedly she is not working today. I tried to get ahold of the district manager at the corporate office yesterday and so far he has not returned my call. I am so disappointed, don't have my new glasses, they are at the Nationwide Vision in Buckeye. :-( MY RECOMMENDATION IS GO TO THE SUPERCENTER RIGHT NEXT DOOR, DON'T GO TO THAT OFFICE OF NATIONWIDE VISION CENTERS. I guess I will have to make an appointment and go back in. Hopefully the eye doctor will fix the prescription and they will get me glasses that I can see to drive with. I called them to request my contacts prescription be sent to a different center. I waited 30 minutes and they still hadn't received the prescription. I called Nationwide again telling them I've waited 30 minutes and still nothing. After an hour waiting for them to send in the new rx so I could put an order of contacts in, I gave up. I had already given the girl the fax number. It legit takes less than 1 minute to do something that simple and yet after an hour, the center I'm waiting at still didn't receive anything. How incompetent and unprofessional. I will not be returning for any further services. At this rate, it might be quicker to just go back and drive the 30 minutes to Nationwide and pick up a physical rx copy than to rely on the people working there. Edit: After over an hour they finally received an rx......it was for glasses. Great store, great staff. Went in to inquire about an appt for glasses and exam. I have not been to an eye doctor in about 6 years. They scheduled me with a friendly attitude. Called me the day before to confirm my appt. Upon arriving, I was once again greeted by the friendly staff and went in for exam after a shorter than expected wait. Their attitude there sucks no one ever greets you they just sit behind their desk staring I told them to not use The number on file that I did not want my information going to them and I gave them my number but still they sent my information to the person I told him I did not want my information going to and then I was told that I would receive my glasses Monday or Tuesday at the latest that they just shipped out Saturday so I called Wednesday and they told me give them three more business days that they just shipped out today (on Wednesday) last time I went I got an I exam and it wasn't by a guy that normally works there I guess he was just substituting in for the real eye exam person when he did my exam it was completely wrong when I got my glasses I couldn't even walk normally because of how different than what I needed and they were making me sick read more

The ONLY reason they are getting 2 stars instead of 1 is because the ladies changed their attitudes by the end of the appointment and were very nice. When I came in the lady at the front desk was very short with other customers. When she got to me she was also very short with me. I filled out my paperwork and went to bring it to the counter. When I got there the girl just walked away so I placed my paperwork on the counter. Another woman who worked there walked behind the desk, looked at me and was like "did you really just leave this here?? I was only gone for a minute." I said yes and then she rolled her eyes and barked at me asking if anyone had taken my ID and insurance to scan it. I said no so I brought it up to her. As she was reviewing my paperwork she asked if my weight had changed, I told her yes and then apologized for missing it on the paperwork. She goes "theres a reason we highlight it!" So I apologized again. I genuinely didn't see it. She took me in the back to do my exam. Her mood changed. She was much nicer but then complained quite a lot about other customers who have come in that have upset her. I understood why she was upset. But it's not professional to complain about other customers to a customer during their appointment. The doctor I met with was very nice and the lady who checked me out after was very nice to me. This is a very unprofessional business they do not have state-of-the-art equipment they are antiquated in there service their customer service was very rude. The employees were in a very bad mood the technician was unprofessional and lacking of knowledge. The doctor was very angry and could care less about patients. The front desk person would not give me a price on glasses that the insurance would cover all other eyeglass companies can give you a maximum price that the insurance will cover. Can you believe they still use eye drops for dilation when I asked about the current equipment to do that test they said they could not afford it. They try to be very helpful. Their attitudes seem pleasant, but I can't say that it was overall a great experience. One of my son's order was incorrect to begin with. They put the order in under one son then just "charged the difference" for the correct son. A week or so later I get a call that my son's glasses are in, but just 1. I call to find out what the status is for my other son and was told it doesn't look like it was even shipped yet (this was 2 weeks after we went in). She said she'd call the lab to see what happened and then would call me back. A week goes by and no one has called me back. I call again and ask and was told that they have an order for one son but not the other (yeah, that's what I said when I greeted her) and that she can only see it's processed and nothing else for the other son. She would need to call her manager who wasn't in that day to get an answer and would call me back. That was yesterday and I still haven't heard back! By next week it will be a MONTH that I went in and still haven't got my glasses that I've already paid for. Not to mention, the prices are a little higher. I went to America's Best last year and paid what seems like half of what I was charged here. Due to us moving this way, I chose convenience but I think I'll take my business back there. read more
