    Rice bowl

Namu Kitchen is located in West Covina in the Haven City Plaza. Coming here around lunchtime on a Wednesday, it was not crowded at all. They also have free WiFi for guest and outlets on the side to charge devices. The ambiance was very calming and the restaurant was nicely decorated. I decided to get a rice bowl and it came with a bunch of sides as well. It was a pretty big portion and I couldn't finish it all. The rice was really delicious and the pork was tender and juicy. I really enjoyed the different flavors presented in the bowl. 10/10

I love the way this brunch spot is decorated. It feels like a completely different vibe as soon as you walk in. The whole place has a great ambience. Everything on the menu looked interesting, but the jang jorim burrito stood out to me the most and it didn't disappoint. The beef was cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. It's a breakfast style burrito, which makes it perfect for brunch. Service was attentive and on point. There wasn't much of a wait when I went on a weekday, but I'd expect it to be busier on weekends. Definitely planning to come back and try more of the menu.

To find a place like this in West Covina is awesome! They specialize in Korean fusion breakfast. I love the vibe of the place. It's modern and very cute, clean inside. I was impressed with the waitress who was managing 6 tables by herself as I was waiting for my friend to arrive. She was very attentive, nice, and smiley even though I can tell her cortisol levels were rising since she was making drinks in the front while managing orders too. The restroom was CLEAN and pleasant. I was skeptical at first because I generally find fusion food to be a hit or miss. Also, I'm picky with my coffee so I tend to steer away from Korean style coffees because they generally taste like acidic Americanos to me (even their cold brews). I opted for the Espresso Tonics (1 blood orange and 1 yuzu). Both were refreshing and softened/blended with the espresso and their citrus fruit flavors without being overwhelmingly cloy. I ordered Jang Jorim rice bowl and it was pretty tasty. It was a little too salty for me, but the rice, roasted brussel sprouts, cucumber salad, and kimchi countered the saltiness. Overall, I would come back again if I'm in the hood, because the food, ambiance, and service are all solid.

Food: Namu Breakfast Plate ($19) - sauteed mushroom, crispy kale scrambled egg, parmesan cheese Korean sausage, toasted sourdough, salad, homemade jam and fruits - this was the perfect healthy breakfast with sweet & savory flavors; never had kale taste this good before!!! Drinks: Double Matcha Latte ($7.25) - matcha latte + matcha cloud on top was perfect!!! Service: great, timely service Design: interiors is contemporary with warm wood flooring, wood table tops, wicker with black vinyl chairs, grey walls with green plant strips and other landscape potted plants Overall: if you want great Korean or American brunch food with great espresso or matcha/tea type drinks, then this is a MUST-TRY in the West Covina area!!!

Such a cute brunch spot in the same plaza as Haven City Market. I was able to make a reservation for a larger group and communicate updates through Yelp messages, they're pretty responsive there, especially if you can't get through by phone. I ordered the Jang Jorim (braised beef) burrito- it was super tasty. The portion was huge and I could only finish about a third of it Dirty Hojicha Latte- it didn't really taste like hojicha and leaned a bit sour. But I liked that all their drinks aren't overly sweet. Overall a great spot to catch up with friends!

I really enjoyed the bulgogi plate this time and my friend enjoyed the bulgogi sandwich. Drinks were delicious and service was great as usual! Love the seating here too. Very comfortable and spacious.

Namu Kitchen was busy when we visited and we waited about half an hour. You write your name and party size on a paper to get on the waitlist. Casual vibe with delicious, fresh food. I got the braised beef burrito -- flavorful and a good option to share if neither person is too hungry. Friends got Avo toast, Gyoza, and jang-jorim over rice. Had some of each, and they were delicious as well.

I've had Namu Kitchen bookmarked for a while and finally made it in on a recent Monday for brunch. We were seated right away, and I was glad they gave us a larger table because everything on the menu looked tempting. The two of us shared the avocado toast, tofu and eggplant burrito, Korean pork soup Dwaeji Gomtang, and the braised beef brisket Jang Jorim over rice. My favorites were definitely the avocado toast and the Korean pork soup. The soup was incredibly comforting and flavorful, and it honestly felt like they used two whole avocados on the toast, it was also very aesthetic and perfect for photos. I don't eat spicy food, so I was a bit bummed that the tofu and eggplant burrito came with a spicy mayo sauce, but my husband had no trouble enjoying it. To be honest, I was already pretty full by the time the braised beef rice arrived, but it made excellent leftovers for another meal later. I also ordered the hojicha latte with cloud foam, not realizing it only came iced. The waitress was incredibly kind and offered to remake it hot, which I really appreciated. Overall, this is a super cute Korean fusion brunch spot, and I'd highly recommend checking it out.

Tried this brunch spot since I was in the area of WestCo! It was decently priced for the portion that I got. I got the breakfast plate and it came with a variety of things. It was pretty good. My bf got the Jang-jorim burrito and it was really wet.... messy to eat. Our friend got the Beef bulgogi over rice and the portion was small..... I think consistent and reasonable portioning would help this restaurant. Service was good though

Ricotta Toast & Rosemary Cardamom Latte

This lovely and quiet cafe is an incredible place for breakfast or brunch. They have a top tier espresso machine and make wonderful coffee drinks. I especially recommend the Rosemary Cardamom Latte... not too overpowering in any capacity but a great blend of the flavors. Delicious. The Jam & Ricotta Toast was also fantastic with light brioche and delicious ricotta spread and jam. The flavors and textures all worked together perfectly. Finally the pleasant light KPop music really set the ambiance. I will be back!

I stopped in for breakfast and since it was my first time here i asked the host what should i try. He recommended the Namu Breakfast plate.Sauted mushroom, crispy kale scrambled egg, parmesan cheese Korean sausage, toasted sourdough, salad, homemade jam and fruits. The mushrooms and smokey Korean sausage were the stars of the show! Also, it was a really good sized portion ! This is a very nice cafe located outside of the Haven City Marketplace.

This beautiful restaurant was once a tofu soup place called Myung Dong. I love what they did with the space. It's both homey and gives boutique hotel vibes. I knew we were going to have a great time the moment we set foot in it. Their server was attentive without hovering. He made sure our water carafe was always full and that we were happy with our food. Speaking of food, their fried chicken must be the best Korean fried chicken in the SGV. Seriously. The chicken was juicy, ever so crispy (but didn't have too much breading), and even with the honey sauce drizzled on top, it didn't lose its structural integrity or get soggy. And the sauce wasn't cloyingly sweet. Just enough to provide a contrast to the chicken, and it had a hint of spice right at the end. The combination of that sauce with the chicken was perfect and lethal. We couldn't stop eating it. My son's French toast was phenomenal. It wasn't too sweet either and with sliced bananas and blueberries, made for the perfect winter breakfast. He was very happy with it. The hubby loved his breakfast plate. It had kurubota sausage, fruit, and I couldn't tell what else because he loved it too much to share any of it with me. We love this restaurant. Namu is going to be one of the staples we will end up going to over and over. Their food and service (and value!) gave us such a pleasurable dining experience.

Mother's Day Dining Experience To the Management Team,…read moreI am writing to share my recent experience at your establishment this past Mother's Day. As a long-time fan of your restaurant, this was one of my favorite places to dine; however, my experience during this visit was deeply disappointing due to a lack of communication and poor service standards. My primary concerns are as follows: Limited Menu Communication: Upon arriving, I was disappointed to find a restricted holiday menu that did not include the dishes I had specifically come for. While I understand the need for a limited menu on busy holidays, this should have been communicated to guests waiting outside. Waiting an hour to be seated only to realize the items I craved were unavailable was a significant letdown. Inattentive Service: Despite the restaurant not appearing to be at full capacity, the service was lacking. My father's meal arrived significantly later than the rest of the table's, and basic needs--such as coffee refills for my mother and water for the table--were never addressed. No one checked in to see if we were satisfied with our meal at any point. Gratuity Policy: Regarding the 18% gratuity for parties of six or more, I completely respect the policy in principle. However, when the service does not meet basic expectations, being told I must pay a specific dollar amount--in this case, $40--feels intrusive. I am someone who genuinely enjoys leaving generous tips in cash to reward good service; being forced to pay a set amount for a subpar experience felt less like a gratuity and more like an unjustified surcharge. I believe your establishment is capable of much better. I hope you take this feedback into account to ensure future holiday guests receive the transparency and quality of service that originally made me a loyal customer.

It's a large-ish space, and I guess kind of like a sit-down place (not "turo-turo/cafeteria style like some Filipino joints), with a ton of Filipino snacks on the counter. Plenty of seats that have seen better days. A portion of the restaurant is covered in plastic to house some construction equipment ? I asked for the pork sisig ala carte and decided to add an order of kalderetang kambing and 2c of rice. Big mistake buying more than one entree when you are taking it home and have no clue how their food tastes. I trusted Yelp too much. . Sisig had a 1:1 ratio of meat to bell peppers. I also couldn't help but feel lile the peppers were undercooked, even raw. Maybe that was their style, but I also disliked the mayo on top. Now the kalderetang kambing had a strange fishy (gamey) smell in the car. When I tried it at home, the meat looked so red and tasted way too sweet, not at all like the Kalderetas I'm used to back home. The meat was falling off the bone soft though. This is my problem with Filipino restaurants in the US - if they can't make dishes better tasting than what I make at home (i rarely cook but im a good eater), I cannot rate them high at all. I've eaten too much Filipino food in my life to know what tastes good. I feel bad because the folks who work here/(owners?) are pretty nice and they were working on Valentines. But the current rating they have is misleading. If you're going for the big entrees like I did, and are used to Gerry's Grill type sisig, prepare to be disappointed. Yelp, you did not come thru for me this time.
