I want to add my 5 star review to the other glowing reviews of Mixto. They just moved to this location and will hopefully get more outdoor seating this spring. In addition to having more seating, I feel like they need more visibility! The food here is really terrific. Great balance of flavors, creative dishes, and everything prepared perfectly. My family of 4 got 4 different dishes and passed them around for tasting and it was difficult to pick a favorite. I really hope they do well in this location and stay for a good long time! read more

I have many food sensitivities and they were gracious and accommodating. They didn't serve bland food like usually get. Shrimp tacos bursting with flavor. My husband said his pasta is a ten. The staff is fantastic. Attentive but not hovering. We will be back. read more

Gloomy and pouring buckets outside, but inside Mixto it was bright and cheery with pretty tile-topped tables and friendly staff. We came in during brunch, so the menu reflected both breakfast and lunch items. Some of us ordered a Greek omelet, a smash burger with sweet potato fries, and a grilled chicken sandwich. I ordered a Cobb salad with grilled salmon-- the greens were fresh, the bacon bits were extra crispy, and the salmon was cooked perfectly with a whole sliced egg. This was a generous, colorful, filling entree sized salad. My friend had a cup of tasty tortilla soup and also enjoyed the chicken tostadas topped with lots of fresh avocado and accompanied by a green side salad. This was a cozy family restaurant that takes pride in showcasing quality ingredients and providing tasty food with good value. They were friendly and accommodating. The Mixto has the locals raving, and I can see why. It's a beautiful space with great service and great food. I started my meal with a cup of beef and barley soup (their soup of the day). I only like beef and barley when it's done particularly well and this was a great one! I could do without the mushrooms but it was good enough for me to ignore them. We were given the brunch menu, which contains breakfast and lunch items, however, breakfast wasn't actually still being served. It was about 3:30 but they don't start prepping for dinner until around that time so be aware that if you want access to the full dinner menu you should arrive no earlier than 4pm. So from the lunch menu I decided to go with the mango habanero crispy chicken sandwich. I was asked if I wanted the sauce to be more mild or more spicy, which is always smart to ask/offer, but I like it hot so bring on the spice! It was a solid sandwich, well breaded and not dry at all. The sauce didn't burn much at first, but the heat built up as I ate. It was never too much for me but it did clear up my sinuses. The sandwich came with my choice of side so I opted for sweet potato fries. These were just ok, I'd probably try a different side next time. I asked about dessert and the coconut yogurt cake caught my attention. Think of a cheesecake but made with yogurt instead. This was a perfect finish! Smooth and creamy, light and tasty, all topped with some fresh strawberries. I think the menu rotates here seasonally, but I'd say it's a must try if they've got it available. Our server was friendly and patient, and even brought me the dinner menu and said she'd ask the cooks if they were ready to prepare anything I was interested in. The price point to quality ratio is a value in my perspective. I would have expected the bill to be about 20 dollars more than what I paid, so you can get a real quality meal without hurting your wallet. I'll definitely be back! read more

We saw this moving into the new location and decided to try it out last night. We had a couple of smash burgers and they were excellent. Even though there's no kids menu, my 7yo daughter had cheese quesadillas and she liked them. We live just down the street so we might try the breakfast menu sometime. read more

Family owned. The staff is friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and gracious. Decor is your standard strip mall simple, but the food is surprisingly outstanding and attractively served. Wife had the mango habanero chicken sandwich with house made potato chips and a side salad. By the time I looked up from my delicious blackened tilapia with chipotle glaze the chips were pretty much gone and I was assured that they were also delicious. My tilapia was preceded by a cup of just right chicken tortilla soup. Check out the menu. They really do Mexican, Italian and traditional American. Highly recommended for a casual dinner out with friends where careful attention is paid to food quality preparation and presentation. This whole thing clocked in at under $50. read more

I can't believe it has taken me two years to try this restaurant! The first time I went at lunch with my sister and I had the Buffalo chicken sandwhich with hash browns and it was one of the best spicy chicken sandwiches I've ever had. Hash browns were fresh cut in house and amazing. It was so good I brought my husband and daughter back for breakfast on Saturday and it was just as good if not better. We had an omelet and breakfast burrito. The service was amazing. Our waitress was so kind and attentive and even brought our daughter a special "dessert" on the house - a chocolate chip pancake! Nice that is comes with the option of sweet potato fries at the same price. The salads are fresh. Made with choice ingredients throughout the salad. It's not just lettuce with some things on top. They make the absolutely best potatoes, no matter what kind, hash browns, mashed, fries, etc... and I'm a very picky person when it comes to potatoes. This seems to be newer place, so I gave it a try. I ordered delivery, and the food came hot/ready to eat. The Shrimp Carbonara was creamy and seasoned well, but the bacon pieces did make it a tad salty. Tortilla Soup was creamy and smooth, tasted good, but it lacked any ingredients except chicken and the tortilla strip chips. Decent menu though, worth trying other items! read more

i visited mixto for the first time for lunch with three friends on friday the 13th. the restaurant itself is a bit of a challenge to find, even with waze, and that is a shame... because the food and service are fantastic. i ordered the portobello salad and sweet potato fries for the table to share. our server brought two condiments with it: ranch dressing and ketchup. the fries were YUM!!! my salad was excellent with huge pieces of portobello mushrooms, expertly grilled and still warm. the greens were crisp and GREEN! the balsamic dressing was great. i usually am fine and stop at the entrée but today i asked for dessert. thank goodness i did. friends had apple strudel and i won with my choice of coconut cheesecake. it was fantastic! i did share... i did not check out the bathroom but the interior is bright, clean and welcoming. our server was the best and also was gracious to give us separate checks. the restaurant is family owned and the chef is terrific! i will go back to try their dinner menu and highly recommend this restaurant. read more

This place isn't much to look at, but both my husband and I thought the food was excellent! Husband had a hamburger and said it was one of the best he had ever had. I had the chicken sandwich with mangoes and spicy sauce and it was terrific! Our sandwiches were nothing compared to the tres loches (?) dessert, which was to die for. They've been open 18 months, and other restaurants have not succeeded in this location, but after having visited there for the first time we hope they do last. The service was very good. Both servers were very attentive and the cook even waved to us when we left. They brought us free homemade chips and salsa, and both were very good. I ordered the spicy seafood linguine. I like spicy food, and I appreciate that they offered to make it extra spicy, which they did. It was really good and I even took almost half for home--and I have a big appetite! My 21-year-old got the house burger with cheese. It was good and perfectly done. It was exactly what you would expect of a high-end restaurant burger. The bun was very good, and he's picky on that. He got the mac and cheese as a side, which was good, and he loves to put that on his burger. My daughter-in-law got the penne rosa with shrimp. She said the anchovies really helped complete the meal. The shrimp was perfectly charred. She liked it. My wife got the tilapia filet with a side salad. The salad was very freshly put together. The tilapia and rice was fine--nothing exceptional, but no complaints. It was a really good meal. Not cheap, but not inappropriate.
