It's small but there are a lot of options considering. Garden plants, outdoor flowers, trees including some fruit, supplies, and be sure to go inside to see the indoor plants. Got a cute little Desert Rose there still healthy almost a year later and I'm plotting on one of the beautiful orchids next. You can tell the owner really cares about the plants by the way he handles them. He seemed a little aloof when I first went, but he's just not a sales-y kind of guy, which I prefer; he's helpful and very knowledgeable. read more

YELP, how much are they paying you???In short, unspeakably terrible customer service on a dead Sunday morning with no other customers in sight. Woman at the register was rude and entirely unhelpful. In May, during COVID, I ordered online and was told I'd get a message when it was ready for pickup. I am high risk so I was glad that they would have everything ready for me and I wouldn't have to walk around the store. After about a week of not hearing anything I called and was told that I'd have to come pick out my purchase myself and that the plants weren't even set aside so they couldn't guarantee that what I'd already purchased was in stock. I asked for a refund and was told no, that I had to come get the plants (still...not set aside). And I told them that I couldn't do that because of health concerns and they refused to do anything. I emailed and no one responded so finally I reached out through my credit card and filed it as unfulfilled purchase. Then the real fun started, the owner (I think) proceeded to call and text me constantly harassing me saying I was trying to get double money back (they only refunded me after my credit card reached out). Fine, I understand they're upset, but the owner called and texted me from multiple numbers every 10-15 for days. I kept having to block new numbers. It was honestly the worst experience I've ever had and I was a bit freaked out. read more

We love coming here. The guy with the long dreads helped us find an awesome plant and then suggested that we come back the next day since they were getting more in that were even healthier. i mean who does that? So nice! The prices are great - that said we're used to Sprout in Williamsburg which is beautifully curated and wonderfully hip but a complete rip off (the exact same plant at Natty was $50 that was $100 at Sprout - I mean COME ON). So - we're Natty loyal now even though we have to drive down. I dig the vibe and won't miss the Sprout snob factor. read more

Reasonable prices, lots of plants and flowers to choose from. The tropical selection inside is AWESOME... It was pretty busy when I was there, but the girl on staff was super helpful and found me a nice planter that perfectly fit my needs. I'm not from BK but whenever I'm in town I stop by here. it's a little pricey (compared to where I'm from anyway) but tons of happy, sweet, and often unique plants. I can't figure out why people don't like the dreaded guy who works (manages?) there-- i love him, have always found him very helpful with advice and plant care tips. :-) read more

Natty Garden is everything you'd want in a neighborhood garden center, right down to the awesome mural on the south side of the building. Great selection, particularly indoor and compact outdoor plants for urban gardening in confined spaces. Everything's healthy and grows splendidly after purchase. This is all a tribute to the owner, who is helpful and really knows his stuff. Heck, even the potting soil is well-chosen. read more

Have never been here when the guy who works there (owner, maybe?) hasn't tried switching up the prices at the register. And its not just some personal vendetta against me, I've hung back and watched him do it to other customers as well. If you're not rock solid on the price ahead of time (and not much is marked), he'll probably switch things up on you. Walked over on a Sunday afternoon for soil and planters - I was wary after reading some of the reviews here, but I had a very pleasant experience. There was a woman working at the counter, and while she seemed to be the only person available to help customers, she was friendly and knew her stuff. The prices for basic pots and soil seemed good to me. I'm happy to have this place in my neighborhood and will definitely be back again. read more

I love this place! All around amazing experience. I'm an interior designer and I went in doing research for a client of mine. Joel was extremely helpful and insightful in recommending indoor plants for the conditions of my clients home. I ended up buying a plant for myself because he had so much advice to offer and a great selection. A few weeks later I returned with my client and he was yet again very helpful and provided lots of help and information. I look forward to working with him in the future! Two thumbs up. read more

Customer service is not a priority at this garden center. Even though the shop was basically empty this afternoon, both associates ignored me until I asked a question, then treated my query like an inconvenience. Not even a smile when you bring your haul up to the register. They do have a lovely assortment of succulents though. read more

OK, I HAD to write a review for this plant shop because I just had THE WORST experience, ever. I just moved into the area 2 months ago. I decided my new apt needed some sprucing up with some nice plants. I saw this store, natty garden, a few times on my way to work. I read its reviews on yelp, found them to be positive, and went in about 3 weeks ago to buy some new plants. At first, the owner or staffer seemed really friendly and gave me some helpful tips on the care of plants and gave me some tea. I liked the friendly atmosphere and variety so I decided to buy as much as I could carry (even though it was very over-priced), which were and 2 palms and and bonsai. I then came back in my pickup to get more, which were a ficus tree, and a bunch of evergreens. About 2 weeks later, not only did a third of the plants start dying (I was feeding them and watering properly according to the owners directions), my apartment became infested with MITES! In about a week my entire bedroom (where I kept the plants) had thousands and thousands of tiny white MITES! I started to get rashes and infections and went to the doctor to find I have SCABIES! I called natty after the doctors to merely inform them of what happened in order to prevent what happened to me to other customers... And the first thing I hear is "sorry I can't give you a refund..." ekkkkkkkkkk!!!!!!!! When I tried explaining, I got the cold shoulder from these "friendly" guys at the shop. Needless to say, I threw out all the plants from that shop and I never went back. I'd just like to WARN any potential customer of theirs to be more careful on what they're buying from natty garden. They have a nice selection and reasonable prices. The manager/owner is absolutely terrible at customer service. Everyone else who works there is helpful and professional apart from the man with the long dreadlocked hair. He is either the manager or the owner and he has ignored me before when trying to make a purchase by refusing to help me by not coming to the register, sending the message I was not welcome in his store, so I left. He has yelled at his employees in front of customers and he has refused to speak to me when checking out on several occasions. I like to support local businesses but he is so rude it is not worth it. read more

Every single time I go there the service is terrible. It's generally the guy who's there that's the worst. Absolutely no personality just plain rude! Went there once when there was a girl there and she was no better it was like dealing with robots except robots would probably be programmed to be nicer. i came in for advice on how to start new plants and assistant in rescuing current leafy friends that aren't feeling very perky. i found the man that worked there to be friendly and helpful! the shop is cozy, quaint and charming: in other words, they're not a huge gardening center but they have an adequate selection of pots, soil and seedling plants. the prices are reasonable. they're conveniently situated at the junction of crown heights, prospect heights and clinton hill where there is little to no decent home and garden stores. read more

Went here today to get some plants for my apt. The guy working there was very knowledgeable, but not the most friendly. I dont know, maybe newbies like me are annoying? One of the best selections of house plants I've seen in Brooklyn/ NYC. All the plants of good quality, and the prices are fair. The service is laid back, which I think people take as rude, but you can just ask to helped or ask questions and it's fine. If you want house plants that'll actually live, go here. read more

Ive been giving my business to this place for two years now, and I am finally giving up. I agree with many reviewers here, the owner seems unhappy about serving or even having customers, and is generally pretty unfriendly. He knows me as Ive been visiting regularly for ages, but I still get a really chilly reception, and am left standing at the counter for ages while he idly chats to someone else whose already been served. Its really passive aggressive. Hardware 2.0 around the corner on atlantic is now where I buy soil and non plant garden supplies. the service there is EXCELLENT. So helpful!
