I am a vegetarian and I have to say this restaurant has lot of good options for vegetarians and vegans. I opted for chillaquilles veggie on the entrée. Came here right off the plane. Was able to "veganize" the vegatarian tacos (I think) and they were pretty great. Not like any other taco I've had before. Whole wheat soft taco with greens that tasted more Asian than Mexican, but hit the spot none the less. The verde hot sauce was tasty but not very hot. It's hard to spot, It's next to an OXXO and there's a "Hostel" sign next door and a bar. Its has a lot of overgrown foliage in front. Don't park where the Oxxo is, unless you don't mind paying 20pesos for someone to "watch" your car, like I did. I'm looking forward to going back here again. read more

Went here for breakfast. Places is quite,interesting with outdoorsy decor. Had the frijoladas and fresh made vegetable juice. Both were delicious. My friend had Yucatán style chilaquiles and said that they were finger licking good. Only complaint is that parking is difficult however there is a paid parking across the express way. ***Tip*** Don't let the attendant charge you more then $20 pesos especially if you are only planning to park there while you eat! Bf and I was looking to take a break from cheesy tacos and fried chips in hotel zone and bumped in to this restaurant . This place serves more of a fusion Mexican cuisine geared towards tourist palate. We started of with wine and beer. I dint care much for the complimentary roasted jalapeños and sour cream sauce. Great fine in Cancun. We always like finding out-of-the-way, non-chain, non-American, monkey restaurants when traveling. Very casual atmosphere with extremely friendly employees. My wife was a little Spanish but that's all in our group of nine. I think they were happy to have Spanish with them their English was perfect Great all around. We were two families of nine with kids age 10 to 15. Ordered a lot of different types of menu items from burritos to chilaquilles, fajitas and pasta. All dishes had a great flavor and were loved by everyone. Most everyone ordered some of their fresh juice drinks. The favorites were # 10, #5 & #19. The only item that wasn't top-notch was the Caesar salad. Some of the lettuce was a little wilted and the dressing was very creamy without a lot of flavor. We had the shrimp in pineapple dish as an appetizer split between 4 people. I highly recommend their burritos for comfort food. Ok so I had high hopes, but severely disappointed. The guacamole was just mashed avocados.. :o no seasoning, no onion or tomatoes..! When asked about that, was given pica de gallo on the side to mix in ourselves :S The pastas were bland! The "spicy" pasta was as bland as leftover water from cooking the pasta. The menu said the pesto pasta had pine nuts, ok. But when the dish comes out its filled with walnuts that my friend was allergic to. Worst dining experience I've had. We came to this place after looking at the highly positive ratings on Yelp. Here's a breakdown: 1. When asked for knives and forks, we were given a plate with cockroaches running all over the cutlery, and the waiter didn't even notice when he kept the plate on our table. When I lifted the plate up, about 5-6 cockroaches dropped on The floor. This should have been the first sign for us to leave this place. After alerting the nearby cashier of this, we didn't receive an apology or any kind of remorse from the restaurant. They simply replaced the cutlery in a new plate (or probably the old one with the roaches dusted off, who knows.) 2. We ordered a soup, a mushroom appetizer and a pasta for our main course. And then I swear we grew a couple of grey hairs by the time we got our food. We were left waiting for 40 minutes without even our soup or appetizer making it to our table. When we asked the waiter, he simply nodded and walked away (this happened about 3 times). When we finally called him to our table and said we've been waiting more than 40 min, our food magically appeared within 10 seconds. Guess they were waiting for the cockroaches to reproduce on our pasta. 3. Coming to the food, the mushroom appetizer that was supposed to be a spicy stir fry with red peppers was just a mountain of steamed mushrooms with no taste whatsoever. The soup was bland as well. For the main course we order a penne pasta with spinach and cheese sauce and we got a spaghetti instead that was barely edible. By this point I forgot why we were still sitting here. 4. To top it all off, we found roaches creeping up our chairs as we were eating. That's when we decided to stop. 5. The only thing that arrived at our table on time was the cheque. Which to our surprise already included a tip (we were just two people). I wasn't planning on leaving a tip for this place and even that didn't go our way. Now as we are walking back to our hotel, I feel like I could use a good stomach cleanse. Bottom line: DO NOT GO HERE! read more

This was one of my favorite places. Cozy atmosphere, top notch service and vegan options. I was voiceless (aphonic) and our waiter bringed a concoction of hot lemon and tea, that was such an amazing detail. I have to say the food in this place is excellent, the juices are delicious and the prices very fair. We visited twice while visiting Cancun and tried the omelettes, french toast, bacon, orange juice, smoothies and scrambled eggs over tortillas with turkey and tomato sauce, everything very tasty. The issue we had is with quality and speediness of the service. It took a good 40 minutes to get our food and you had to yell at the waiter to get acknowledged. The first day we went the place was packed, so we decided to give it another chance, the following day it wasn't that busy but it was slower. We wondered if they only have one cook back there because all the other tables were going through the same. If you like tasty food, and a big lot of time to spend, definitely visit this restaurant. If you are trying to grab a quick breakfast find another place, the minimum time you'll spend in this place is a good hour, most likely more. Tip to my fellow americans: Pay in Mexican pesos if possible, their exchange rate is a rip off! read more

We went here for breakfast one day after watching sunrise. I was initially feeling lazy and wanted to stick to the restaurant inside our hotel. But then we changed our mind and decided to give this place a try(for it had awesome reviews on Yelp). I am glad we did. The seating was very nice(lots of trees all around). Although it was right by the road(Blvd. Kukulkan) the trees kept it shady and nice. Lot of foreigners frequent the place and it seems to be popular among visitors). I ordered a Mananero - sandwich with croissant bread and eggs and tomato in it and a grapefruit juice that was fresh and huge. My fiancé got a different dish with ham,peas eggs and tomato spread over a bed of nachos(Motulenos). He also got a chocolate, banana, granola milkshake that was nice and quite filling. We had a satisfying meal that didn't seem too oily and looked and tasted great. Service was pretty fast. Healthy food, vegetarian friendly place. read more

My wife and I had a good meal here. The tropical fruit smoothies were amazing! I had a virgin pina colada, she had the pineapple-apple-ginger. Both were fresh, tasty, sweet and light. The guacamole was fresh and delicious, especially after we added a bit of lime juice and salt. The cactus salad was great, and the authentic Mexican dishes looked great. Not many good places in Cancun. This is the safest bet. We ate here 3 times and didn't get the runs. Food is healthy and not oily. Smoothies is made from real fruits. Omelettes are better than average in Cancun and comparable to good places in Bay Area. Pan cakes are as good as it gets. read more
