One of the best AYCE buffets I've ever had-- tasted even better knowing it was included in the resort :') For COVID safety purposes, some staff wear masks, and tables are sanitized frequently and thoroughly. The waitstaff are incredibly attentive and friendly, though definitely trying to upsell La Veranda's specialty drinks (charged at an extra cost to the card presented at check-in, though usually $5 or less). I think breakfast and lunch serve the same items, though dinner changes by the weekday. Some nights, the patio area has additional stalls that serve other dishes like tacos, paella, etc. Performers sing or dance nightly to accompany meals, usually matching the "theme" of the evening (ex. American, Italian, Asian). The quality and variety is phenomenal-- my photos barely capture the array of dishes available every day. I had to laugh at some of the options clearly pandering towards to average picky American eater (WHO GOES TO CANCUN FOR HOT DOGS AND PIZZA) My only gripe is that multiple beverages or soups are left out without lids... Dust or dirt could easily settle in and sink into the liquid :S And several dishes are left out without a sneeze guard... Who knows what happens then. NOTE: swimsuits aren't permitted in La Veranda-- clothing/coverups required to check in for any meal. You'll need to provide your room number each time.

Very nice spacious place with indoor and outdoors seating. The staff is really on top of their game. They make sure your happy satisfied and full when you leave. I would recommend the shrimp ceviche good portion fresh and tasty. They also have a buffet style dining. The food is not bad at all. I stuck to the menu as oppose to buffet as I'm more into quality not quantity. If you order a glass of wine red or white it's always chilled. Tried a mojito not bad but I added a shot of rum cause it was slightly weak! For a hotel restaurant you can't go wrong here. They do breakfast lunch and dinner. Full bar clean place clean bathrooms. My suggestion is make sure the food is cooked well.

Their breakfast is better than lunch.

I was at this buffet for 2 days so far (breakfast & lunch). Their breakfast is like a normal breakfast any restaurant serves, but in buffet style. However, it's slightly more limited, and when something runs out, they either take a while to replace it, or just switch it out with something from the lunch menu. They have a place on a counter where they also give out freely squeezed watermelon juice. When I went, the food was pretty ok, and tasted sort of store bought. The smoked salmon was the best thing they had to offer, since it wasn't super salty. However, I suggest not eating their donuts. I don't know if it was just that day I was there, but when I was, the donuts weren't good. At lunch the following day, the food was even more limited than breakfast, having multiple places serving the same food. I was somewhat disappointed in the food they made, since I had tried and disliked the majority of it. The salad bar was messy. I'm guessing some rowdy people decided to be picky and mess it up. If this had happened, I'd expect atleast one of the staff members to clean it up or something. Their steak was quite over cooked and very chewy as well. In a nutshell, breakfast was way better and I'd recommend that over their lunch anytime.

It happened to be closed on the night we planned to eat there, which was frustrating. Honestly, I wish the resort would provide a schedule at check-in showing which restaurants are open and closed each night. We ran into that issue with more than one restaurant during our trip. For breakfast, Siete is very much a traditional buffet. There's a large selection, but some of the breads and pastries sit out in the open and can get stale pretty quickly. The omelet stations were one of the better features. They have two of them, which helps keep the lines moving, and there are a ton of toppings to choose from. The omelets were pretty good, although like most omelet bars, they were slightly overcooked. The standout part of breakfast was the fresh fruit and smoothie station. I believe the gentleman working there was named Marco, and he was awesome. He made our smoothies three different mornings and was always energetic, friendly, and happy to help people figure out what flavors would work well together. They had an impressive selection of ingredients too, including things like prickly pear, aloe vera, and other fruits and vegetables you don't normally see at a breakfast buffet. They also have cereal, meats, a Bloody Mary station, and plenty of other breakfast options, so there's something for just about everyone. Service overall was just okay, but the hostesses were really nice and welcoming. Not the most amazing breakfast buffet I've ever had, but it was a solid option each morning, and Marco alone made the experience a lot more enjoyable. I would definitely eat breakfast here again.

Housekeeping replaced them, but the odor and overall condition never improved. Not what you expect at this level. Then it got worse. We had two rooms, one at this hotel and one at a neighboring hotel where a large group of our family was staying. That other hotel requires wristbands, which we had, so security here assumed we didn't belong, even though we had rooms at this property. At the pool, they approached us publicly and repeatedly questioned us, over and over, in front of everyone. No attempt to verify privately, no discretion, just standing over us and making a scene. It was humiliating. Then it happened again. While checking out, we crossed back onto this property to retrieve our luggage that they were holding. Security stopped us again and treated us like we were doing something wrong, only to confirm, once again, that we were legitimate guests. Two separate incidents. Same behavior. The level of aggression and lack of professionalism from security is completely out of control. This is not how paying guests should ever be treated. This wasn't just a misunderstanding, it was a failure in how guests are handled, and it happened more than once. We will never stay here again.

However, we found that for the price this restaurant does a very good job with the service, food, and entertainment. Prices are consistent with other hotel restaurants, especially for the buffet. However, considering the food quality and service it is within reason. The best value are some of dinner theme nights. We have gone to Mayan Night this year. Last year we went to the Seafood on the Beach night. However, I found that for Taco night the prices were too high. Since you can go an across the street at La Isla for more than half the price. Not only is the food fresh and tasty, the service is excellent. When I asked our main waiter what is Mayan food, he took me to the buffet and explained which foods are traditionally Mayan and how they were historically prepared. There were other foods that were more Mexican than Mayan and though delicious wasn't what I was looking to experience that night. As I wandered around the buffet area trying to determine what I was going to eat, more than 1 server asked if they could help me. I just couldn't decide since there were a lot of food options. For families with big appetites, the buffet nights are a deal. It's also an experience with the entertainment. I enjoyed both Mayan night and Seafood night because of them. The entertainment is consistent with those you find at other high end establishments that we have paid more than double the prices. Last year the fire show on the beach was fantastic. This year the Mayan performers were equally entertaining. We were seated very close to the entertainers which was a big plus. What Oceano is lacking is modern decor to compete with the new swanky restaurants that have been opening up in the hotel zone area. The vibe of the restaurant is hotel breakfast cafe, and not high end restaurant. Very small bar. However, with just a few updates and extending the patio to more an indoor outdoor dining with newer chairs, they maybe able to attract more customers.

Once we stepped onto the deck overlooking the lagoon, the whole experience elevated even further. The scenery was stunning, soft lights reflecting off the water, a gentle breeze, and live music drifting through the air like the perfect soundtrack to an already unforgettable night. Then came the food, each dish was its own little masterpiece. The bread service alone set the tone: warm, golden rolls with just the right touch off salt. The wedge salad followed. It was crisp, cold, and generously dressed, with smoky bacon and bright tomatoes adding all the right contrasts. The dry-aged steak was the star of the table, cooked perfectly with that deep, rich flavor only dry-aging can create. The roasted peppers and silky sauce on the side made every bite feel intentional. The octopus was another standout, tender, beautifully charred, and plated with a vibrant puree that balanced the dish with a touch of sweetness. One of the best plates we had. The table got more entrees since there were 8 of us but didn't get pictures. Sea brass was another favorite. Even the lobster soup arrived with flair: a velvety bowl paired with a seafood-topped toast that brought texture and richness together in one elegant bite. The beef tartare with fries was classic and fresh, refined without losing its fun. Dessert turned into a full performance. The liquid-nitrogen ice cream came with swirling clouds of cold vapor, dramatic and delicious. The birthday cake arrived crowned with berries and a sparkling candle that lit up the whole table. And just when we thought the night couldn't get any more whimsical, out came the towering blue cotton candy, playful, over-the-top, and impossible not to smile at. Harry's doesn't just serve dinner. We came to Harry's a couple years back when we visited Cancun and I am celiac and I had a lovely dinner with my partner. On this visit, we were seated at a beautiful table and we ordered drinks. Our waiter, a bald headed young man 30s, refused to check with the kitchen to see if they could accommodate me. I am celiac not vegan. I was told there was nothing I could eat except steak and he proceeded to show us the entire steak selection. Truthfully I was feeling slightly unwell from not eating the entire day. I felt like fish, he said I can give you dry fish no sauce on top. He suggested maybe we just do appetizers. We had a 8 pm dinner reservation, what the hell would I want to order appetizers and call it day? This waiter was chit chatting with his maitre'd and other wait staff and I felt terribly uncomfortable that i was told I couldn't eat anything from the men, we we all know was ridiculous and not true. We finished our drinks and asked for the check. I made a reservation for Porfirios next door bc I could see they had some gluten free options. Harry's used to be accommodating but no longer. We will not come to Harry's again for food. Not only this, the waiter was trying to once again embarrass us by advising us that we could walk to Porfirios, next door to the restaurant from the back patio. We got up and began walking towards the patio and suddenly I realized he was totally making a fool of us, why would we go from the back if we have to check in with the hostess stand in the front of the restaurant? We walked straight out of Harry's from front door. Never again. So disrespectful and such a rude experience. Not only this, Harry's canceled/ removed our open table reservation (even though we fulfilled it and paid for our drinks and still tipped generously), so I cannot even leave a review and send a private message to the restaurant. Pathetic customer service.

We checked in on a Sunday around 4:30, and the room was already cleaned up and ready. We stayed in one of the terrace rooms on the fourth floor, and the room was well maintained the whole trip. Housekeeping was really good, and the lady who seemed to consistently clean our room was super friendly. They also do evening turndown service between about 6 and 9, which I liked more than I thought I would. The food was hit or miss. Sea Corner was easily the biggest disappointment. You really have to like ceviche to enjoy that spot. I tried the battered fish taco, which was a really small rolled fried fish taco and honestly tasted kind of stale. The red snapper tostada was okay, but still pretty subpar. Overall, Sea Corner is one I would skip. Ciete's breakfast buffet was decent, but still very buffet. Some of the food had that stale, been-sitting-out-too-long taste, but the omelet bar and fresh juice/smoothie bar helped a lot. They have two omelet bars, which spreads people out, and Marco at the smoothie bar was awesome. He remembered me after my first smoothie and was friendly the rest of the trip. Azure was pretty good. We split hummus and pita, and I got the chicken in red wine. The chicken was cooked perfectly and came on a bed of mashed potatoes that were really good. Dessert was just okay. The baklava was very cinnamon-heavy and almost tasted like a churro. MB was good and definitely felt like their "dress up" restaurant. I had the stuffed chicken, my girlfriend had the veal cheek, and we also tried the filet mignon. The filet was cooked perfectly medium rare, and the meal overall was good. Not amazing, but one of the better dinners there. Hidden Garden was probably our favorite restaurant. We went there twice because it was that good compared to the other options. The samosas, gyoza, chicken satay, shrimp fried rice, and desserts were all really good. The Thao, basically their version of orange chicken, was also really good. The pad Thai was okay, but sweeter than I prefer. Their signature cocktails were also really good. The Thursday night show was a nice part of the trip. They had a buffet by the pool, with a mariachi band from 7 to 8 and traditional Mexican dancing from 8 to 9. The dancing was almost like a theater-style show, and that part was great. The buffet was on par or slightly below par. They had a crepe bar, a grill with pretty good steak and chicken, and a couple decent soups, but a lot of it still had that left-out-too-long, slightly stale buffet taste. The entertainment and activities were a big highlight. Trivia every night was great, and karaoke was a blast once people started getting into it. Pablo hosted trivia and karaoke with Jorge as the DJ, and Pablo brought a lot of energy. Jorge also DJs at Egos later at night, and they played a good mix of American dance music and Latin dance music. During the day, we tried archery, water aerobics, bingo, the guacamole class, casino night, and a self-facial class. Archery was a blast, and aqua aerobics in the infinity pool was really fun. Ricky was a ball of energy, and Jocelyn was really cool too. The activities did not feel like boring resort filler, which was a nice surprise. A few things could be better. Pool towel service closes at 6, even though people are still in the pool later. There is also basically no shade in most of the pools, so you get crispy pretty fast. They also need to be clearer about which pool beds are first-come, first-serve and which ones are paid or for Club Aqua. I saw multiple people get moved because it was not explained well. Communication could be better too. Some restaurants are closed on certain days, probably because the resort was around 50% capacity, but they should give you a schedule at check-in. We planned to try Verana, their Italian restaurant, and then found out it was closed that day. The humidity is something to think about. Obviously it is Cancun, but the indoor areas and hallways do not have much air circulation. Our fourth-floor hallway also had a broken water feature with sitting water, and I think that made the hallway smell more humid and musky than the rest of the resort. The drinks were decent, but I would not go in expecting strong resort cocktails. I drank margaritas and pina coladas most of the trip and never really felt much from them. For stronger drinks, shots are probably the better route. Overall, Live Aqua Cancun was a really nice, relaxing trip. The staff was friendly, the room was clean, the activities were way more fun than expected, and Hidden Garden was a nice surprise. The food is not amazing across the board, the pool setup could be better, and communication could use work, but I still had a really good time. Good resort, not perfect, but definitely worth checking out.
