I thought I was walking into another ordinary ice cream store. It's not. They do have ice cream (about 12 flavors). It's their fruit menu that really sets them apart. I got the Escamocha (small $5). It's basically a Greek style yogurt, which contains various fruit (incl. coconut slices), granola, plain yogurt and honey. The fruit was fresh and varied. I asked for just a little bit of honey and it was still sweet enough. Most people got a smoothie, which uses fresh fruit as well. They have various other fruit and smoothie options and even broccoli and cheese (huh?!). I actually like broccoli and cheese but it seemed out of place here. The only thing I didn't like was one of their staple smoothies. I forget the name but it was mango smoothie with some spicy/salty red stuff. It was so not good. The straw came with that red stuff in jelly form wrapped around it. I don't know what the attraction is but it's not for me. The ladies that worked the front was very friendly and helpful in explaining the menu. They might do well to put up pics so they don't have to re-answer the same questions. Mexican style drinks and snacks! *Corn cup: VERY yummy. I've had some from the streets of TJ and remember being a bit traumatized by seeing all the butter, cheese and mayo they put in it. This one was very tasty and didn't feel as heavy. *Lomo sandwich: good and a tad spicy. I chose the torta bread which was crunchy. *Mango smoothie: good. I saw tablespoons of sugar being added on the blender but surprisingly didn't taste too sweet. My friend was the one who suggested to come here since we were in the area. She's crazzzzyyy about their elote! So ~naturally~ (pun intended) we had to get it. We got the large size to share and OOHHHH lemme tell u bout dat cheese. The cheese on top was really melty and when you pull up on it, you get that niiiice pulled cheese. The first half of the elote was great, but closer to the bottom the sauce and liquid builds up which sort of overpowers the taste. I wish there were more texture though. Some crunch would have really added too the experience. Protip: try it with some In n Out fries across the street ;o We also got the mangonada since I was thirsty. We ordered two smoothies, which by the way are not milk-based. My was papaya, raspberry, lime and kiwi; GF's was papaya, mango and raspberry. Both amazingly fresh. They have amazing variety of drinks and even offer a version of gaspacho (yes, written with an 's', not a 'z', as it should be), that instead of tomatoes, is made with beets. The place is a hole-in the wall, just minutes from the Disney mayhem so the crowd is a mixed bag (locals and tourists alike). I struggled between a 4 or 5 rating! They are also watery and expensive for the size. I got a small for 4, and the tamarind stick was mediocre. In my opinion I will just go to cancun juice by Lincoln instead. Today I had a really bad experience. I called ahead of time in order to have my order ready by the time I arrived at the location. When I was placing my order I was told that I was going to be charged extra for removing fruit that I do not like on a bionico. It looks like pink cream mixed with strawberries and powdered sugar on top. First bite I took it was just okay...maybe because I was too full.
