So almost a decade. Since I had been here. There has been so many additions and improvements to this waterpark. I love that they are putting an edit into improving the park. Every time we come, we never pay for the waterpark because we attend the seminar for the timeshares and they give us free passes! I love that I am now able to pass this tradition on to my children.

My suggestion is go early - ride the lazy river and whatever you really want to ride. This place fills up quickly. If you have little kids I'm sure they would have a blast. However our older kids got bored quickly and literally said - this is it?? The lazy river is small The outside water slides are very simplistic and can get huge lines. The wave park is small there's no other word here to even begin to describe it. The one flow rider that they have - the two guys running it let a person on and gave them all sorts of time if they liked the person. 4 people were in front of my kids and it took more than 45 min for them to get a turn. So not worth the wait. Granted we have been to Hershey Park water park which is about 10x+ bigger than this waterpark. We also are close to Kalahari and Great Wolf both of which have larger water parks than this place. Overall review 2.5 stars - again little kids would probably have a great time. Older kids not so much. However the price tag just isn't worth what you get. Beware they are adding on an adult only area. Looks to be more hotel than waterpark.

Dinosaur Land is a fabulous tourist attraction that could be in a Chevy Chase movie. Life size…read moredinosaur sculptures and a few other creatures fill the forest of this Shenandoah Valley wonder. Joseph Geraci started Dinosaur Land back in 1967. Thirty five of the original dinosaurs were created by James Sidwell, who was famous for his dinosaur replicas at the Field Museum in Chicago. Newer dinosaurs and creatures were crafted by Mark Cline, a local artist. I spoke with Geraci's granddaughter, who works in the gift shop. She explained that her grandfather passed away 40 years ago and her mother now owns the park. Four generations of Geraci's have worked at the park. Admission is $7 for kids under eleven and $9 for all others. Visitors can take photos up close with the dinosaurs and other creatures including a giant octopus. The self-guided tour takes 30-60 minutes. The park is open from March through December. The gift shop is filled with tee shirts, toy dinos, postcards, books, glassware and other souvenirs. Dinosaur Land is a fun place to take the kids or your favorite dinosaur enthusiast. The sculptures are amazing works of art.

I was excited to see penguins, lemurs, squirrel monkeys, tigers, and a king cheetah at the park. I would not have guessed that VA would house these animals. I was also excited to see the giraffes and rhinoceroses. The park was clean, and there were plenty of wild animals to see. As a bonus, potholes were scarce.

They only stopped the rides that were next to It which was only two. I was on the dinosaur ride with my daughter right next to it and saw the whole thing happened. You heard the chain Snap and then all of a sudden the kids and the parents that were on it started screaming. Please beware of this place if you're gonna spend your money, spend it at the state fair or with another carnival company. They have a shorter/easier course for the little ones who aren't tall enough to go up to the two higher courses. My 8 year old really enjoyed the challenge of the course. Some paths were easier than others and took some time to go through. We had 12 kids in our group and there was plenty of room for all of them to be on the course at the same time. The instructors that hooked them up with the harnesses was very kind and patient with all the kids. The weather was beautiful this day and so they really took their time on the ropes. I would imagine this might be rough to do in the summer heat though.

During my visit, I witnessed the course operator make a female guest cry. Her child (maybe 5 yrs…read moreold) was new to the country and didn't speak English very well. He came to the exit and the operator disconnected him before his parent could explain that he couldn't get back on. When the mother asked for an exception due to the language barrier, she was told that if he's going to be in America then he need to speak English. He then left his post to confront another guest who was nearby that told him his behavior was very rude. She told him to get out of her face and to walk away and he refused. Meanwhile, there are multiple people waiting to exit the course because he was too preoccupied trying to intimidate a woman. I've never seen an employee represent a tourist attraction so poorly. My family and I won't be coming back nor will I encourage any of my friends to go. But if you're looking for something new with a side of sexism and racism, have at it.
