This the only fish store I will go to from now on. The employees are so knowledgeable in all things like: what to feed your fish, what fish go best together and they even will test your water in your tank for free!

The Jacksonville Zoo is one of our absolute favorite spots for toddlers/kids! The African Forest…read moreexhibit is fantastic - the elevated tunnels give you amazing, close up views of the gorillas and bonobos. Another huge hit is the Giraffe Overlook, where you can walk right up to the platform and feed them eye-to-eye. When the heat gets to be too much, the splash pad is a must. It's safe, clean, and the perfect size for little ones to cool off. Pro-Tip: Pack a swimsuit, water shoes, towel, and swim diaper! I highly recommend getting the Endless Summer Pass if you're visiting for the summer. It pays for itself quickly and makes it so easy to pop in for quick morning zoo walks and splash pad sessions. The total experience tickets are only $20 for members!

The zoo is pretty large probably the largest if not one of the largest zoos in Florida, the staff is friendly and helpful and there is plenty of parking. The negatives I found about this establishment is the prices, they are outrageous but it is a nice zoo with plenty to see and lots of animals. I would visit this zoo again, there is plenty here to do to keep you and your kids busy for a few hours. I recommend checking their hours so you have enough time to enjoy the zoo while you also have time to get away from the Florida heat for a bit and enjoy a meal, this zoo offers different places to eat.

This isn't a massive, overwhelming aquarium, and that's actually part of its charm. The space is clean, well-organized, and thoughtfully designed to let you slow down and really appreciate the exhibits. You'll see a nice variety of sea life, from colorful reef fish and sharks to stingrays and local Florida species, all displayed in a way that feels both engaging and approachable. What truly sets this place apart is the interactive experience. The staff is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they do. They take the time to explain, answer questions, and make the visit feel personal rather than rushed. The touch tanks are a big highlight--hands-on, educational, and fun for kids and adults alike. It's a perfect stop if you want something relaxed, informative, and family-friendly without the crowds. Whether you're visiting with children or just want a peaceful break from sightseeing, the St. Augustine Aquarium offers a refreshing and memorable experience. A great little spot that's well worth the visit.

Did not want to go to a big box store so found Orange Park Aquatics on a google search. It is everything I hoped for - very knowledgeable staff, clean well stocked tanks, great variety of plants, and all the supplies. Received a lot of great advice. I am purchasing a 55 gal tank from them - Jason told me it would be a few dollars cheaper at Petco - so very honest - but I can not get the years of experience and knowledge from a big box employee. Looking forward to my future trips to OPA!

I decided to…read morego here to get 15 gallons of pre-mixed saltwater and to see a "LFS" (Local Fish Store) that I haven't been to in the area. I was surprised to find out that they have pre-mixed saltwater for a dollar a gallon!!!! That's the cheapest I've seen in the area. They also sell RO/DI water for 20 cents a gallon. Once again, an AMAZING price! While there, I actually saw different invertebrates that I've never seen before for sale. Also, a staff member spoke to me and gave me some solid advice on the hobby. The staff member actually spoke to me for about a good 20-25 minutes. They have coral frags for as cheap as $9.99 or 3 for 24.99 and up. Surprisingly they had some decent coral in the $9.99 area. Honestly, if this "LFS" was closer, I would probably go back before the end of next week...
