So this place is huge. It's an aquarium and a fish store and everything. No cost to get in but they take donations. Lots of turtles. It's a really cool place. Something different. Some things aren't marked, so you don't know what you're looking at but still cool. No one here to walk you around or anything. It's just kinda like you're on your own when you walk in. The way that these animals were taken care of could not have been right. Fish in the back area were dead or extremely lethargic, tanks too small, lack of enrichment, etc for most of the animals in the store. The front seemed relatively normal but the back of the store was just depressing. read more

Absolutely top notch. First, let me focus on the staff... super duper kind and helpful. My wife left her card at the cafe and I was able to walk in after they had closed and was greeted with friendly smiles versus a quick "we're closed", which is what I was expecting. Instead they welcomed me in and helped me to locate my wife's card. Aside from the staff... we did the Japanese-style little fish shaped pancakes from the cafe and they were delicious. All of us loved it. And of course, the aquariums of fish, turtles, and coral were beautifully maintained and fun to explore. The amphibians and reptiles were diverse and active. I was not prepared for how massive this place is. It's like an aquarium, pet store, and science center had a baby -- and then added a café! Every corner has something cool to look at, from reef tanks and rare fish to their incredible rehabilitation setups for rescued animals. Floating Sea Aquatics is a new spot for the family and they absolutely loved it! This place is like a museum and cafe, all-in-one. I truly believe the kids could spend hours at this place from the interactive sensory walls, the reptiles, fish and more...there is so much to do! They also have games, books and a cafe. The food was pretty good and had a solid Kid's menu for our kiddos. We will have to try more of the menu next time but it seemed like the menu had limited options. Helpful staff, extensive aquatic variety, rescue/recovery/rehab, cafe, and store! I thought it was just a fish pet store but it's so much more. The fish and reptiles in the front half of the building are rescues and not for sale but don't fret, the back half has a large variety of critters waiting for a great home. I watched some of the staff and I can tell all of the little ones are well taken care of. On the right side they have a cafe that serves things like smoothies and small plates. There is a good amount of seating as well. In the back, they have knowledgeable staff that can help guide you in the right direction. The store includes a nice selection of items you may need to make your aquarium spectacular. It will take you some time to see everything. I cannot recommend this aquatic center highly enough! I came in knowing nothing about fish--my poor little guy was basically swimming in a swamp--and the owner treated me with the patience of a saint. He explained everything so clearly, never made me feel dumb, and wasn't the least bit pushy. In fact, he told me what I didn't need to buy, which is rare these days. The store itself is incredible--family-owned, with his wife and kids there (so sweet!) and literally hundreds of tanks. It's the coolest pet/aquatic store I've ever seen. You can just tell how much love and passion he has for what he does. If you're new to fishkeeping, or even experienced, this is the place you want to go. I have wanted to visit this café and store for at least two years. My family said they'd take me for Mother's Day! I was not disappointed! The staff is very friendly and the food was made from scratch, but very timely served. I had one of the create your own "bowls" and it was delicious. (They double-checked everything for onion stuff and so I had no allergy issues.) The atmosphere is great fun--aquariums surround the dining area and a "pond" occupies part of the central room's floor. We were excited to see all the various species of fish and reptiles. There are numerous gifts--for all interests--and the business is ecologically supportive and community-minded. There's something of a helter-skelter approach to the decor but that's part of the charm--you find neat items everywhere. It's the perfect spot for a child's birthday party or an educational excursion. Totally family-friendly. I had a wonderful time! (Be aware that some of the drinks in the cooler contain "exotic" ingredients which might produce a harmless buzz. I had coconut water, however, so my enthusiasm is naturally produced.) read more

What an amazing sight that will keep adults entertained while waiting for a quick bite. It is a store slash restaurant. The manager at the restaurant was upbeat and informative. However, there were no french fries to be had. Neither was there a chicken quesidilla on the menu. There was other things missing from the menu. What a bummer! This is another engaging spot for kids and adults alike. There is a homey and huge fish and more superstore. At the restaurant, the music could have been turned down a notch. We were visiting from Hawaii and had seen it on TikTok so we went to check it out, I loved the taiyaki they had at the cafe, highly recommend. We got cookie butter and Nutella and brown sugar with cinnamon. Delicious. The place is FREE to enter and right away it was so cool even for us 20-30+ yr old adults! I inquired about my son holding the reptiles. They usually do them on sundays but we were lucky and the owner (who is an angel) came around the store with a little snake and saw how eager we were to experience them so she let us! Patient, kind, and educational and I loved the rescue stories. She even made sure we all got a turn and photo opt! I was so thankful. Also she has a huge heart. She really cares about animals, children that are impaired and even homeless. I literally saw her give a sandwich and a bag of ice to a man and he was truly thankful for her. We stopped by the gift shop to support and bought my son a hand crochet snake and another stuffed animal. This is definitely a business that has moved me and touched my heart. read more

Almost perfect. I love going there for my fish and Azi is always a great help. Thanks to his guidance. I restarted my 30 gallon tank and went all out on escaping it with life plants, etc. It's a beautiful tank and I have happy fish. My only complaint started out small but mushroom dinner to a real pain in the butt. One of the plants I bought carried in black algae which led to a complete tear down. If I had known how difficult it was to eradicate, I would've tossed my tank and started it out again from scratch with new everything. I was told that well it can happen but in my 65 years of having tanks, I never ran into it before and hope I never do it again lol. But I forgive you all because the rest of the experience and treatment has been very very good. When I'm all stressed out I can't think of a more peaceful place to go and walk around even if I don't intend on coming home with another fish. Like that ever happens lol. read more

We enjoyed what we ordered... * Salmon with Bismati & Veggies * Boomtown Teriyaki Chicken * Creamy Chicken and Potato * Lil Mama's Country Fried Pork Chops: This was on "Today's Special" board and not on menu. Man oh man, one of the finest tasting fried pork chops I have ever had. Cooked just right, not dry. And there was something about the sauce it came in that made you want to drink or slop it up. A must order. Everything tasted like it was made from scratch and all natural ingredients. A head of warning though, be prepared to wait awhile for your food. As mentioned, it is made from scratch, so everything took some time before getting our food. But the wait is so worth it. I plan on coming back. There is so much to see, and there lots of little trinkets and food items to buy to support their business. This place is a real treat. If you are into retiles, fish, and those sort of things. They have quite a bit of rescues plus plenty of things living and not for sale. I will say that most of the stuff is overpriced. Compared to the big box stores locally and online retailers by far. Saw some interesting sea creatures I've never seen before. It's free to browse and the staff members were super cool and informative. Plenty of seating and table games as well. The kids did get bored after being there for about 30 minutes so we checked out the deli. My son had my wife, but really wish I would have taken photos of the menu. The kids menu had pizza, but they only had cheese. Believe it was $7.99 which included a side and a drink. We ordered the Taiyaki instead. One was filled with Nutella. The other was filled with chocolate chips. I would personally rate it a 2/5. My wife and I ordered a refresher drink. Don't remember what it was called but I got the first one on the list. My wife got something with blueberries. I would rate the drinks a 2/5 as well. Personally. I would definitely come back and check out the animals. I loved this place! It's more of a attraction, a place to take kids or for fish tank addicts. It is well thought out and has several areas. They have fresh and salt water fish and adds like shrimp..turtles..snails and than there is a reptile section with snakes and lizards. They have set up the areas with so many thought provoking ideas that your planning out your new backyard before you know it. They also have a Cafe which isn't open on Sun and Mon so looking forward to another trip back soon for that but its a tiki decor and menu items look pretty delish. This place was so cool. Randomly in a shopping center you wouldn't know there's basically a free aquarium inside. They also have an area for drinks but that wasn't available when I went in. They sell a lot of supplies for fish and fish tanks but it's so scenic and beautiful to just come and look at all the different fish and reptiles. It's a really fun place and they said they also host events there sometimes too so I would love to go back for that. read more

Food is a little pricy but with the rest of the experience being free of charge it's understandable. When we got there we were informed the menu had changed dramatically about a year ago and they had troubles getting it updated. The menu now is very kid friendly. We did not stay to eat nor wander around the store/restaurant. The menu is not what we were looking for. We will go back to look around and see all of the turtles, snakes, fish, sharks and more. This place is incredible. It's so much fun to walk in. The set up is clean and the aisles are clear. It was very easy to navigate with my stroller, from the entrance to the aisles to the raised platform to the bathroom. I was worried there would be a pet store smell and there wasn't. It was neutral until the kitchen started going and then the smells were delicious! I don't think you could order anything bad. I enjoyed mine (Egyptian honey cinnamon chicken) but I liked my mom's more (jalapeño chicken salad). The chef was there to answer all questions so they do a great job answering dietary questions. I have to eat gluten free dairy free and there was plenty on the menu. The citrus with the chicken was very fresh and sweet, the perfect compliment to a savory tiny bit spicy chicken salad. As a former employee who misted all the reptiles' terrariums and cleaned the fishs' aquariums, the people, reptiles, café, and service are all exceptional! The lighting was nice and calm not only for the reptiles, but for me as well, I especially loved the snakes as I have had a pet one for 16 years and counting, and the fishies are adorable, too! However, while I worked there, the café was undergoing renovations, but they had a wonderful gentleman managing it by the name of Steven, so I'm sure they'll be open by now to provide you with some yummy food, light refreshments, and lovely conversations! Not only that, but I found some new bedding, a new tree for Ton (name of my pet snake) to climb on, and made him his very own dream terrarium combined with my manager at my previous job who had a terrarium he was fixing to throw out when I talked to him, but said he'd give it to me completely for free, so with all of those reptile home services combined, I made Ton his very own new terrarium! A must see place in Jacksonville, that I never knew about. The shop is super cute and they have a restaurant, which wasn't open when we went, but I'll be backs to try it soon. You walk through the store and they have different fish and reptiles, if you have kids take them as it's free. My son and I had a wonderful time stopping by Floating Sea Aquatics! He is obsessed with aquarium fish thanks to his grandfather and this was the perfect place to pop in and spend some time on a Saturday. We enjoyed looking at all of the fish and reptiles in the aquariums and ponds in addition to all the creatures they had for sale in their retail section. The staff was very welcoming and invited us to join in a free art class they were hosting. My son wasn't interested but it looked like many others were enjoying it. Overall the establishment was well lit and very inviting. We did not get any food from the cafe this time but hope to try some next time we go by for a visit. Great staff, very knowledgeable! I started my first tank and got some bad info from another store and things were not looking good. Kenny and Devon at FSA helped me save my fish. They were so patient and so kind, no judgement about what happened. They were truly concerned about the fish and saving them.
