The shop is lively with girl talk and good old school r&b music playing in the back. It gives old school beauty shop vibes which I love. I came in on a Tuesday, which is a discounted silk press day. I added a trim also. Shay had my hair pressed in under an hour and a half. I love how my hair came out and the ladies were an excellent time to be around. They offer you a free drink of choice with your appointment and even gel eye bags when at the bowl. I had about two drinks before leaving and was feeling nice! The shop is decorated so cute with pink bubble chair, a lip shaped couch and overall girlie aesthetic. If you need a place to get a blow out or silk press on the fly choose here.

The stylist (younger lady) assigned to do my hair did not say hello and simply asked me to follow her to the wash station. She did not ask any questions about my hair or explain what products she was using or what she was doing. After my hair was washed and conditioned, another stylist took over for the silk press. She was the same woman who had welcomed me at the front desk, and I was relieved because she actually spoke to me and asked a few questions about my hair. She began preparing my hair for the blow-dry, and I felt very comfortable with how she was handling it. Unfortunately, the original stylist came over and asked to take my hair back because she did not want to work on another customer's hair. I overheard that it may have been because the other customer's hair was too thick. In retrospect, that was my sign to ask to remain with the second stylist, but I decided to give the original stylist the benefit of the doubt. I noticed that the products she used were different from those the previous stylist had applied to the back section of my hair. I mentioned that the other stylist had used three or four products, which made me feel more comfortable because I was concerned about heat damage. She responded dismissively, saying, "I have my own products." It did not feel as though enough product had been applied, although I cannot be certain because I could not see exactly what she was doing. I explained that I was not trying to be difficult. I had recently taken down my locs, my hair was fragile, and I was worried about breakage and heat damage. She said okay and continued. She then attempted to dry about a quarter of my hair at once using a fine round brush instead of dividing it into smaller sections first. I grimaced, and she stopped, switched to a blow-dryer brush, and began working in smaller sections. I will acknowledge that she tried to be gentler after seeing my reaction. Unfortunately, the silk press and trim were very underwhelming. By the time I arrived home after a short 30-minute drive, my hair had already reverted. I had not been to a traditional salon in more than 15 years, aside from visiting locticians, so this experience was especially disappointing. Needless to say, I will not be returning and would not recommend this salon. I believe I would have had a much better experience if I had asked to continue with the second stylist.

Okay y'all... I finally decided to trim my hair after so much hesitation (I'm such a…read morespur-of-the-moment kind of lady). I have to share how incredibly lucky I got when I called J. Dall Hair Salon, conveniently located just 10 minutes from me--and how blown away I was from the very first phone call to the final result. From the moment Nikki answered the phone, I felt instantly welcomed. Her energy is warm, sweet, and genuinely uplifting. She was able to find me a spot later that same day with Gaby (lucky!), and when I mentioned I could come in sooner if there was a cancellation... lo and behold, I got the call. I grabbed my things and rushed over even more excited. As if that wasn't enough, I opened the door and was greeted by Bear. Nikki and Justin's adorable dog (the owners). OMG, you guys... those eyes instantly melted me. I wanted to pet him the entire time. The salon itself is a total gem- clean, beautifully designed, and spacious with a cozy boutique feel. They carry an impressive selection of professional and luxury hair products, from Oribe to Goldwell to Kenra, so you're covered no matter your hair needs. There's also handicap access and plenty of parking, which is always a plus. Once I sat in the chair and met Gaby, I immediately felt like a longtime client. That kind of connection makes all the difference and gives you total confidence that you'll leave happy and I absolutely did. My results went beyond expectations: my hair felt healthy, incredibly soft, and so shiny. A quick note: not everyone gets this lucky, so they do recommend booking in advance since appointments fill up fast (I already booked my next one). Prices are very reasonable, too. I can't wait to go back for my root touch-up. You guys are the best :) Go pay them a visit, and don't forget to say hi to "Bear"!You won't be disappointed.

If you're looking for someone who listens, executes, and leaves you feeling confident and refreshed, she's your girl.

I get it, you get what you pay for but I've been to plenty of affordable salons that provided professional service and some sense of cleanliness. I went in thinking the stylist would be able to do a hair tone service but she gave me a haircut instead. I didn't go in for a haircut originally but she kept insisting that she wanted to just trim the ends. I finally gave in thinking the sooner she cut my hair the sooner she would tone my hair but she proceeded to style it instead. I asked her several times if she was going to tone my hair and she kept saying my color looked nice. If she couldn't do the service I wanted she could have told me on the phone when I called instead of wasting my time and trying to upsell me other services.

I am very upset with this place. This is my second time going here. First time was last year and I…read moreasked the hairstylist to trim about a couple inches off and she did just that. And I was happy with it. I rarely get a haircut. I only go in for a hair trim because I like long hair and I go I probably once a year. This time around there was a different hairstylist. I believe her name was Rose or Rosy. I told her I wanted to trim maybe 5-6inches. She shows the amount of hair that is and looks about right. She asked if I wanted layers and I said thats fine. Just a little. I don't like layers but thought a little bit of it wouldn't hurt. She then started making conversation with me. The next thing I know I saw a bunch long strains of hair on the group and as she was trimming and cutting I saw how short my hair was. I was terrified. I told her that my hair was way too short. At some point I told her to stop fixing it. She still try to fix it by trimming and cutting some more. She wanted to style my hair and said I would look younger with this hairstyle. I never ask her to look younger or style my hair. I just want a simple cut 5-6inches off. She didn't do that and I believed she chopped off almost 15 inches from my hair. I was upset. When I went up front to pay, the guy at the front desk probably the owner heard my concerning voice about my hair and asked "is everything okay". I said no it's not. My hair is too short. He responded "well I hope it grow fast" I could have just walk out and not pay but I didn't. I paid and still tip 10% because I just can't see myself not paying. I'm still upset at how much I lost my hair and the unprofessionalism this place is. I understand that an Asian salon doesn't always give good experience and I would rather them be rude to me than chop off my hair that I can't get back. I contemplated about writing this review thinking that it wouldn't bring back my hair but I decided that someone need to see this and be careful next time you're getting your hair cut here. If you see the picture below, my hair was chopped off more than 6inches
