Today I went to Ashley for a wash and palm roll. She used a razor to make my part cutting into my loc. I also had a loc missing with only a strand of hair left. I'm so upset and hurt. Why Me Ashley??? If you did not know what your doing then say so. There is no excuse for what you did to my hair. And it's PEOPLE (Locticians) like YOU who give the industry a bad rap. Sit down and learn the game. I can't believe you did this to my hair. May KARMA FIND YOU!!! I would like to say, that I also found Ashley very nice and great conversation. However, that does not excuse what she did to my Locs, and I have absolutely No Reason to lie on this young lady. It was my first time ever meeting her, and I trusted Ashley to do the right thing. PICS DON'T LIE. My prayer is what happened to me Should Never Happen to Anyone PERIOD!!!! We (black women) should be able to go to a licensed cosmetologist and not worry about the individual doing something that would either damage or present a set-back for our beautiful CROWNS. I had aingeel z Wow she is the best natural hair stylist I've been too. Very professional, took the time to ask about my hair , touch my hair, asked what I wanted done. I went there for a trim. No rush very relaxing environment. She explained every step ask if I had any questions. The detangling felt wonderful no pulling . She was very gentle with my 4c hair. After she did a hot oil treatment an blow dry my hair to trim (she asked if it was ok to use blow dryer) then ask me to show her how much or little I wanted to cut. I let her do her thing. She made me feel very comfortable and I had no problem asking her question about how to take care of my hair. I will be going back to her for my hair care . I had my hair done by Rae. I have very kinky hair, that is relatively thick. I know my hair is tough. Therefore, Rae did a good job styling my hair, and providing me with a smooth look/ However, I did have some issues with some of the things she did and her service that day. Yet, I'll start with the positives. 1. I was able to get a versatile natural style that I was able to maintain for a week. 2. My hair was moisturized, and remained that way without assistance for at least two days, which is saying a lot for my hair. The Not so positives... 1. It seems she was slightly agitated, I remember another customer asking her if she was okay because she seemed agitated. At times I felt she was short with me while she was doing my hair so I tried not to talk too much. 2. She was running about 40 minutes behind for my appointment, but did not apologize to me once I go to her chair. Rather berated me for not taking down my braids (chunky plaits) while I waited. 3. When she started to comb out my hair for the wash, she started from the center of my head and combed down. This was probably my biggest issue, because she was literal raking my hair at that point; which is a NO NO!!! (this was the only questionable thing she did as a hairdresser though). She was overall rough with my head, and my scalp was sensitive even the day after, and I am not tender headed so she was truly rough. 4. This relates to her being rough, but she had a large clump of my hair to toss after washing, she then had significant amount after blow drying, she then trimmed my hair (she never showed me how much she cut off). My afro was noticeable smaller once I took down the style, so I wasn't too happy about that because it confirmed what I already knew. 4. I actually scheduled an appointment more as a consultation on advice about my hair, but got very limited advice. She just told me to use castor oil and conditioners (I have and use all those things already), and didnt really listen to me when I was explaining to her I sweat in my head at night, and thus often salt builds up on my scalp and the sweat pushes out the product I put in, so did she have any advice on sweat resistant products or what I could do as a nightly routine. Side note if anyone reading this comment has any advice, please let me know. I left Rae with a decent tip because she did put in considerable work to style my hair. However, as I was a new customer she could of did a lot better in the customer service department, as the main reason why I came in was to have my hair done in a simple style and get hair advice. read more

Aingeel-Z is AMAZING. I had been serviced for a few months by a great loctitian, my hair always looked wonderful, but it took her five or six hours to complete the work. Thus Aingeel-Z had my immediate attention when she said she would be done in two hours. I couldn't believe it. When I showed up, after she beautifully allowed me to come several hours earlier than my scheduled appointment due to the waiting list option with StyleSeat, I walked in at ten a.m. and was walking out of the salon at twelve thirty on the nose. I was incredulous!!! I had not been seen by a loctitian for at least three months, and my new growth was out of control. None of this stopped Aingeel-Z for one minute. She separated my locs gently and ably; massaged my hair gorgeously when she washed it; was very, very attentive both times that I was under the dryer; and consulted me before she took any action with my hair. I felt treated as a very special client because she exuded professionalism and ability, yet consulted me before every step. And when she was done, I looked as though I had just stepped out of a bandbox as my grandmother would say. I recommend Aingeel-Z wholeheartedly and without reserve. She is AMAZING. My experience? Sani is an AMAZING hairstylist with over 15 years of experience in hair. She is very knowledgeable in natural hair and what it takes to have your hair healthy and strong. She is very creative with hairstyles as she can freestyle just about any hairstyle. She is also a visual stylist where you can show her a picture and she can bring your hairstyle to life leaving you feeling confident when you step out of the shop. She prides herself on integrity and communication with her client so please be frank and upfront about your expectations so that Sani can help you attain them. Before she started on my Goddess Locs, Sani gave me a deep steam conditioned treatment (first time customers get this for free, typically an add on service), I'd definitely say I could feel the pores in my scalp open up and receive the moisture from the conditioner. I was SOLD after this treatment it's a must-have at least once a month. Then she began on my locs, the perimeter were braided as individuals and inner/middle were crochet goddess locs. It took about 6 hrs (with one break). I was so happy with the finished product and it was even better than what I pictured. I'm looking forward to my next visit with Sani. So let me just start by saying this was by far the worse and I mean the absolute worse salon experience I've ever had ! I got my hair done by KAI and my appointment was at 10am , she was about 30 mins late . I let her know I wanted a partial sew in and I brought the hair as well as a needle , I let her know exactly how I wanted my hair , while she was doing my hair this should have been my first RED FLAG because she used a lighter to burn off the fake hair used to braid my hair up to sew on the tracks , when she was all finished , within a day my tracks starting to slip , they were not on there secure or even slightly tight enough , she did NOT do anything I asked her to do . I will never go to her again for another hairstyle NO matter what it is . I will attach pictures so you guys can see how she did my hair! She's very unprofessional . Aingeel Z is great. She's been doing my several months now. I can't believe there aren't more established natural hair care salons in LA, so I drive to Long Beach. My hair always feels soft after she does it and she recently highlighted my hair, which adds a bit of life to my hair. Scheduling with her is super easy. I just go online and select my service. I know exactly how much it's going to be and how long the services will take. I especially love the fact that she doesn't stack her clients to keep them waiting. I've been to this salon twice and I must say I doubt I'll return. The first time I went a few months ago for 2 french braids. They looked beautiful! However they weren't braided tight enough and my hair started poking through the next day. I gave that appointment a 3 star rating. However, this past Thursday was the worse. The new braider had no supplies and tried to braid my hair completely dry. No jam, edge control, nothing. I sat down and she just grabbed my hair without even parting it and started braiding. I was so confused. She tried for 2 hours to properly braid my 2 french braids. I even had to pay for the toothbrush for her to use to try and lay down my hair. My braids looked awful. I went there because my braids were only okay and I wanted them to be fresher. My own braids were better than hers. I told her I disliked them but still paid simply because she was a nice person. I took the braids down immediately and did my hair myself. I was so upset I wasted so much time. I can't even believe she knew how to braid given how bad the braids were. I washed, hot oil treatment and deep conditioned and blow dried my hair for her. The fact that she couldn't even do 2 simple braids was crazy! read more
