From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly and felt welcomed. The spa had a peaceful, calming atmosphere that immediately helped me relax. Before the treatment started, we did a hair and scalp analysis, which I found really informative. The specialist showed me the condition of my scalp, explained what she observed, and discussed what my hair might be lacking and ways to improve its health. Afterward, I was taken to a private room and provided with a robe. The treatment began with a hair wash and the specialized water therapy used during head spa treatments. I wasn't entirely sure what to expect since it was my first time, but the experience was incredibly soothing. I also received a massage on my head, neck, and arms, which made the treatment even more relaxing. I left feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and like I had finally taken some time for myself. My hair felt noticeably softer and healthier afterward as well. My only suggestion would be that I wish the water therapy portion lasted a little longer because it was one of my favorite parts of the experience. I've had quite a few massages in the past, but they all seemed to be missing something; after my first massage with Emily, I felt a deep level of peace and groundedness that I had been yearning for after all of those past massages but never could find. First, Emily herself radiates a powerful energy of peace, warmth, and compassion. You feel that she genuinely cares about you and your wellness, and wants to understand you and what you want for yourself. She is very patient, and very kind. She is also very communicative and quick to respond to a question or request you may have, and is also very accommodating if you need to reschedule. Second, she gives wonderful massages. They are the right amount of pressure--firm but not crushing, but not too gentle that you don't feel any release in your muscles. The atmosphere was friendly and bright, although I like my spas to be a little bit darker and more serene. I was a bit nervous about the whole procedure but Kelly (I'm pretty sure that was her name!) was super nice and friendly! I was taken to a room where I had to seriously take off everything and wait for her all while being covered with two lil towels(eeek!). This being naked in front of a stranger thing is much easier after a long night of binge drinking... but I won't get started on that. Anyhow! She exfoliated my whole body with some sort of salt scrub, it really felt amazing. Afterwards I put my robe on and went into an other room where I jumped in a spaceship pod thing! She then put a seaweed mud wrap all over me and closed the pod. This thing was so rad.. it would vibrate and the temperature went up to 118 degrees! I stayed in there for 30 minutes. It was so relaxing I was very close to falling asleep a couple of times... but I was a lil worried that maybe I was actually fainting not sleeping because of the heat ha! Anyhow, this is an amazing way to detox after a week long drinking binge! I ended up sweating all the vodka away! I then took a quick shower to get all sparkly clean and this was followed with some body oil that she massaged on me. The whole experience was very different and fun! I want to try to come back again... this is a good way to shed that extra water weight some of us might be holding on to. I followed this up with hot yoga, what an amazing detoxifying routine!
