We love stopping here for lunch on our way to Oregon. This is our second time coming here, the last time was a year ago. The food is great and healthy. A better choice than stopping for fast food. And it's also a nice break from driving. She always talks my boyfriend into getting the wrap. He got the same order last time, the tofu wrap. Service is great and what an interesting place. It's a restaurant/health food/gift shop all in one. Lots of plants and pathos and wool socks for sale hanging from the ceiling. We came on a Thursday and there was live music. read more

Great food made with love and compassion. Cute store with fun gifts and organic offerings. The quiche was perfect (I'd love to know how they make their crust crispy on the bottom!!), the sandwiches were great (and my husband says the bread was made that day), and I love the plant life that has found its way throughout the restaurant! Cafe side of the business is closing and the Natural products store is still open for, gifts, supplements, natural and organic items. We're going to miss their homemade meals. What do you even say about a place that is so special and delicious tucked away in the middle of a small town? I don't know except that you need to stop reading this and go get yourself a table! It was my first time in Yreka and I was there for a week. After scanning some yelp reviews, I stumbled upon this place. I walked in and was welcomed with such warmth that I knew I had hit the jackpot. So much so, I spent every single lunch at Nature's Kitchen. The owners, Flannery and Patty (and a special shout out to Cliff) are absolutely exceptional human beings. They are so kind, so lovely, and just radiate love. The food is delicious - HIGHLY RECOMMEND the bacon jalapeno quiche - and everything is homemade, even the dressings! My favorite combo of the week was the bacon jalapeno quiche, a side salad with their homemade balsamic, some chips, and a chocolate chip cookie! To say I was sad to leave Yreka because I would miss out on the best welcoming committee to date, is an understatement. But I am so happy that a place like this exists to warm the heart and feed the belly. Thank you Flannery & crew, I miss you so! read more

70s funky/hippy in a good way, realizing of course that this description might not appeal to all. Part natural food store and restaurant it was founded in 1979. Flannery, who owns the eatery with her husband steers the kitchen, dresses in the bright colors of that era and is very welcoming at the tables. Homemade quiche, chili, sandwiches, salads are on the menu and all are made with fresh ingredients. Flannery told us the tasty bread and buns are made daily by an 85-year-old *retired* baker friend. The servings are not huge, which we found refreshing. We also liked the fact that the walls and ceiling are decked out in off-beat art. Something lively to look at! We stopped and ate here on our way to Ashland and on our way back to the Bay Area. This is not Denny's, Black Bear Diner or fast food. They all have their places off Interstate 5 in the food desert of tip-top NorCal, Mt. Shasta and the Oregon-Cali border. We'll always make time to break away from the usual places and eat here. read more

What's not to love? My family and I came here for breakfast and got more than we bargained for (in the best of ways!) We brought our dog with us and scored a beautifully shaded outdoor spot while we sipped on delicious coffee. The staff lovingly helped us out with menu items and brought our big guy some chicken. The food itself was artfully made and tasted superb. We each got a quiche with a side salad and our kiddo scored the PBJ combo. I know it's easy to call vegan/vegetarian food "rabbit" food, etc. but MAN, we ate so good. Not one belly left this place hungry and there's a nifty little shopette inside the restaurant too. I was driving home from Portland, and found Nature's Kitchen in a listing of places to stop off the 5. WOW!! The delicious, quality food, sweet ladies working here, and quaint, small-town atmosphere were exactly the rejuvenating break from driving that I needed. The server was very warm and friendly, like the grandparent of a close friend. The food was cooked and seasoned to perfection, allowing the ingredients' flavors to remain prominent. There was a musician playing rock songs from the 70s to 90s on an acoustic guitar that drowned out conversations from the other tables and enhanced the atmosphere. This will be a regular stop whenever I'm passing Yreka. read more

Fantastic place for vegetarians and vegans!! The food was delicious and the owner served us personally. Highly recommend the tofu wrap, PB&J and tuna melt. I don't have a high tolerance for spices but the owner recommended the jalapeño jelly and I'm so glad she did, it was DELICIOUS with the tuna! The shop also has fantastic socks for sale and a selection of gifts and groceries. It was so nice we stopped on our way down AND back. Super highly recommend. read more

This was a quaint find on our way up to Washington. It's a family owned business; the staff is great, very personable & friendly. Lots of hanging plants, both real & fake mix together giving the ambience of being in a forest, but then there's socks hanging down, not sure what that was. Onto the food - I had a small Caesar salad with chicken & the kid had the portobello sammie. The salad was okay, the chicken was inconsistent, literally some pieces tasted differently than others, not sure what or how exactly to put it, but it was off. It came with fresh bread or chips, had the fresh bread & llwished I'd gone for the chips. The kid had the portobello sammie, her only complaint was that it was so messy & kept sliding every which way on her, lacking a little flavor, when asked for a description I got "meh." She also ordered a smoothie, okay, a bit overwhelmed by the under ripe banana that was added. You have those days that maybe you just picked wrong, this could be that. I would try again & order something completely different just to see if maybe it was just an off day for the cook &/or my taste buds. What a treat. Just passing through on I5 and stopped in for breakfast and what a good decision that was. Everything made fresh in house, notably the quiche & hot soup, which were just the right thing on a brisk November morning. I wish we had more time to enjoy the cafe as the charm was quite captivating. As we walked in, a man in the kitchen offered a welcoming smile. Fun decor hung about the establishment, very homey and comfortable. The host seemed to know all the patrons by name, even was working on a crossword puzzle with one of them. Very quintessential small town cafe. Like I said the charm of the place was captivating. The host was as friendly as they come, brought us (great) hot coffees right away and then the quiche shortly after. The quiche was outstanding. Fluffy and full of flavor. It might just be hot coffee and a slice of quiche but it was the best breakfast I've had on the road. I used to come here when I had doctor appointments. I have a psychiatric service animal, and showed all the necessary things to have my PSA with me . The wife told me I can sit inside with a nice eye roll, and seemed uncomfortable, so I offered to sit outside Went outside there was no chairs, and a Gardner blowing leaves and dirt everywhere . So I moved inside. Then was refused service from her husband for no apparent reason and called me a "nervous person " after the wife said I can sit inside OR outside . Then when I went to acknowledge her and clear up the miscommunication she refused to look at me and walked away. The VERY elderly husband/owner looked at me, pointed in my face and said "I HAVE the FINAL SAY" Then proceeded to tell me they call the cops to come when I was trying to explain the situation in a very calm manner . No one should ever be treated like this, especially someone with a service animal. I loved supporting small businesses, I've been here a handful of times. (A server for 15years )Their quiche is $15 for a SLICE , however still knowing that.. I come to support small business and the elderly but after today I'll never come back nor recommend to anyone . A warm, eclectic and comforting restaurant with fantastic wholesome foods. We stopped in for breakfast and had the quiche, avocado toast, cinnamon roll and lemon ginger scone (pictured). The food was fantastic, a very creamy and rich quiche, a hearty and not overly sweet cinnamon roll, and one of the best scones I've ever had. Portions were very much right sized, leaving us very full and satisfied without stuffing our faces or wanting more. I highly recommend stopping for anyone anywhere near Yreka! read more

The shear variety of healthy and holistic products and ingredients is worth mentioning. I found 11 types of mineral salts, every single culinary spice I could recall, a wall of homeopathic ingredients for even your most obscure homeopathic remedy and SO MUCH MORE! Michael was extremely knowledgeable and made it a pleasure to browse (no pressure). Michael even took the time to show me some truly unique finds in the spice blend section *wow, just wow* I highly recommend stopping in to grab the perfect latte (comes with 2 shots - and no stomach upset) during your next road trip (they have almond milk for $0.50 more)! Stopped by here on our way from Portland back to California. Super friendly people. The jalapeño, bacon quiche and the tomato bisque soup were super fresh and yummy. They have little tables out front where you can sit with your dog. They gave our dog some pieces of chicken which she loved. Took a ginger scone to go. It was delicious! A diamond in the rough. This little eatery is conjoined to the natural foods grocery shop, so it has the wonderful herby smell we all know from such a place. The decor is local arts and crafts, a bit zany but warm and colorful. And the reason I'm writing this review is the food! Oh my goodness- fresh baked bread for the sandwiches, delicious greens, ripe avocados. We had a portobello sandwich and it was perfect. We also had a tofu wrap which was so excellent. We had a group of six for lunch today. We each ordered something different and all of the food was delicious! The bread and buns were made in house. Soup, salad, quiche, tomato bisque, sandwiches were all top rate. The woman serving us was gracious and kind. The shop connected to the restaurant had wonderful items to choose from such as organic foods and supplements, beautifully handmade children's sweaters and many unusual nice gift items.
