She made sure our check-in was smooth & got us to our room quickly & without hassle. Her professionalism & kindness really stood out. The hotel itself was very clean, & all of the staff--including the housekeeping team--were friendly & helpful throughout our stay. The room was immaculate, & I felt comfortable & well taken care of. My only real issue was the lack of microwaves in the rooms. It was inconvenient having to go downstairs & wait in line just to heat up food. That's definitely something the hotel should reconsider. Also, I noticed Carlin often seemed to be managing the front desk alone--even during busy periods. I'm not sure why she doesn't have more staff support, but she handled everything with patience & grace, even when there were 10-15 people waiting. She deserves recognition & backup. I did notice the hotel seems to attract a mixed crowd, possibly due to the price point, but that shouldn't reflect on the hotel itself. As long as you're there to rest & relax, the experience is more than sufficient. Overall, I'd absolutely stay here again. I'm not sure why this hotel has low ratings--my experience was excellent. Unfortunately, the rest of our stay was pretty frustrating. For starters, watch out for the parking. I was under the impression that parking in the adjacent garage was complimentary for guests, but I only found out after checking out that they charge $15 a day. To make matters worse, the elevator inside the garage was out of service, with an old sign posted that looked like it had been sitting there for months. As a Marriott Gold Elite member, I booked our room through the Bonvoy app and attempted to check in beforehand, but the system wouldn't let us. I also requested a mobile key, but those weren't available either because the hotel was apparently in the middle of a system upgrade. When we arrived, our reservation had somehow assigned us an accessible room, which temporarily locked us out of the other available options. Thankfully, the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful in getting the reservation sorted out. The lobby itself was clean and well-kept. Once we got up to our room on the ninth floor, things went downhill. The room had a terrible, musty smell. It clearly used to be a room where smokers stayed--that heavy tobacco stench had completely saturated the carpet and walls, and no amount of cleaning spray could hide it. The windows were filthy, and the entry door looked like someone had previously tried to pry it open with a crowbar. The worst part of the night was the air conditioner. It's an ancient unit that rattled and sounded like a diesel truck engine every time it kicked on. Between the smell and the noise, it kept us up for most of the night. It's a great location, but given the state of the room and the garage situation, I wouldn't stay here again.

The rooms smell some have rodent friends to share your room with or insect friends to share your room with. Some rooms don't even have a phone in them. Some that do the phones don't work. The entrance and exit door (on left) on the front side of the left buibuildindosnt always open it sticks horribly. Fire hazard. Your room key card will have to be brought to front desk multiple times to be relinked to use to get in building and your room. Sometimes you get in building but the card key to open your room door....sorry not today ... back to office u go.i could counties point out the vary obvious things in the motel that are ummm don't even know what words to use for this. They have no concern with your health well being safety or comfortability when you stay here at "South Main". Try to get a second floor room in either building as not all windows lock and or stay locked or able to be opened from outside...mind you now your sleeping and creepy Craig is in your room standing over you watching you while you sleep. The current owner has been in the business for about 30 years and everything you'd want in a B&B is here. The rooms are spacious with comfortable beds. The breakfast was delicious with bacon, pancakes, poached pears, juice, and coffee or tea. Susan was very accommodating and waited up for our late arrival after the Thanksgiving meal (around 11pm). Good wi-Fi, flat screen tv, and a refreshment center on the 2nd floor. When in the area we would certainly stay here again.

They did have some new things this year like a warrior course and extra bounce houses but it used to have horses I'm sad that those are gone. The bathrooms are in desperate need of updates the toilets are really crooked in all of the stalls there are notices to use paper towels on the walls yet they don't have paper towel holders. The donuts and muffins for breakfast we're not very good. The taco bar was delicious we got burgers hot dogs and a small buffet of chicken corn and coleslaw and potato salad they still have the ice cream truck where you can get unlimited ice cream and cotton candy and popcorn which are my favorite parts of Holiday Hill they have paddle boats and kayaks two pools those changing rooms need to be updated as well. There's a bunch of abandoned buildings on property that I believe used to have something to do with a camp. They have a lot of sport activities like ping Pong volleyball basketball tennis and mini golf. One of the mini golf holes is clogged and doesn't let the ball go through into the other spot like it's supposed to. It's nice for an outing but it definitely needs a lot of updates.
