Worst diner I've ever been to. Food was bad, the bun on my burger was dry and stale. I had hardly any fries on my plate. We had to remind the waitress of what our food was supposed to come with because half of it didn't come out. Our waitress was RUDE and on COCAINE. Did I get fat or are the booths just small? My 3 friends and I were crammed into a booth along with our coats and purses so we ate with our elbows glued to our sides. I think I get more elbow room wedged into a middle seat in coach. Regardless, this place has big portions of good food at decent prices. Hash browns were cooked the way I like 'em...crispy on the outside, soft and potato-y on the inside. My friend had so much bacon that we couldn't eat it all. I was in Madison and decided to spot by for late breakfast with my daughter and her friend. The girls shared a breakfast special and I had one of my own. The waiter was nice at first but it went downhill after that. The food was mediocre at best, how do you mess up eggs? The tea was Lipton and was never offered a refill, waiter forgot creamer so I stole some from the waitress station after I got tired of waiting and stirred it with my knife as he forgot the spoon and the silverware. I don't think waiter knew what white bread was because he gave me rye and said it was white. He never came to check on us after food was delivered. I had to flag him down for our check. I would never come back to this diner, food was below average and service was non existent. read more

Maybe we came on an off day, but once we were seated it took 10 minutes for our server to come over and take our order. Once it was placed, another 15 just to get some water and coffee on the table. I ordered the eggs benedict which was BLAND. The english muffin was burnt, and the yolks of the poached eggs barely ran (my favorite part of a benedict). My homefries were flavorless as well. I hadn't been here in many years, but my trip the other day was fantastic. The service was excellent (so very unlike what I remembered). The food was really good and reasonably priced, especially for the portions they served. I had potato pancakes and applesauce. A little greasy, but quite yummy. Its amazing how restaurants are finding creative ways to nickle and dime patrons. This place charges a 3.75% fee on credit card usage. So only does the patron subsidize their underpaid staff with a tip that we leave now we subsidize their CC fees. Went on a Saturday morning, and has given a 'non-full' menu with 9 items on it.... and no description... i.e. an omelette but nothing about what was in it.... had to ask for a 'full menu'... that's weird. Got the full menu, with explanation of omelettes, had one with coffee both were below average. A large wad of bacon on the side was some of the worst bacon I'd had in a long time. It's an okay diner if you need something within walking distance. I've never had a meal here that I've really enjoyed, but it's better than nothing most of the time. The food is okay, and sometimes sloppily put-together. Nothing really sticks out flavour-wise, but if you're drunk or hungover it's pretty decent. I've had their panini sandwiches, which are done on pita bread so they're rather messy to eat as everything falls out when you pick it up. I live within walking distance but I tend not to bother venturing out to this place, but it's not the worst in the world. If you're hungry, it's good. read more

Been here many times and it's usually OK. Not this time. Waiter did not seem to want to wait on us. Almost everything about my order was wrong. Asked for honey with my tea, no honey came. We seemed to get handed over to a different waitress who brought it, no big deal if that was all that was wrong. But there was definitely a lack of attention on someone's part. Ordered a fried egg over medium, it came all runny and kind of gross. Asked for just one piece of toast, two pieces came. Asked for the toast to be toasted dark, one piece was barely toasted, the other was not toasted at all. It's not toast if it's not toasted. We should have stayed home. read more

We stumbled upon this diner when we were going to Stop and Shop to buy groceries for our Easter dinner. Knowing you should never shop when you're hungry, we decided to grab a late breakfast here. We had the friendliest food server, Lenny, who immediately made us feel like long-time customers. We ordered the two-egg breakfast with home fries and toast. We couldn't believe the price - $5.95. You can pay that much for a Starbucks coffee drink! The home fries were the tastiest - none of that raw potato taste you get at some restaurants. The coffee was fresh, and Lenny never let our cup get cold. Stayed piping hot with refills the entire time. Altogether, this place is a great find if you're looking for a delicious and inexpensive breakfast. The only suggestion I'd make is a greater selection of jam for the toast. read more

We just moved to the area and was looking for a local diner we can come to every weekend. We haven't been to a ton of diners, but we've been to enough (say, 6) around NJ to know what we like and what we don't like, what's eatable and what's not eatable. I always start with the basic, 2 eggs, home fries, and toast. Ugh ... the home fries were the most unpleasant I have ever tasted, and I thought I've had worse, until now. My husband order french toast, scrambled eggs, sausages, etc ... He had to send the french toast back because it was still raw in the middle. Suffice to say, we haven't quite found our favorite diner like we did in Westfield NJ, and we will not be returning to this establishment. read more

They didnt seem prepared for the brunch rush. The seating was way off they sat a party of seven who came in after us before us and gave us (5) some terribly awkward spot by the kitchen. My friends hated their coffee and said it tasted burnt. My sandwich was taylor ham and cheese sandwich was good but the pickle and side of potato salad weren't very good. Our waiter was okay he seemed under a lot of stress and busy which is understanding and isnt why I took stars off, I think they just have to do a better job organizing their seating and maybe put more effort in their coffee because that'll make or break my friends from wanting to come back. read more

I ordered a burger and fries and my friend ordered disco fries (fries toppled with gravy and melted cheese). My burger was good but there was a very small portion of fries on the side. My friend was given fries with melted cheese and not disco fries as she had ordered. It took 15 minutes for the server only to come out with a side dish of gravy (which is not what she had originally ordered). I decided to give this place another shot and ordered the pancakes that time but they tasted a little cardboard-y and were definitely not worth the money. This was my go-to diner for a lunch break from work. Standard diner fare, the breakfast sausage is particularly recommended. Service is good but the owner insists on keeping Fox News blaring. Keep it neutral - TV 12 is fine, and they used to have HGTV on one screen, and ESPN on the other. But no need to serve up propaganda with my home fries. Until the station changes, I'm driving the extra 10 minutes to Florham park. read more

Food is so subpar relative to its value/price. Everything on the menu is overpriced and most dishes are lackluster with regards to flavor and quality. Straight up grey yo! This was the absolute worst diner experience I have ever had. There was not only one, but two hairs in my food. I overheard from what it seemed to be the manager (i am not entirely sure his position, but he was wearing a button down and running back and forth from the kitchen to the front) and he was yelling at his waitstaff like they were dirt. I was at this place last night and I had breakfast for dinner. The french toast was decent. I expected the sausage to be jimmy dean or some sort of packaged product. I was given two plump sausage links with crispy skin. I was surprised at how good the sausage was. I usually order the home fries, but I always ask for them well done because if I don't they are a little soggy. Their soups are generally a safe choice, all usually very good. My usual order here is taylor ham on a roll and a side of disco fries. Can't ever go wrong with the disco fries. This diner is certainly passable, but nothing about it except for the slightly-too-high prices stands out as amazing, and people often feel a little ill after eating here, which has earned it the nickname "the nauseous" over the years. I've never really had a bad meal here. Well, sometimes the onion rings fall apart. Other than that, it's a good diner--not a great one, but perfectly good for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Service is blindingly fast even at the busiest times. It's surprisingly fun for a late night dessert run, and the baklava is tasty. Most of the desserts are made in-house. read more
