Amazing experience! I was visiting with my son and his wife in Madison and was lucky enough to stumbled upon this quaint establishment. We were warmly greeted by Walter at the counter. He was more than willing to help us work our way through the menu. My request was to split a large salad with my wife. Walter had the salad split between two plates for us with a side of delicious fresh rolls. My son ordered the Cuban sandwich with a side of potato salad and my daughter-in-law had the homemade chicken pot pie. All of the food was well prepared and presented beautifully. Everything was super fresh and made to order. The decor was very warm with a home-like feeling. Walter was a wonderful host and made our first experience delightful. This is one of those small, independent restaurants that is worth adding to my favorite bistro list. One of my favorites in Madison! The guys working here are so friendly and helpful and I enjoy every interaction! They use high quality ingredients and I love their take on many classics. It's always a higher quality, healthier, yet more delicious version. They regularly update their specials menu so get your favorites when they're available! There are many sandwiches that I really enjoyed when they were specials so now I have to just keep a lookout for when they come back. Regrettably I did not know at the time that the specials menu changes so I never wrote them down! One of my favorite things to get here is the chicken tenders. They are juicy, tender, with a light breading that offers the perfect crisp. And I love their honey mustard, it is very simple and very delicious. The menu had killer options, we really couldn't resist, especially after the tumultuous 2020. We ordered hummus, Swedish meatballs, brisket sliders, and brie + apricot in phyllo dough. All four options were beyond delicious - perfect in every way. They gave us plenty of extra rolls so we could have leftovers. So happy we did this and can't wait to order from a special menu again! The turkey provolone pesto panini was amazing, thin and crispy with good amount of sauce just how I enjoyed it. Had a couple of roast beef variations and they all enjoyed it, soft and tasty. I ordered a Chicken sandwich and as an after thought order a cup of tomato soup. The sandwich was very good and fresh, but the tomato soup stole the show. Had to go back the next day for a bowl. Found this great place right here on Yelp! Was looking for a an excellent caterer for my business accounts and WOW is this place on point! The owner, Tushar, was wonderful on the phone with helping me figure out what would be the best fit for that particular event. It's been over 8 months since I've used the catering on a weekly basis and the food is always fresh, on time delivery, and unique for each event! I also bring some of my clients to lunch here. Anytime I know I'm heading over I just give the owner a call/text and he quickly responds and saves me the best spot (in my opinion) in the house. The cozy window seat with an awesome view! Based on the almost 5 star review and the fact that my rescue Pitbull was named after Harvest Farm to Table Restaurant in Connecticut I had to give it a try. Harvest Bistro exceeded my expectations. Chef Walter and the staff were friendly and welcoming and the food was outstanding. We had the broccoli and cheddar quiche, Turkey and Quinoa salad and eggplant sandwich on a baguette. Tushar and his cozy place on Main Street have been a family favorite for literally 20 years. My parents had a routine where they went there every day for coffee and were welcomed and embraced. They hosted their 55th wedding anniversary for we kids at what was then called On A Roll. Now, Harvest Bistro has become the spot where I take my 91-year-old mom for a bowl of soup on weekends. She has dementia and does not remember anyone but is no less warmly welcomed. Tushar's crew, especially Walter, are amazing!! I discovered this gem when they came to the The Max of Madison food/nutrition seminar. I've been meaning to order takeout, and when I finally had a chance to, it was in between teaching the evening classes at The Max Challenge across the street. I stopped in there to place an order to pick up on the way home. I didn't realize they have hours in the day where they aren't open to public (my mistake), but the girls working the cashier was super graceful about it. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HARVEST BISTRO FOR CATERING or for a meal in beautiful downtown Madison, NJ My husband and I had a small private wedding so decided to host our first wedding anniversary party at our house for friends. We had never used a caterer, so I ask a friend for names. Harvest Bistro was one, so we went to dinner one evening to try it out. The food at dinner was so delicious, we decided not to try any other caterers! Thanks to Tushar, the owner, we couldn't have asked for a better experience in every way. Within two days after we had dinner, Tushar came to our house to discuss the menu and review the layout. Three weeks before the party he came over again to help finalize specifics. Tushar and two servers from Harvest Bistro arrived at our house one hour before the party started and worked non-stop for four hours. He was personally involved in making and plating the food and ensuring everything went smoothly the entire time. Everything was amazing...the food, the presentation, the servers. They handled everything from setting up to leaving our kitchen spotless! Guests remarked that the variety, quality, and presentation of the food were all over the top. Our menu included starters of cheese and light appetizer stations followed by a wide variety of delicious hot appetizers, all cooked to perfection and hand served to over 60 guests. When they left, our kitchen was cleaner than when they arrived! My husband and I were delighted there were a few leftovers, which he also put away for us. Guests are still raving about the food! I can worry and be an overthinker, but he reassured me he would take care of everything and that we just needed to enjoy our anniversary party and that's exactly what we did thanks to Harvest Bistro and Tushar!
