Tubular IPA 7.2%ABV - Orono Brewing, Co., Orono, ME ($9)

Thrill of the Grill Casual oceanfront dining spot located in picturesque Belfast Ha'bor that features lots of local seafood favorites like Lobstah Rolls, Clam Chowdah, and other pescatarian favorites. They underwent an ownership change (ca. 2012) at the beginning of 2024, but it's still locally-owned and operated. The Good: *Outdoor dog-friendly seating right on the water *Happy Hour daily from 3 p.m. - 5 p.m. (dine-in only) *Live music *Local craft brews on-tap *Clam Chowdah was fantastic and had plenty of the namesake clams and just the right amount of taters to balance it out. *Scallop Special was cooked well and had nice flavor. The Meh: *Brown Bread Pudding was good but we felt like it was missing that strong quinquintessential brown bread molasses flavor. The Ugly: *Server was nice enough but overwhelmed and a bit absent-minded. However, to be fair, he was overworked, as he was taking care of most of the restaurant by himself. He definitely needed at least one more server to help him out. Conclusion: Yummy pescatarian eats in a great ooceanfront location.

A great lunch experience today at Nautilus Seafood & Grill in Belfast, ME. My wife ordered the Lazy Lobster dish, I went with a Haddock Reuben sandwich. We shared a Fresh Baked Cornbread appetizer to start off. Everything "Hit the Spot". My wife loved her lobster, was tender and the perfect portion size. She thought my Haddock Reuben was an odd combination, but trust me, it was one tasty sandwich. The Russian dressing complemented the fish well. Cornbread was fresh, as advertised, and we both enjoyed it. Service was also stellar today at the Nautilus. We ate on the outside patio this afternoon because the weather was outstanding. This place is a Winner, an Easy 5 Star rating.

Nautilus Seafood & Grill in Maine is a fantastic spot! Amazing food, a quaint and charming atmosphere, and right on the harbor. it's such a lovely place to enjoy a relaxed lunch. The fresh seafood and welcoming vibe make it a must-visit when you're in the area!

Thanks! Here's the updated review with your note included: --- **Review:** Nautilus Seafood and Grill is a fantastic waterfront spot that offers both indoor and outdoor dining with beautiful views. There's on-site parking, though it can fill up quickly--but there's also plenty of public parking just a short walk away. The seafood was excellent, and they also offer steak options for those who prefer something different. The New England clam chowder really stood out--hands down the best in the area. It's rich, creamy, and filled with clams (no fish or shrimp like some other places serve). Our server was friendly, and the food came out quickly without feeling rushed. All in all, a great place for a relaxed, delicious meal by the water.

We came here at the suggestion of the lady at the front desk of The Belfast Inn. They seemed to be on limited staff & therefore super busy. We wanted to sit at the bar, which is small, but it was full. There was one stool but the folks sitting there went out of their way to make room for us & give us another stool! So nice, wow!!! We sooooo appreciated meeting such genuinely kind people that we bought them a round! Cheers :) The bartender, Kelly??? I think, was great. We got some wine, clam chowdah lol & steamed mussels in a garlic white wine broth! All of it was excellent & delicious. The bartender was busy with a full bar & service bar drinks for the servers & our food came out before she had a chance to give is silverware or napkins so we asked as server (a petite young lady with long blonde hair). She brought us forks but when we asked about the napkins she said "no, I can't do that sorry" baaahahaha wth! I guess she realized how horrible that was because she came back with some napkins lol. I ordered a carrot cake to go & it was seriously one of the best I have ever had!!! Fun night & we would def eat here again. As always peeps, please support your local small biz! Cheers!!!

    Cornbread with honey butter

For someone who isn't a seafood expert and is expecting to be blown away by the seafood here, curb your expectations. I felt overall it was a slightly higher than average restaurant (3.5*). The menu was fun and they seemed to have quite a selection of interesting items that I wouldn't mind trying. I felt the service, menu options, and the very impressed friends who love seafood who joined me for the meal is what kicked this rating up to 4*. I was nervous the service would be slow after reading some of the other reviews but the service was great. We arrived and were told we'd have a 15 min wait and that was accurate. Our cornbread took a while to come out but our server was communicative with us about that and our entrees came out at the perfect amount of time. What we got: Cornbread (appetizer) with honey butter - 5* this was fantastic cornbread. It was fluffy but with substance and just plain delicious. I wish the honey butter had a little more honey but it paired well with the cornbread. It comes out in three pieces and I would've been fine splitting in three ways. We ended up ordering two to split between the four of us. Stuffed haddock - 3* I wasn't as impressed with this is as I thought I'd be but my partner who ordered it said it was 5*. Brussel sprouts salad with scallops - 4* adding the scallops on was pricey and I think chicken would've been really good as well. The brussel sprouts were fantastic and I thought the dressing was quite refreshing. I did end up using my friend's lemon to add a bit more flavor to the salad which enhanced it nicely. I am not a seafood expert so while I enjoyed the scallops I didn't feel like they were mind blowingly amazing. I've had frozen scallops that were just as good, but this sentiment is probably blasphemous to seafood lovers. These two meals were purchased by oour seafood loving friends and they both highly endorse them as options: Charboiled Atlantic salmon fillet & lobster mac & cheese.

Food: My first Maine lobster roll did not disappoint! Delicious. Service: kind staff Ambiance: The music made this millennial heart happy. We were about to walk the dock and enjoyed a nice view. If you have kids just be careful and keep a very close eye on them outside! Family friendly: 4/5

Shrimp appetizer not bad but would not get it again.

It was an acceptable restaurant. If you are on the area and need something to eat it was ok. The service was good. Friendly people and a nice view if you can get a spot on the outside but the food was lack luster and pricey for what you get. I would not go back unless it was for the view and service.

    Seafood Pie

The food here exceeded out expectations. My husband and I started with the bang bang shrimp. It was cooked perfectly. Then we got the baked haddock and seafood pie. Absolutely delicious! Will be back again!

BBQ pulled pork sandwich with side Caesar and coleslaw and a Marshall Wharf Below the Belt IPA

My wife and I were on a week long road trip along the coast of Maine and we checked into our hotel and did a Yelp search places to get dinner. Nautilus had good reviews and it had outside seating on the water. SOLD! It was about a 5 minute drive from our hotel. We were seated outside and I ordered an IPA to start off. The view of the water was very serene and I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw and a side Caesar salad. It came out pretty quickly and it looked wonderful. Pork piled high and the salad looked amazing with nice huge croutons. The pork was juicy and had a nice smokey flavor. The coleslaw was solid and the Caesar was fantastic. Service was great and super nice. Great place to try in Belfast,

Chicken and Brie sandwich-it does not come with onions-I stole those of the hubbys salad because I love red onions. Delicious!

This was the worst seafood meal we've ever had. Haddock was tough. Salmon was under cooked. The best thing sadly was the side dinner salad.

The food is consistently fresh, the prices are some of the best I've found anywhere on the Maine coast, and the waterfront atmosphere is exactly what you hope for when you're looking for an authentic lobster experience. I love that you can see the lobster tanks and even pick your own lobster. The largest lobster I ate during my trip was a 5-pound lobster from Young's, and it was unforgettable. Yep, they got your warm drawn butter too! What really impressed me was the value. On one visit, live lobsters were only $9.99 per pound cash and carry. Other specials included a Twin 1 lb Lobster Dinner for $36.95, a Crabster Roll for $30.95, Oysters on the Half Shell for $15.95, a Crab Cake Sandwich for $20.95, and an All-You-Can-Eat Crab special for $25.95. It's rare to find fresh seafood, generous portions, and prices like these all in one place. What truly makes Young's special, however, is the people. I had the opportunity to meet team members from Jamaica, Honduras, the Dominican Republic, and other places, all working together to create a welcoming experience for visitors. Every employee I encountered provided exceptional service, but I especially want to recognize Nick and Harold, who personally helped me throughout my visits. They were friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and made me feel like more than just another customer. Their hospitality played a big role in why I kept coming back day after day. Behind every meal served here is a hardworking team that takes pride in what they do. Young's Lobster Pound isn't just about great lobster it's about great people. After two years of visiting and spending much of my Maine vacations here, I can confidently say that Young's Lobster Pound is one of the highlights of every trip. Great food, fair prices, beautiful waterfront views, and exceptional people. I'll definitely be back next year.

We don't eat fried food very often, but this was definitely a great time to make an exception. My wife and I each chose different options on the Half & Half Seafood Dinner and shared our meals so we could enjoy a wider variety of seafood. We started with a fresh salad and homemade dinner rolls, and our entrées arrived shortly after we finished. The fried scallops were outstanding--probably the best I've ever had. The shrimp were cooked perfectly, the clams were incredibly fresh and tender, and the calamari was also very tender, although I personally would have preferred the breading to be a little crispier. The portions were generous. There was so much seafood that we barely touched our fries and still couldn't finish everything on our plates.
