The service from all of the employees here at the Pearl Harbor Navy Exchange is pretty good. The employees are helpful when I needed help. The selection of all of the various merchandise is very good. They have so much stock and merchandise to choose from. This two floor exchange has the most of all of the exchanges on island. The value is very good. They have good prices that are reasonable and a lot of them are better in price than at outside stores. They have ample parking. They have a lot of huge parking lots surrounding the exchange. read more

A Very Merry Fest... The Gift Festival they call it just happened over the weekend and as I do have my doubts about stopping by for a browse I'm so glad I did as it was quite a great size and selection of vendors that were participating including a stage for some cute entertainment with kids singing and dancing. Normally to shop here you need military id which I have neither though you're able to eat at the food court and shop at the carts outside of the NEX but The Gift Festival was in their parking lot which is always full anyways so it was a challenge to find some parking but managed to do so with a bit of walking. The various vendors here are a delight some selling snacks and condiments, with totes, craft items and jewelry just to name a few...along with a cute petting zoo. Chatting with some of the sellers is a delight as they work so hard to put it all together so that we're able to find that unique item which I did making it easier to check off the list. Along with the food court, they do have some carts and food vendors, Starbucks as well that everyone is able to enjoy without military id is nice also along with a restroom is very convenient just be mindful of the stalls you're parking as some are reserved. I've PCSd three times and lived in multiple different military locations and by far this is the coolest Navy Exchange I've ever been too. Great food court options and a really nice outdoor Lanai that feels calm and easy to relax on. The murals are gorgeous and fun to study when relaxing in the food court, and the shop part is really nice too. I don't buy many things from the NEX but it's come in clutch for electronics, gift cards, food, GNC, the liquor store, and military gear like gloves, earplugs, etc... I also liked to use the UPS location and Pearl Vision Optometry. Check it out if you can! read more

My how things have changed here. I used to come here often with my family when I was in my youth : ). Today, was a special day to bring my Dad on Veteran's Day. Many events were ongoing on this day. The Exchange is much bigger than I recalled from the past. The items offered amazed me. From Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Ralph Lauren, Bath & Body , and so many brands in clothing and make up. There was even Tokidokki bags here. They have a central cashier type system located on each floor level. I did not observe too many floor employees, except where customer service is located and in the cosmetic section. There's a Hawaiian section for coffees, goodies, and souvenirs, located on the second floor. Elevators and escalators are ample here. Bathrooms are located on each floor. No tax here! Pricing varies on each item. Know your prices before you buy! Lots of free parking. Just be sure to read the numerous markings and signs before you park. So, the navy exchange is rather fair! It was once the spot for ALL people to want to be there and shop. NOW... it seems like it's just another food court stop off before going home. BUT, this is only the food court and shops that allow EVERYONE TO BE THERE! Otherwise, in Macy's or certain places, you'd have to have Military to get access. Some type of military connection. I swear PRE-COVID, the place was MUCH LARGER & there were MORE SHOPS TO SEE ON BOTH INSIDE AND OUT. But now, they only have a few stores set up on the outside and Macys on the inside. Whatever happened made it more difficult for people to shop at. Anywho, it's nice to go there once in while to shop and find some cute things. They also have a few looks that sell cel phone accessories and crystals or stones. I would say, if you haven't tried shopping here, you should do it a t least once! read more

There's no ID Checkers at the NEX Moanalua for few years now. Only time of purchase show ID or soldiers in inform. The commissary no guests allowed unless accompanied with the primary ID card holder or in inform. Lots of changes has been made that many are not aware of. The food court not only serves military personnel but public patrons as well. In the foyer several years ago they launch Starbucks! Huge store with great inventory at cheaper-than-off base prices. Food court is typical American (Popeyes, Subway, Moe's, Wahlburgers, etc.).

Absolutely love this place! They have literally any and everything you can think of! You can totally score here during scratch card weeks which happens more often than you think. The food court is pretty good as well. Lots of different options. The only thing I wish we could do is shop at the commissary. read more

Hands down, the best Navy Exchange I've ever been to. Two levels of shopping nirvana. The selection, quality, and price makes coming to Hawaii affordable. Often times we end up doing our early Christmas shopping here while we are on vacation during Thanksgiving. The commissary is next door, and that place gets super crazy busy at all times. Shopping with mom in Honolulu, Hawaii... Because my dad served in the Air Force, my mom gets lifetime privileges at the Navy Exchange (NEX) near Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Mom likes to buy groceries here (at the Commissary) every week because everything is tax-free. When I go in, I need to show my ID. Anyone can go to the Food Court on the second floor. ID not required! The ground level and most of the second level is like a department store. The NEX carries American clothing brands such as Old Navy, Levi's, and GAP. Cosmetic lines include Estee Lauder Lancome and even Shiseido. There are accessories from COACH, Michael Kors, Dooney & Bourke, kate spade, and Tokidoki. The fine jewelry, small appliances, and shoe departments are well stocked. Upstairs, mom likes to buy Hawaiian souvenirs for my sister in Colorado. Outside, there was a tent with Christmas trees. They were advertising 25% off! Mom selected a tree for my sister's condo and one for her house. The workers were really helpful! One guy cut the strings and opened up a tree for mom (after holding up several trees) and carried it to the cashier! Other workers trimmed off the lower branches, tied the trees up, wrapped them, and placed them in her car! Wow! That's service! Thank you! Mom will be back tomorrow with my brother-in-law and a truck! They're going to buy trees for our church! read more

Nex. Navel exchange. This used to be the largest in the world. It sure anymore. But it is clean, easy to get to right off Nimitz and near Hickam and Pearl. No gate to get in but must have military ID to use. Everything you can want. Commissary has all your groceries and the exchange has everything else you'd want from a mall. All in one spot The good thing is there are no taxes. And lots on sale. But this isn't the cheapest I've seen. Not a lot of people to help like you'd find in a department store. But not paying as high a price as Ala Moana. But had many of the same selection and items. I give five stars because military and price and location. But they do have room to improve. Would have liked to see more service to help. Though those working the register were really fast and friendly. Will be back read more

I've heard of the Navy Exchange Pearl Harbor (NE) in the past and know people who shop here. I've also heard that you can purchase brand name merchandise at a discount and no taxes. Then why haven't I shopped here yet? You need to be in the military (active or retired), their spouse or dependent with a valid ID when purchasing. I am neither. I owe all my thanks to Auntie (Nadine C.), who picked me up from home one Saturday afternoon and had me tag along with her and her mom to NE. I've known for a fact that this NE has been selling a Hawaii limited edition watch that I've been wanting to buy for YEARS. A fellow Yelper showed me his watch one day and I just wanted it. I've asked friends who shop here to help me obtain one but here's the catch: These watches are sent to this NE randomly, so you don't know when they'll receive inventory. Only few are sent each time. They don't have a waiting list or will contact you when merchandise arrives. Auntie facilitated this outing as she asked her mom (spouse of retired military) to go shopping. Located just off the Honolulu International Airport, I was amazed with their huge parking lot. They often come here so I just tagged along and followed them after parking. Upon entry, I made a beeline to their watch department, which had a large sign. I walked up all excited and was greeted by the salesperson, who was very informative and cordial. As I had expected, the Hawaii limited edition watches are no longer sent to this NE. I then looked at their display and saw a couple of watches that got my attention. I saw one that appealed to me but then found myself debating with another model. Then the salesperson informed us that TAG watches will be discontinued and starting tomorrow they will all be 20% off. She is not allowed to hold them overnight but suggested we could buy them today and return tomorrow with the receipt to have the bill adjusted for the 20% off. Given that recommendation and having Auntie and her mom both willing to come back to NE after church to have the bill adjusted, I decided to get both watches. I also checked out the Ralph Lauren section and found myself reminiscing my college days as I'd buy long sleeve plaid shirts that I just love. After noticing these new shirts with a price tag lower than what I'm accustomed to and no taxes, I also picked up 2 new shirts. While browsing the store, I saw other merchandise of Louis Vuitton, Ray Ban and Bath and Body. Only the member with the valid ID can purchase items so Auntie's mother paid for all merchandise. They have a section to have my watch band links adjusted at no cost but I chose to have it done elsewhere. They also have a food court where you don't need to have an ID to purchase. Overall, a very pleased first experience at NE where I wouldn't mind tagging along again if someone extended me an invite. It's not often that I shop for myself but it's hard to turn down good deals. read more

We wanted lunch before our Pearl Harbor visit so we visited the Navy Exchange nearby. I grew up an Army Brat, so it's familiar being here, but I no longer have a military ID. So, without the ID you can't purchase anything in the department store. Luckily, the Food Court is available for purchases without a military ID. My family loved being able to choose what they wanted for lunch. The prices were very reasonable. I had sushi, my son had Popeyes, the rest of the family had Gyros. Everything was tasty and fairly quick. read more

I'm not current/active duty military, but since my son is in the Army, we had the opportunity to visit this shopping mall. Although no military ID is needed for the food court and/or food kiosks outside, the stores (NEX and Commissary) do require an active/retired ID to enter and purchase items. I do wish that this requirement would be changed to include veterans, but I am happy that our service members get tax free benefits to their purchases and a large selection of items available to them. They deserve it. TONS of parking. Numerous food options outside and inside the mall. Generally, friendly staff. read more

In A Nutshell: -The Navy Exchange in Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickham is huge. -If you are stationed here or have privileges to get onto the base to shop, this is a good place to get some deals. -They have a nice selection of clothes with big savings & most importantly no sales tax. -They even have luxury items, but be aware that some of them are used. -Their makeup section is large & rivals what you'd find in airport duty-free shops. My review is based solely on the lack of customer service given by the associates in the jewelry department (section with Michael Kors and Coach watches/jewelry) at this store. First, I want to say that I realize that it's Black Friday (day after Thanksgiving) so I'm not upset that I had to wait to be assisted, I'm upset at the poor customer service provided and the lack of having a system in place to make things more efficient. The frustrating thing is I was standing there for over 15 minutes, asking for help and was constantly told "I'm sorry, I don't work in this section" or "you have to wait". I thought the entire jewelry section was one section but I guess I was mistaken. One associate looked at me while assisting a new customer and said "just stand on the other side, I've seen you standing there but people are just coming over from other sections to be helped". When most of the people cleared out, the same associate that told me she saw me there yelled "who was next".. she saw me standing there for over 15 minutes and still yelled that out. She ended up helping another woman who came after me even though I said that I was there before her; I was completely ignored. A woman from another section within the jewelry area (April Mamaday) was kind enough to come over and help me with my purchase; the one star given was for her. She came up and greeted me, and offered to help me with my watch purchase. She was literally the only one there who acknowledged me and offered to help. Not to mention, she was the only one who greeted me and thanked me for coming. In the end, I know it's Black Friday and the stores are crazy but the customer service could have been a lot better and there really should have been a system in place so associates knew who was next in line. There's no point to acknowledge that you saw someone waiting for over 15 minutes and still have to scream out "who was next" and help whoever says "I'm next" even though they just got to that section. read more

The Navy Exchange Pearl Harbor on Oahu, Hawaii, is one of the largest exchanges for military personnel ( active and retired). It has two floors stocked with everything and anything you may need in nicely displayed and organized shopping areas throughout the huge building. There is an expansive food court on the second floor featuring a good assortment of restaurants from Dairy Queen, Taco Bell, Boba drinks, Dessets, Subs, sushi, gyros, Korean BBQ, and McDonalds! No tax is one big benefit of shopping at NEX and some below but comparable prices to outside retailers-if you know what's on sale at Longs, Target, etc. you can be a smart shopper. read more

I love this NEX location! Wish they had more shade for the cars, but they have plentyyyyyy of parking spaces - this place is huge! This five-star review is mainly for the women's shoe department and the women working there, including the check-out area with the Honolulu & Co. cookies (obsessed!!). So, I left my running shoes on the mainland, ugh. I really needed the same adidas ultra boost 22, and guess what? NEX had them! Thank goodness!! Saved my feet from blisters during an intense uphill hike with a 100lb double stroller with two kids, whew! Thanks NEX for having the best selections of women's running shoes! Also, sidebar - there was a creeper who followed me from my car all the way up to the women's shoe department. The ladies working there protected me and was ready to call security if he came back - they were watching him closely since he kept coming back to look at me (at least 10x - barf!!!!); I snuck away when the ladies told me to leave when he wasn't watching to go check out and grab my Honolulu & Co cookies. This is a great place to shop if you're military! This exchange mall has a little bit of everything! The parking lot is big and spacious. Upon walking in you are greeted by numerous kiosk shops of small businesses, sometimes they have events there hosting small craft fairs. There's a foodcourt upstairs. The atmosphere and ambiance gives a feel as if you're underwater with a beautiful mural on its ceiling of Wyland. The selection inside the exchange always has a wide array of items and necessities that would make any shopper proud. We loved the floral department there as well and used their flowers for our wedding. The overall value here cannot be beat ! We shop & eat here often! read more

I'm in the minority it seems but this NEX is just too big & too crowded. If that's your thing, I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself. As for myself, I'd rather go to the BX on Hickam which doesn't have a 1/10 of what the super NEX has but it's also 1000x less crowded. On the positive side, this is basically a shopping mall for the NEX. It has all the stuff you probably don't need but will spend all your pay on, and more. Lots of electronic stuff--TVs, gaming stuff, computers, etc. You'll probably spend less on big ticket items at the NEX than say a Best Buy but Best Buy has more variety. There's a giant food court and the commissary is right next door. And this is probably the only NEX/BX that I've ever seen not on a military installation. You need a military ID (or equivalent DoD civilian ID) to make purchases. read more

This is perhaps the nicest NEX Exchange I've ever shopped in. Upon entry you walk into a beautiful scenic Hawaiian inspired theme with a moral along the ceiling, island vendors in the walkway a waterfall sitting area and multiple places to take quick photos along the back drop. Bathrooms are near by, food court up stairs with eateries such as Country Kitchen, Korean cuisine, MC Donald's, Smoothies, Boba and more. There is also a uniform store for those who need it. The Nex is fully stocked and has several trinkets and high quality souvenirs at a great price. I picked up some island wooden spoons, shell wine stoppers, Hawaiian flute etc.... This location is right next to THE Pearl Harbor tourist location. Outside the NEX building are Hawaiian food trucks and more eateries including Starbucks. read more

In order to shop here, you must be escorted by a military ID holder or their spouse. On the first floor, there are alcoholic beverages, clothes, cosmetics, precious metals and watches. The second floor is full of children's clothes, baby and toddler goods, GNC, electronics, household goods, etc., and you can get them cheaper than outside. The best thing about it is that it's cheap and there's no sales tax. On the second floor, there are fast food restaurants that are open to the general public. Came here to exchange a romper with my brother in law who is a wounded warrior. We were about to pay, came to register # 2 and the sweet girl Rachel kindly told us that we had to do it at the customer service center. We make our way to the customer service center and there are 3 people ahead of us. While we wait in line, there is a nice officer in the navy that talks my brother in law and I to make the wait time go by quicker. A few minutes later, we are up next. The woman we had was exquisitely rude from the get go. She asked my brother-in-law for his military ID cause he's the one who is in the military. So he shows her his ID through the picture holder in his wallet. And the cashier says: oh, I can't see it. Like seriously? With the whole covid thing going on, you actually want to physically touch my ID?! Mind you, she had these clear food service gloves on as well. But it defeats the purpose if she were to touch my ID and then the cash register and other things. After having his ID in her hand, she then takes awhile to look over the ID and then says: oh, it is you like no shit Sherlock. She then does something on the computer and asks us to verify our address which happened to not be it when she read it back to us. So we updated our address for whatever reason. When she knew the address wasn't locally, she then says, oh you're not from here. Like really? Personal much? Then she asks for a telephone number so I give her a local number (my mom's resident number) and I guess she was expecting 3 more digits because she said: that ain't it. And I go, oh it's an 808 number. And she came back at me saying oh you need to tell me if it's an 808 number or not. Okay? My brother-in-law was very frustrated with her by her attitude. He feels that she needs to be retrained in customer service. If you don't like your job dealing with people/customers, don't work in that department. Ended up stopping here with family after getting gas. First thing I noticed was that there was no gate restriction so my GPS sent me right in! Overall, this NEX has got to be one of the better ones. It has pretty much all the standard NEX goods, but what sets it apart is the selection of Hawaiian foods, clothing, souvenirs, and even local beers. The prices are very reasonable and for the most part, items are well-stocked. I even found a bag of Ubae's crinkle cookies! Yeah, the lines can get long, but you'll run into that at every NEX. I absolutely love shopping here, especially school shopping. They have a lot of nice brand name clothing for such a good price for both kids and adults. They have some NFL jerseys and surf brands like Quicksilver that I always pick up for my son. When I used to be into Hello Kitty, I would come here. They have a full section dedicated to Sanrio items, mostly Hello Kitty items. I'm so disappointed in my shopping experience at the Navy Exchange Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. From what I understand, this is the largest military exchange in the world. We stopped by here to find long needed supplies while visiting Honolulu. I must say the customer service is the worst. Almost every NEX employee we met was either rude or not interested in talking to us. Worst, was at the Yummy Korean BBQ where the cashier seemed to hate her job. Never smiled and got so rude when my wife asked for some condiments. Also, the Thai BBQ stand messed up my chicken satay order and gave me something completely different. I didn't find out until I got back to our hotel. I have never been to any military exchange where the employees acted like this and seemed to hate their job so much. read more
