Moanalua Shopping Center has big-name businesses such as Ruby Tuesday, Starbucks, Taco Bell, Jack In The Box, Baskin-Robbins, and Jamba. Smaller businesses include Koa Pancake House, Timmy T's Gourmet Grinders Sandwich Shop, Tex 808 BBQ + Brews, Pigtails & Crewcuts: Haircuts for Kids, Forever Nails, and Ramen Ya. I love to come here just to walk around, enjoy the atmosphere and people. Grab a cup of coffee from Starbucks or a nice Orange Dream/Creamsicle (yum is what i call it) from Jamba Juice or maybe stroll to the other end of malnear Ruby Tuesday's for a double scoop of Mint chocolate chip ice cream from Baskin & Robbins. I think people here are just naturally on the go or in a rush because some people do not care for whom is in the right of way or the speed bumps. People are lil itchy to try to be quick when it's pretty much always a busy shopping center. We dined inside at Taco Bell because the drive thru had a long ass line but when we got inside it was pretty packed but the service was quick. We got our food within like 10 minutes after ordering and I absolutely loved that! Talk about fast food... Parking was moderate here because it was packed and people are annoying because for some reason they don't know how to drive or park their small compact cars. Other than speedy drivers and bad parking, this is a great place to come to because there's a wide variety of different places to eat at. read more

Located on Valkenburgh Street, just off of Nimitz Highway is the Moanalua Shopping Center that many locals aren't familiar with or knows even exists. It is tucked away by the Navy Exchange at Pearl Harbor, so it is most likely frequented by the military families that live in the area or the locals that live or work nearby. There are tons of casual dining fast food eatery options to choose from including Panda Express, Taco Bell, Jack in the Box, Ruby Tuesday, Loco Moco, Starbucks, Yummy Korean BBQ, Koa Pancake House and Jamba Juice to name a few. There are also a few other businesses and stores included in the mix, which altogether makes it a very popular spot making parking tight during the dinner hour and on weekends. My family and I would often drive here to grab a quick bite since there were many more options than the sad Salt Lake Shopping Center, which was located just down the road from us. Apparently the face lift they did on this center many years ago worked because they always seems busy no matter what time of day you come! read more

Facelift + New Businesses = Improvement. This new, improved, and renovated Moanalua Shopping Center is a vast improvement on the old relic that was it's former self. For people who grew up in the Salt Lake/Aliamanu area in the 80's and 90's, some may not recognize this new shopping center near the Navy-Marine Golf course. No, it's not an illusion and you're certainly not losing your mind. It's there, it's real, and it's waiting for you to visit. The old mainstays such as Jack in the Box, McDonald's and Taco Bell are still there, but all other businesses are new to the shopping center. These include Panda Exrpress, which has taken over the former Pizza Hut space, Ruby Tuesday, Starbucks, Jamba Juice, and Baskin Robbins to name a few of the mainstream business that are now tenants here. As a teen, I never needed to actually venture into the main area of the shopping center as I would just be going to McDonald's or Jack in the Box. Mainly, I come for food and coffee. This place fulfills a yelpers need because it has many options to put in our bellies! Take out- Loco Moco (salt pepper pork chop & beef stew bowl my favs), Yummy's, Taco Del Mar (one of the few left standing), Subway, and Koa Pancake house (pancakes anyone?) Love the renovated shopping complex. My wife used to work in the area years ago and tells me stories of the old, rundown Moanalua Shopping Center. It's kind of hard to picture looking at the current state of the place - full parking lot, people coming and going, thriving businesses. etc. There's something here for everyone: fast food dining, sit down dining, snacks and drinks, kids can get a haircut, I can pay my phone bill, etc. I could even charge my electric car (if I had one). It always seems to be crowded, but there's plenty of parking if you don't mind parking a little further out. read more

This place used to be deserted and no one wanted to come here because it was...well how should I put it...ghetto. Then about 10 or so years ago, this shopping center got a major face lift and now it is always packed. I mean there are tons of great fast food eateries here. There is the basics like Taco Bell, Jack in The Box and McDonald's. Then there is also Taco Del Mar, Panda Express and Koa Pancake House. And how can I forget the necessities: Starbucks and Jamba Juice! There's even a Chevron gas station, Baskin Robins and Ruby Tuesdays. And I just named some of the places to go to, there is still even more places. I love that there are so many choices. It is also very clean and happening shopping center. For those who remember the old Moanalua shopping center with the big M, this place is now amazing. There are always cars going in and out. It is especially busy during the week at lunch time since its near the military bases. This is when I try to steer clear because it is so difficult to find parking and takes along time to get my so called fast food. Tons of great places in such a small place, but I gave it 3 stars because of the parking situation. Whenever I have come here, except of course late at night on a McDonald's run, it's been difficult maneuvering and parking. The Moanalua Shopping Center is a quaint strip mall near the tail end of the Honolulu International Airport. Located on Valkenburgh Street, it was a quick walk up from Nimitz Hwy under the viaduct via public transportation, but driving is better since there is a plethora of parking spots here. Nearby is the NEX or Navy Exchange, so that's great for our Armed Services. It has basically what you need in a cozy type of setting. The only thing it does not have is a supermarket as an anchor, but Starbucks, Jamba Juice, and McDonald's sure fill that spot in an instant. It's pretty nice to be here, especially since I normally am doing my thing on East Oahu, and never really explored here - unless I am flying out of Honolulu International Airport and need cheap food solutions, instead of buying expensive at the airport. There are plenty of fast food options here, from the very fast and cheap (McDonald's) to the somewhat gourmet (Ruby Tuesday). I do like the Jack In the Box restaurant here, but for me, I need to stay in shape, so the Subway here can't be beat. Echoing other yelpers comments about this strip mall, this mall is clean and quiet too. Many families go here and I know why. I still need to go to Baskin Robbins and Loco Moco sometime, but my mainstays would have to be Starbucks, McDonald's, and Subway. I recently came here to meet up with a friend and her family to watch Sunday morning football on 12/30/2012 at Ruby Tuesday. It was a surreal experience, since it was my 1st experience here in 2012. I would have likely been running on Sunday morning, but it was a nice respite to be able to enjoy the Sunday morning with friends, food, and company. It may not be a happening spot like Aloha Tower Marketplace, Pearlridge Shopping Center, or even Ala Moan Shopping Center, but the Moanalua Shopping Center fills the void in the community. It felt really nice to be able to sit in the Starbucks while working on a few things after the Sunday football game. The ambiance was quiet and blissful. Moanalua Shopping Center reminds me of either Aina Hina Shopping Center, Hawaii Kai Towne Center, or even Koko Marina Shopping Center. The openness of this strip mall is great and it feels like you're not cooped up in a confined space, like Ala Moana or Pearlridge. Maybe one of these days I will come back and get a Baskin Robbins ice cream to celebrate 2013, but for now, there are great places here to dine and shop. This shopping center has many shops and restaurants. It is close to the military base and the airport. There are some restaurants here, such as Ruby Tuesday, that is closest to town. Unless you live or work in the area, it's very easy to forget that Moanalua Shopping Center exists. Overall they've done a decent job renovating this shopping center and have filled it with well branded, familiar vendors. For those of you trying to figure out where this is, it's the shopping center that has the McDonald's by the airport and is next to the Navy Exchange. Half of you are now shaking your head up and down and saying "Oooooooh." There are a variety of drive thru fast food options (Jack in the Box, Taco Bell, McDonald's) as well as my two most frequent stops, Jamba Juice and Starbucks. Smoothies for the kiddies and a double, triple, uber sized caffeine charged drink for me. Being a Mom can be tough, but quick food options can make it a little easier. Do you remember......A&W, Cheerleaders, Jessie's Bakery, etc. That was then and this is now. This shopping center has gone through some major renovations by developer MacNaughton Group. From what I remember reading and hearing, the MacNaughton Group got the redevelopment contract from the Military in what I would call a perfect Private/Public Partnership. The MacNaughton Group re-built the shopping center along with the military campus next door for the rights to the rents. Moving on....this center is home to so many stores and eateries. Starbucks Jamba Juice Jack in the Box McDonalds Taco Bell Panda Express Baskin Robins AT&T Store Yummy's Jeans Warehouse Verizon Wireless Ruby Tuesday many more...... What I like about this shopping area is the fact that you can practically do everything here. It's next to the Navy Exchange but you don't need a military ID to shop here. Hungry? For breakfast you got Koa's, McDonalds, Starbucks & Jack in the Box. For lunch/dinner, you have all the above plus Loco Moco, Taco Bell/Pizza Hut, Jamba Juice, Panda Express, and Ruby Tuesdays which is also good to go for drinks. Desserts? Baskin and Robbins got ya covered. Pay your cell phone bill at Verizon. Get healthy and purchase your vitamins at Vitamin World. Buy a new outfit at Jeans Warehouse while the hubby entertains himself at GameStop. They also have Pigtails and Crewcut if the little ones need a haircut. And out of gas? After reading the previous reviews, I tried really hard to remember the other business at the old Moanalua Shopping Center. Aside from the ones already mentioned, there was a satellite Post Office facility where I used to claim my parcels. It was great to have because that way I avoided the cray crays at the Airport Post Office. Anyway, to the present... My friends and I have dubbed this shopping center "Cheap and Cheerful" since we like to together in the seating area between Jamba Juice and Starbucks. We love it because there are enough places to satisfy everyone's palate and it won't break the bank at the same time. The renovated design is more inviting than the strip mall of old but I have to admit, I really miss being able to access the shopping center from Salt Lake Boulevard. Does anyone even remember that? It was before the Navy Housing construction. These days it seems like forever getting there from Salt Lake. Ditto on the parking. If you're trying to find parking during the lunch hour, prepare to wait. The close proximity of the military installations plus nearby businesses make it a really popular spot for those seeking lunch. It's a great alternative for us Salt Lake/Moanalua residents when nothing at Salt Lake Shopping Center sounds good. read more

Very small shopping center with little shopping to do here. It is mostly an eatery center. Ruby Tuesdays, Koa Pancake House, Panda Express, Starbucks, Jamba Juice, Taco Del Mar, Loco Moco, Baskin Robbins and the regular drive thru joints. Parking can get very tight during the feeding periods but there is always movement enough so that parking opens up. Seems like a family type Center esp because of all the food areas which attracts families. read more

This shopping center is great because you have so many food choices. I also like that you can get kids' hair cuts at a place where they're visually stimulated and having fun instead of squirming and crying. The shopping center is ALWAYS clean. With the amount of people coming in and out, that's surprising to me but it's true. It's always busy but I still manage to find parking even when the center is packed. Added plus having a Chevron right there...even though I cringe when I go to fill up since the gas prices have skyrocketed. read more

AUSTIN- YOU ROCK! I was getting worried we would never be able to replace a controller that we had bought the warranty for. We were told on multiple visits to our nearest Gamestop that they were all out and we would have to wait for the product to get in stock in store. This delay seemed understandable due to Covid, but then months passed. The product still wasn't in stock and the website "Contact Us" feature never replied. Had we bought the extended warranty for nothing? The product was available on the website but I had no idea how to get it! I decided to contact this store to inquire and see if I could get a different answer. Austin quickly pulled up my account and explained that he was able to get the product shipped for pick up in store. After being turned down so many times, I was shocked. Thank you Austin! Amazing They have plenty of parking. They also have great food places and stores. They even have this one nail and hair salon. They do great work on the nails. i got my eyebrows waxed and it turned out wonderful. They even gave me a free lip waxing to get rid of my peach fuzz. They have great people working there. They always talk story to you and its fun. At loco moco drive jn they have plenty of good food. Their loco moco is to die for!! They have great customer service. The only thing bad was that they have limited seating and it gets really pact in there. At the pig tails and crew cuts they have great service. When i went there to get my younger sisters hair cut she could stop smiling. That's usually rare to see her smiling when someones tuching her hair But i was glad. Its conveniently located close to the NEX, a lot of military people come here. Its a very clean shopping complex, parking area is okay, the stalls are pretty small. This shopping center is located in an convenient place next to the Ewa (West) end of the of Nimitz viaduct. While it is a shopping center, the majority of the businesses there are eateries, with only a few small specialty stores. There's everything from fast food, plate lunch and dining places. Lunch and dinner time can get crazy busy there and parking gets scarce, but for those with electric vehicles, they do have designated stalls with charging stations. read more

I absolutely love this shopping center but have become EXCEEDINGLY FRUSTRATED and ANGRY by the lack of security/authority enforcing the "no non-electric vehicles in the electric vehicle spots". I bought an electric car for the benefit of being able to park and charge in ELECTRIC VEHICLE SPOTS!!! And whenever I have visited the center in the past 5 months, all 4 spots are filled with non-electric cars! read more

Moanalua Center (not to be confused with the old run-down abandoned Moanulua Shopping Center of the past) opened for business in the second quarter of 2006. The Navy took back this leased land to build this strip mall filled with shops and restaurants. It houses the Navy Administration Buiilding (PSD) near the existing Navy Aloha Center. It's convientally located just below Moanalua Terrace Navy Housing, Navy Marine Golf Course, Navy Exchange, Pearl Harbor Commissary, and stone's throw to Honolulu International Airport. It's a clean complex with lots of parking. However, it can be a challenge to find parking on very busy weekends and especially during the holiday season. read more

I have to also mention her leadership is apparent in the other workers of Starbucks. They smile, are fast and courteous which makes such a difference to the customer's experience. You might say, a lot of Starbucks are like this. Agree, but when you feel valued and important among the many, it develops a unique and pleasant visit in which you would want to continue going there. My mom and I decided to eat lunch here last Sunday. Figured we have a nice drink to relax with and a delicious meal. Upon entering the restaurant, it seemed as if every person had a trainee and I believe this is why it made our lunch not a very good experience. I've been to this location before, but this time it seemed like our lunch was just dragged out. What should have been an hour or so, turned into almost 2 hours. The restaurant wasn't busy and it seemed as if the staff just had no urgency to get food to their paying customers or to even check on them periodically. I think there should be a minimum amount of trainees on certain days and maybe one per section, not a handful in the vicinity. The host didn't even seem like he wanted to be there. The trainee that was with our waitress, checked on us once but seemed to be having a good conversation every time he helped the booth next to us. All customers should be treated fairly. I don't think I'd be coming back here again. The drink wasn't very good for the price and the salad bar wasn't freshly stocked for service. read more

I had a great portebello hamburger for lunch today, with a side of smallish broccoli soaked in butter. Soggy with butter. Still, I really enjoyed the meal. My gripe is that this somewhat pricey hamburger in this somewhat upscale American style restaurant was accompanied by a tall glass of water that taste strongly of a garden hose. My wife tests Oahu water daily and it's among the best in the world, but not at Ruby Tuesdays. Sad. It really took a lot away from the meal. read more
