I've picked up breakfast burritos there twice. Both were excellent and ready in a few minutes. Very happy with them.

Twice here now. Rolled tacos with guac are pretty good. Chile relleno not bad. Thumbs up!

Absolutely packed with flavor and worth every penny. The vanilla latte was excellent too. They have a legitimate espresso setup right there, and you can tell immediately that this isn't just basic restaurant coffee. The latte was smooth, flavorful, and exactly what I was looking for. What really topped it off was the service. Everyone I interacted with was kind, courteous, welcoming, and genuinely seemed happy to help. Even though they were extremely busy, my to-go experience was easy and pleasant. After a frustrating breakfast experience somewhere else in Durango earlier this morning, Rupert's completely turned my morning around. Fantastic food, excellent coffee, great people. I'll absolutely come back whenever I'm in Durango. That breakfast burrito alone is worth the trip. 5/5.

My wife and I each ordered ours smothered in green chili. She had chorizo, and I went with the slow roasted pork. They were both outstanding. The green chili is some of the best in Colorado. These burritos are now tied with our favorite breakfast burrito in the state. We visited on a Friday morning in August. It was busy, almost every table was full, but we were sat immediately. Our server was friendly and attentive, and the food came out timely. We won't forget this place when we visit Durango. I forgot to take a picture before I started to dig into mine, but here's what a half eaten one looks like.

I live in the area and wanted to support our local coffee shop, and have been for about 9 months…read more The service has always been appalling and while 4.70$ for a drip coffee is steep, we supported them because they were selling a local coffee company (also called Steep) and were willing to pay the premium to support a local family owned roaster. They informed me today that they will no longer be selling Steep because they raised their prices. They are now selling allegro as their drip, and when asked if using corporate coffee would lower the price of their drip, they said no. As far as I'm concerned this is disingenuous and a pretty bad hustle. Other complaints include no visible pricing and random price switching (due to the lack of transparency). We will not be back. Please consider supporting the Steep roasting company ten minutes up the road, you can get a fresh bag for 2/3 the price that higher grounds sells it for anyway.

No joke it was the best latte I've had in a LONG time and I've had some fantastic lattes! The line was decently long when I came but it was only about a 10 min wait, the staff moved fast. Plenty of parking out front and seating inside, and they have a sister boutique next door that opens a little later in the morning and has cute stuff too. Overall if I pass through Pagosa springs again anytime soon I'll be coming back here!

Then I sat there for another 10 minutes and nobody even came back to take my food order, so I finally got up and left. The service was incredibly inattentive and the staff seemed like they couldn't care less. I initially put my name on the waitlist with one of the employees, and when I came back in later to check where I was on the list, the same person didn't even seem to know who I was or remember putting my name down. There only appeared to be a couple people working, and the entire experience felt disorganized from beginning to end. I was really looking forward to having breakfast here based on the reviews, but after 45+ minutes between waiting and sitting at the table without even getting to place a food order, I'd had enough. Warm water was just the icing on the cake. Extremely disappointing experience. I walked out and will not be back.

what is there to say about this place?…read more i personally have never eaten anything here EXCEPT their bakery goods which were superb, best in town, hands down. Every morning they seem to have a wide selection of freshly baked pastries, good coffee, big smiles and a beautiful building. When i am in town.. i stop here every single time, always, without fail.

She took the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad to Silverton, but unfortunately I wasn't able to go because of a medical condition that prevents me from traveling to high altitudes, and the train climbs to around 10,000 feet. After she left on her adventure, I decided to find some breakfast. While I was walking around town, my aunt called. She and my uncle used to vacation in Ouray every year, so she knows the area well. She recommended Jean-Pierre Bakery, so that's where I headed. I was seated right away and ordered a coffee while I looked over the menu. My waitress was very friendly, and we chatted for a while. She even recommended a few places around town that I should check out. I finally decided on the Croque Monsieur (brioche, béchamel, ham, and Swiss cheese) served with a salad. When my meal arrived, it looked fantastic. The sandwich was delicious, rich, and full of flavor. It was my first time trying a Croque Monsieur, and I really enjoyed it. The salad was fresh and crisp, and the vinaigrette paired perfectly with it. After finishing my meal, I couldn't resist ordering a pistachio cream-filled éclair that had caught my eye when I first walked in. It looked beautiful, but unfortunately, it was a disappointment. The pastry was very dry, and the bottom was quite hard. It definitely didn't taste freshly made. The pistachio cream had a nice flavor, but there wasn't very much of it. I mentioned my concerns to my server, and she kindly brought me a chocolate éclair to try instead. It also looked wonderful, but it had the same problem. The pastry tasted old, almost like it had been sitting for a couple of days. I would absolutely return for another Croque Monsieur or to try something else from the breakfast or lunch menu because that part of the meal was excellent. As for the pastries, they certainly look beautiful, but based on my experience, I would probably pass on them next time. This would have been a solid 4 star if those eclair had of been good.

We always stay in Durango on our way to Breckenridge so made sure we stopped here for breakfast. It's a little north of town. 9 miles but worth it. They have a cute and large outdoor patio area where you can bring your dog as well as a covered semi indoor area and a smaller indoor area. They are open from 7-2. I loved that I could build my own breakfast and ordered 2 eggs over medium cheesy chili grits and a fruit cup. My husband also ordered two eggs over medium bacon and hashbrowns. The eggs were cooked perfectly! I can't tell you how many times I have gone to restaurants and chefs. Do not know how to cook an egg over medium! Cheesy green chili grits were fantastic just the right amount of spice and a great cheesy topping so good! The fruit cup was plentiful with grape strawberries and cantaloupe, pineapple and all nice fresh fruit. My husband said the bacon was perfectly cooked and the hashbrowns had a great crunch. We will definitely come back anytime we are in Durango! If you're in the area, they are worth the trip.

The line into this place was extremely long. They had a lot of cute spots to sit, which was nice, but the wait was uncomfortable (especially due to how hot it was inside). My sandwich came out, and it was okay. The chicken was dry, and the sandwich didn't have all the toppings it should have, which made it drier. I ended up picking at it and instead focused on my watermelon and fries. I'd try other places in town, since there are many. I'd maybe come back to try a pastry.
