Customers BEWARE. Read BEFORE you go! I don't like to leave negative reviews unless absolutely necessary, but believe me, this business deserves what I'm about to write. I first went to NC Custom Tailoring on March 23rd with 10 shirts to be shortened. I was told it would take 2 weeks but needed 2 of them for a trip from April 1 - April 8th. They accommodated that request and I went to pick those 2 up on March 31st. They were identical shirts but for the color and when I got home and tried them on they were 2 different lengths. Since I had left another 8 behind to be ready by April 10th I panicked and went back the next morning for a remeasure. NOTE: That shirt is still not done correctly a/o this review on April 28th. YES, you read that correctly. A full month to correct a shirt length. I didn't go back to pick up the remainder of the shirts until Friday, April 12th, and was told the shirts I left behind on March 23rd were still not ready and to come back the following Tuesday. I asked to be called when they were ready so as to not make another trip for nothing. I WAS NEVER CALLED. Instead, I went in today, April 28th, and was told that the 2 shirts left behind that needed to be redone (one was too long, one was too short) were STILL NOT DONE. Not only that, but another shirt was missing altogether and they can't find it. Mind you, I am paying $15/shirt x 10 shirts, plus another 3 I brought in when coming to pick up the first 10. All you will get from the owner is an apology for their inadequacy. It is a SAD SAD business. Unorganized, unprofessional. DO NOT GO THERE. I BEG YOU! read more

Super hidden, this shop helped me get back my "workhorse" black suit and helped patch another suit that needed some care. They were recommended by Bruce Julian across the way, but they do very good work and are super friendly. The shop itself is literally behind the Bike Store, there's a small one-way drive that leads to a small parking lot where you can easily park. Just be careful coming in and out. When you walk in, the space has lots of garments hung everywhere, and the shop owner and workers are usually working on something. The space is really just set up to WORK... don't expect fancy bells and whistles or a hidden wall where your garments go behind and come out the other side like magic. There is a small dressing room to try on stuff and mirrors along the right side of the shop. I'm not sure if there's a system in place, but the store reminds me of a Harry Potter store (in a good way). As long as the owner can keep track of the stuff, it's a very charming place. The times I've come to get things altered or pick-up, I've been the only customer, but by the copious amounts of garments hanging and waiting to be picked up, I'm sure they do a lot of business. The hours listed on yelp, google, etc all have the store open until 5pm on Saturday. Three weeks ago I was told my jacket would be ready on in one week on Saturday the 21st. I showed up on the 21st to pick up my jacket, and they hadn't even begun work on it. No biggie, stuff happens sometimes. They said it would be ready by next weekend no issues. I show up today to pick my jacket up and the door is locked with the sign lit up saying open. I live 30 minutes away and this is the second time I've driven to pick up a jacket from this store. Will never be use them again in the future. read more

This shop is behind a bicycle store and hard to find on the first visit. They do high end alterations and are very reasonable. Both my wife and daughters had their clothes altered here and were extremely happy with the results and the price. I had a suit an old suit tailored here and now it fits and looks like it was custom made for me. Love the place and they are nice people. read more

If I could give them ten stars I would! This is definitely the place to go in Charlotte, they helped me out and did an amazing job in such short notice, they really hooked me up. I am taking the time to write this because I want to warn you about what you might face leaving your precious wardrobe in the hands of these so called experts. I have no doubt they can handle their way around alterations however the issues I faced are related to the service they provide. To start, I never got my items in the day they promised they had them ready, I had to go back at least 2 more times. They don't ask about what you want to get done on your clothes, they just assume they know and off course you will end up with stuff altered for their style which may not be yours. Like shorter hem just because "that is in style" or shorter arm length in a suit that was fitting perfectly and they had to later add fabric to make it longer again. So if you like to take these risks, go for it, they do great work, just hope it is what you wished for. read more
