Coming into this place I had very high expectations as the sign on the front window said "The best subs in town"and a fellow yelper raved about their subs. Neapolitan Gourmet is a small Italian Grocery and Deli store located off Pine Ridge Road and Airport in the Bed Bath and Beyond plaza. They sell authentic Italian imported items from their array of canned tomatoes to pastas to EVOO. The owners pride themselves on making many of their products in house with homemade sausages, marinara sauces, pre made cutlets, mozzarella, lasagnas and cut to order homemade subs. I was immediately greeted by the owner, Vinny who was very cordial and made you feel at home. You could tell he prides himself on the quality of products he sells and was very informative of what they had to offer. He even had me try their homemade sausage with broccoli rabe which was delicious! I ordered the Italian Sub with Capicola, Ham, Salami and Geno along with lettuce, tomato, onion,cherry peppers, provolone and home made mozzarella. Everything was sliced to order including the toppings. The bread was rustic while light and airy on the inside that was a perfect canvas to hold all the ingredients. I rarely give out 5 stars because it's hard to find a place that can provide quality, value, cleanliness, great customer service/friendliness and offerings, but this place was well deserving of each of those criteria's. The sub was phenomenal and lived up to the sign and agree, it's the best sub in town! I highly recommend this place and will be back again soon. This deli had hints of New York Italian deli but it wasn't quite it. I had the Italian, while the meat was pretty good, I wish the bread was better and it wasn't so dry. They really do stuff it full of meat and cheese so you do get your money's worth. I tried a pistachio biscotti and some other almond cookie too. The almond cookie was lacking flavor but the biscotti was good. Just not sure if it was authentic though. read more

Honestly the best Italian sub ever. The meat is shaved so perfectly it's effortless to bite thru, not dense at all. Bread is great, and the paper thin tomato is exactly what the doctor ordered. 1st time customer originally from NY. Went in yesterday based on reviews and looking for fresh ravioli. They only had frozen, but we tried a box of each along with the sauce. It was decent but nothing to write home about, I guess I'm just spoiled when it comes to italian food. We also picked up a 2 links of sausage and the fennel sausage was tasty and I would recommend it . Also, had the fresh mozzarella and that fell short of my expectations. I got a an Italian sub here ONCE a few years ago and I've thought about it every single day since. Finally got the chance to go back today for another and it was even better than I remembered. There aren't enough words in the English language to describe exactly how amazing their food is. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. (However, I will say I never thought I'd be so passionate about a sandwich..) Also, important, you could be a regular customer or a total stranger and as soon as you walk in, they treat you like a part of their family, like you've been friends for years. I got the cold Italian sub, a pound of italian deli meat, provolone, lettuce, tomatoes with oil and balsamic vinegar doused onto one side of the fresh crunchy french bread. During the Holidays you need to order early, because they sell out of their Catering trays quickly. I ordered a turkey panini that was great. Do not go to Neapolitan Gourmet unless you don't care about your health or the health of your loved ones. We have been customers for over 10 years, now we will never step foot in there again. We stopped in on Saturday, November 14, 2020 only to find Vinnie (the owner) and a customer not wearing masks. Someone from the back (wearing a mask) filled our order as we kept our distance from Vinnie and his customer. After the customer left, Vinnie tallied up our purchases. I voiced my concern about the lack of masks. Vinnie replied masks don't work and he doesn't intend to wear one or require them. He was both ignorant and obnoxious. He seems to think he knows more than the doctors and scientists. It's also against the law to enter a store maskless per Collier County. We'll never get ahead of the virus with people like Vinnie ignoring the experts. read more

I drive out of my way about every two weeks for their HUGE sandwiches. Their Italian style tuna sandwich is a very smooth treat... I know it's hard to get excited about tuna, so if you've never been there just go ahead and order the full cold Italian sub! After you fall in love with TRADITION you can work your way up to their tuna and roast beef versions. And bring your cooler if you want any groceries like the lady I met that drove up from Marco Island. They have homemade sauce as well as some homemade delicacies that they freeze for your FAMILY.
