My wife and I had the pleasure of renting a townhome with nease for a year: Property: Provided to us clean, recently remodeled, and well equipped with new appliances. The 2 bedrooms were large, like 16x14 and 15x13 with plenty of closet space. The patio was enclosed with plenty of privacy. We had 2.5 bathrooms and they had new countertops, shower/tubs, and fixtures. The bottom floor had brand new tile throughout that made it easy to clean. Our unit had a washer dryer hookup inside the garage but there was a community one on the property as well just in case. Security: Initially the security situation was a little sketch. We had people walking through the property since it had an unlocked gate from the back to the front of the property. However they listened to the residents and added a security gate that cut down on that and made it feel much safer. They also had no issue with a video doorbell and security camera we temporarily put up over the garage. Parking: For every unit on the property there were 2 spots one outside and one garage except ours which were both inside the garage. All guest parking was on the street and it was usually not an issue. Maintenance: Any service calls we put in were handled quickly and with professionalism. No complaints here. Service: The entire nease team, Kelly and Casey specifically, were absolute gems to work with. They answered and questions we had, accommodated us when we needed it, and generally took care of us as both tenants and customers. I have rented from a couple of property management companies and I have to say nease has given us the best service yet. You can be confident that you will receive nothing but the best customer service if you choose nease. Conclusion: I recommend nease's properties without hesitation. They have come a long way and there is no doubt to me they listen to their tenants and care about your experience renting with them. read more

During my tenancy, I reported a serious plumbing issue in the guest bathroom that was not addressed in a timely manner, eventually resulting in significant water damage, mold concerns, and full replacement of flooring, carpet, bathroom, and portions of walls. This issue also began affecting my health during that period. After remediation, I repeatedly requested mold testing documentation that was never provided, despite being told testing had been completed. After move-out, I disputed multiple charges, including pre-existing countertop damage documented prior to move-in, carpet charges, and a front door lock fee that I had been instructed to reinstall. After I provided evidence and challenged the deductions, many were not pursued, and the owners later returned a significant portion of my deposit. Overall, my experience included delayed repairs, lack of transparency, poor communication, and attempts to shift responsibility for property issues onto the tenant. Instead, I was accused of posting "hate speech" and of harassment for including the owners in emails using publicly available contact information. This is unreasonable. The owners had previously shown up unannounced and communicated directly during my tenancy, so open communication cannot be considered inappropriate only when it is inconvenient. To be clear, my review is not hate speech. It is a firsthand account of my experience with property management, including communication, handling of repairs, and professionalism. Criticism of conduct is not discrimination simply because it is unfavorable. Any implication that my review was directed at specific ground is NOT true. Faith-based conversations during my tenancy were mutually initiated. My concerns are strictly about treatment, communication, and management practices that do not reflect what is publicly portrayed by Kelly. TLDR: Nease doesn't know how to manage their property. I'm currently a renter at one of their apartments in Fullerton, CA. I have been there for 3 years now and I feel like I'm throwing so much money down the drain. Each day I grow a new gray hair. There is no insulation; during the summer it gets no colder than 82F, our AC is ALWAYS on (yes they replaced the AC unit). When it's winter we cannot retain heat. Some windows don't close all the way, some are broken and don't stay up. Some of our maintenance requests are ignored or take months to complete. Master bedroom ceiling fan has little power to spin. Another apartment's controller has the same frequency as the master fan and sometimes turns on/off on its own (they 'fixed' in the past and same issue is happening again). The door knob to one of the rooms is broken and they only bush fixed it, only to break again 1-2 months later. Washer unit needs maintenance and has been leaving residue on our clothing. We attempted to clean ourselves but did not work. Request has been ignored once before in the past and current one has been open for nearly 2 months now with no update since last month. read more

It might be petty, but I'm very unhappy with how quickly they resolved this issue due to the attention the negative reviews got, how Kennelly seemed to miss the point that we were unhappy due to their lack of communication, and how she thinks that her personal life story had anything to do with the situation. I have had nothing but problems since the owner of our unit switched to Nease. If you can, get a place from McFadden property management...they we . Nease has been both condescending and unhelpful (my sink and laundry room have backed up 4 times in two months and they still haven't fixed the pipes.) UPDATE: It took 2 months to or them to fix the busted main. It was crumbling. Also a pipe under my house burst, draining raw sewage for months under the house. For this nightmare they have offered 4 days of rent credit. Oh! And when they saw my review, Kelly at Nease blew my cellphone up at 10:30 pm on a Friday. I assume she was trying to bully me, had had too much to drink, or both. Their negligence put my family's health and safety in danger. If you are a slumlord, then Nease is the company for you! I have rented on and off from Nease Property Management since 2009. I am once again living in one of their properties and I couldn't be happier. The lease signing and move in process is always very easy and they are quick to answer questions. If I have any issues, and I have had quite a few, very normal, issues come up over the years (clogged shower, heater maintenance) they are quick to get someone scheduled. Their plumber and HVAC guys have always been prompt, polite, and fantastic at their jobs. If they have any issues they call right away and NPM always reaches out to me as well. So I just want to warn everyone that wants to rent for this agency, that the deposit might not all be returned to you. I was a tenant for the management property at Orion Ave Santa Ana CA, my lease was over and i had left my unit clean and without damage. My wife and eye spend almost 6 hours sweeping, mopping, cleaning blinds, cleaning the bathroom and kitchen. All that work just to get a email stating that we left the unit dirty and that they had to charge us 250$. Wtf! Funny cuz we were out on the 7th of April, yet the unit was listed as move in immediately. Be prepared to get robbed. read more

Overall, Nease Property Management and Bonnie were good property managers when i lived on the property. I didn't have many complaints or improvement requests, so as long as I paid the rent on time we worked fine together. When I vacated the property, Bonnie became a ghost. I placed several calls in to hopefully get any mail that was sent to the old address and check on the status of my deposit. Every phone call resulted in the supporting office staff telling my Bonnie was out of the office (numerous times) and she would call back.... no call ever came. I was repeatedly told they legally have 21 days to return my deposit, even though i left my place immaculate and asked what could possibly be deducted, they just said they had 21 days and usually take the allotted time period. I waited the 21 days, and no check. After several subsequent phone calls, I eventually got the deposit check almost 30 days after vacating, however the amount was incorrectly shorted. I threatened poor online reviews with additional followup phone calls and finally got a call-back from Bonnie, in which she was not informed on my situation and said she needed to look into the situation but would do it "right now" and get back to me. Two weeks later, i still have never heard back; I just got off the phone and once again Bonnie was unavailable to speak to me. Poor follow-up! read more

Then they will make the repairs, say it was your fault and demand you pay for the repairs they ignored. They will send a statement with unbelievable charges and accuse you of things you didn't do. WARNING DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE. I truly believe the prior reviews were paid for because this is the absolute worst property management company you could ever lease from. Kelly and her mom Bonnie are terribly rude, condescending, unprofessional, unwilling to arrange for repairs and downright nasty people. Leasing from them was a hassle, headache and the most frustrating experience time and time again. One example is that we did not have heat in our apartment for the 2 1/2 years we lived there even after having countless repair guys come to 'fix' it, the issue was never resolved and they did not believe us when we called to request a repair. As a prospective renter, one should expect realtors/property managers to be somewhat accommodating to a clients work schedules during the week. This is unfortunately not the case with Casey. I was attempting to view a rental property and change my schedule, but she was always unavailable to accommodate us. Finally after getting the day off she gave me a WEAK apology and had rented out the property to someone else. We rented a townhouse, in Fullerton. 1st were told, place was move in ready, by Kelly. Not. Dust in all cupboards, from putting in flooring. Toilets were nasty, sinks were filthy. Dishwasher never worked, crusty, and spinner broken. Dust on ceiling fan. Back yard covered in seed pods from tree. Washing machine faucet leaking. Move in ready? After complaining, they sent their cleaning lady. She had to spend 2 days, cleaning. Still never saw property manager. They asked me to make copy of keys, and return a set to them. That's just trying to move in. We had flooding twice, 1st was water heater, flooding kitchen. Then neighbors in unit 3 had plumbing in wall rupture, flooding both our units. Never any compassion, from nease. Never same come out. This goes on & on. In the end, when time to move after 4 years, never late with rent. Rudest letter and conditions we were to meet for moving out. Always, we leave place better then when we move in. They charged us $145 cleaning. And regrouting of kitchen floor tile. Place flooded, twice! They have gall to charge us for cleaning. Bonnie, is the rudest, laziest property manager ever dealt with. Kelly same. We live out of state but the communication is awesome, they resolve issues and really only bring us in when a tenant moves and we need to make some decisions regarding updating the units.
