Food and staff are incredible. We had the nicest server, Chrystal. My fiance and I decided to go for brunch and when you walk in, it is the cutest set up. Bees and yellow are my favorite things so it made my heart so happy walking in and seeing the cute things they had for sale. I got the spicy chicken and pickle sandwich and my fiance got the Daves Sandwich. We ended up switching halfway because we both loved both meals, we wanted a swig at both of them. My not spicy loving queens, the spicy pickle sandwich is HOT! My lips actually swelled up from the heat but I was fine and if you ask if me I would eat it again, I would 100% deal with swollen lips to eat the goodness again. Nectar is amazing! It's been on my list to try since it opened and it did not disappoint! My friends and I sat at the bar and had the best lunch! Goodness! Been here three times and absolutely love Nectar. We've only been to the Bluffton location but know they have another spot, too. When you walk in there is a cute area up front to shop goods. We've purchased honey and a cool smoked olive oil. You can sit inside or outside, and a lot of times there is live music! We've sat outside once and inside twice--in different areas. There is a good buzz of chatter going on but nothing too loud. There is a ladies night special one night a week which sounds FUN! When I ordered a Bloody Mary, which was exceptional, I was also given a sample of their beer. Too awesome! My favorite savory thing has to be their grits. Goodness! One must also try the Belgian waffle. My husband loves the "Southern Breakfast" because he sticks to the basics. Do yourself a favor and stop into Nectar! We were excited try Thanksgiving dinner. Honestly, couldn't be more disappointed in the quality of food for the price. Turkey was dry, instant mashed potatoes served were not good. The surf and turf was a small piece of roast beef and the shrimp was unappetizing. Plus forgot the biscuits after we asked multiple times. We drove in from ATL for Labor Day weekend with our friends and this was our first place we went to eat when we arrived. The atmosphere is nice, the food is amazing & the staff were nice. One of their appetizers that I would recommend is their fried green tomatoes. The sauce they put with it is amazing.. it was weeks ago when I was there and I still talk about those green tomatoes. For my entree I got their chicken salad sandwich and honestly it was really good too. Wish they had one of those restaurant closer to me because I would love to try everything on their menu. 100% recommend this place. read more

This is one of our favorite restaurants to bring family and friends visiting from out of town. Food is savory from appetizers, main dish's and cocktails. Service is friendly, welcoming and attentive. It's a cute venue with indoor and outdoor seating, live music and an outdoor bar. Great spot for brunch. Serge group is a good company. They have an excellent reputation for buying up existing restaurants in the Bluffton / Hilton Head area and allowing them to keep their souls. Meaning the restaurants retain their staff, menus, and ambiance. They dont come in and make major over-hauls. if it aint broke dont fix it or.. break it. Many restaurant groups make this mistake. Nectar, this one and the one in Hilton Head are Serg's first foray on an original design. Their breakfast is good. Here's my problem. 1. overly expensive. 2. Service is always bad. like comically bad. bartenders are often visibly intoxicated. hosts are missing. 3. The logo, in my humble opinion was completely ripped off of the Bluffton Mead Company around the bend. like the EXACT same bee. 4. The chicken sandwich too, seems a LITTLE too much like the one you get at Calhouns across the street. Nectar will do well with better management and finding their own uniqueness. serg just grows and grows and grows. and that's fine, but the labour pool is low round here. growing too fast, results to bad management, poor service. read more

Love this place! Consistently friendly service with really great food! And the house brewed beers are fantastic. My favorite menu item is the pork bowl. It is outstanding!! For starters when we arrived the hostess never smiled, not once. Then when seated the air conditioning system dripped on our table Aaaand our waitress came to the table Annnnd never smiled or introduced herself. Then the shrimp platter was very small shrimp and well OVER cooked and the she crab soup had to be sitting around as it was thick and salty. I write reviews as having been a restaurant owner in a beach town, Wildwood Crest NJ, I realize how Important first impressions are. I also had a very young staff and the second year in business I made changes to a more mature staff that needed to pay a mortgage so they had a better investment in employment and more of an interest in "serving" the customer. I had the Cobb salad and will give you kudos there as it was delicious and my brother in law had the fried chicken sandwich which also was very good. My husband who ran our kitchen had the shrimp so he was highly disappointed however I told him and my sister in law (who also has the shrimp platter) I would return for the sandwich but they all agreed they would never go back due to the unpleasant servers. We are all foodies and just bought two homes here in Bluffton. FYI my husband and I are serve safe certified as well, our restaurant seated 80 indoor with outdoor dining for 50 and a full take out and delivery. We also took first prize for our "she crab soup" We most weekends had a waiting list to dine in and 50% of our income was take out and delivery so we were a "balls to the wall" restaurant during the prime dining hours. Just telling you this so you know we know the industry. Seems like your servers need a new attitude. My sister in law said she would not go back as the young ladies that waited on us and seated us seemed like spoiled little privileged girls. read more

What a gem of a restaurant nestled in this small town just outside Hilton Head. It has the ambiance of a hip Manhattan restaurant but the feel of friendly southern comfort. It was a nice night so we decided to sit outside in the patio. Our waitress greeted us with the best southern smile and answered all the questions we had. I have been in search of the ultimate shrimp and grits, and she highly recommended their version. My wife wanted a steak. We were both very satisfied. My Shrimp and Grits was so delicious. I highly recommend it. The shrimp was so fresh and the sauce was perfection. Likewise, my wife said her steak was so tender and perfectly cooked that it just melted in her mouth. Was passing through on the way to the airport with Jamie A. and we opted to stop for a bite to eat. We looked up the menu online and felt like this had some of the best variety of the places we'd be passing. We found a street parking spot a couple of blocks away and were seated shortly after we checked in with the hostess. We got a high top table in the bar area. I opted for the sweet potato pancakes with a side of hashbrowns. The portions are large and filling. The sweet potato pancakes were hearty while also being airy. Not terrible but not amazing. Pretty pricey too. I liked the waffle and pancake but my kids and husband did not. The pancake is a really thin buttermilk pancake it's different from a fluffy pancake but I liked the flavor. The hashbrowns were ok bacon was really good. Eggs Benedict good nothing amazing. The egg sandwich wasn't great. The biscuit is kind of gluey versus fluffy. It wasn't our favorite. All in all not bad but kind of underwhelming. Made reservations, showed up on time, told me someone is sitting in our seats and they just got there entrees so we need to wait for them to finish. They told us to find a seat anywhere while we wait so we sat at the bar ordered pricey drinks, lol they made us stand up and get out of the bar stools lol as they told us that was reserved seating. They did a great job converting this brewery/sports bar type restaurant to a nice family friendly Serg group venue. We were there for Mothers Day with 8 people including 2 children. We were seated quickly and the kids were provided crayons and paper to color. To start--- you have the option to sit either inside our outdoors under umbrella tables. The outside has a full concrete slab as opposed to the previous grassy area. We were inside this time. I had been to the Nectar Farm Kitchen on the Island, but this was my first time here. I started with the Nectar featured amber ale as my beverage. The menu is vegan and vegetarian friendly with many local vegetable providers. The Lowcountry local theme leads to many old favorites such as grits and collard greens being added to many of the items. I ordered the Carolina Catfish which was served with collard greens and bacon over rice. It was delicious and well prepared.
