This place was awesome! Food was amazing and staff were super nice! I loved all of the old signs on the walls Too bad I don't live closer and we were only driving through and had to try it!

    Ned burger. Cant go wrong

One of the best burgers around. Be patient. Every burger cooked fresh. My favorite of the beaten path Glenn the wall.

Leaves a lot to be desired. I assumed it would be fresh flounder not frozen, store bought planks. All breading and over priced.

This is actually the second time I've been here and it was just as good as the first. This restaurant is off the beaten path in "downtown" Aynor, SC. There really isn't much of a town or downtown, by Northern standards. It is mostly locals who frequent this hidden gem. It is a simple exterior, easy to miss with a small sign. Inside is simple and plain with its painted plywood ceiling. But the burger is far from plain. This is home to the Ned burger which is about a half pound of a delicious heart attack. If you are brave enough, you can order the double Ned burger which is about a pound of meat! I barely made it through a regular Ned burger and I passed on the fries and other sides. Not to out done, there is a triple Ned burger! There are some pictures on the wall of people who were able to survive that mountain of food. Don't know if they went straight to the hospital. The burger is not only huge, it is delicious. Quality tasting juicy hand slapped beef patty. Those who also ordered sides said the French fries and onion rings were perfectly prepared. If you are ever in the Aynor area, disregard the plain Jane wrapper and dive in for a Ned burger.

Food was good, worker was very rude. I asked for extra Mayo and she said and I quote " you can come up and get it yourself I'm busy" with an attitude a simple I'm a little backed up right now give me a minute would've sufficed or give me a couple minutes but she was very rude about it. My friend also tried to order and she gave the same attitude to her as well simply over adding a condiment, Loved my burger. But I would NEVER talk to my costumers the way that lady spoke to me and my family. I work in food service and get it, but that's no reason to be rude. Might not come back here for that reason. It's not my fault you're busy, find a new job if you're that un happy that you have to treat people like that. Respect and friendliness is free. Ruined my whole meal over her commentary.

Rather than circling around Aynor searching for this strangely addressed business, I'll help you out. Its at the intersection of S Main and 8th. How that location got an address on the 500 block of N Main I'll never know. 2013 #128 / 365

After having the crab cake sandwich we would recommend doing the platter because the bread overpowers the crab cake. Everything was incredible, the flavors, consistency, and quality. It is for sure comfort food but nothing sits heavy and feels super fresh. Not a fan of coleslaw but it was super yummy and great corn fritters for our first time having them. Service was great. Ambiance was super informal and adds to the vibe of what you're eating. Also unrelated but the cashier/server has a super calming energy/presence/voice which totally added to the vibe

Came with slaw, 1x Side (Collard Greens: sweet vinegar with some heat, and a bit of pork, really good!), and some AMAZING Hushpuppies (fresh, sweet corn bread). Shrimp & Grits: Fantastic! Buttery and cheesy grits with sausage and nice shrimp (not over-cooked or chewy). Green beans were slightly too soft (30-mins until closing), but good comfort food. Coleslaw was "meh," but a good, crunchy foil to the fish and rice. Counter Service (order at register, then they bring to table/to-go) was quite fast, given that they had to cook the fish and prep foods for take-out. Everything looked clean, staff was nice, and owner was talking to everyone. Didn't get to try the variety of desserts, but they looked and smelled great. Traveling, but worth the stop!

They quickly seated our party of five, which was a great start to our visit. The service was okay. Nothing over the top, but not bad either. There were a few times our drinks got low, and we had to look around for our waitress, but it wasn't a huge deal. One thing I did notice was that the restaurant felt a little warm and humid inside, but with how busy it was, I can understand why. Now let's get to the best part--the food! My mom ate the crab cakes and cleaned her plate. She said they were so good she almost licked the plate clean! The kids had the chicken tenders and loved them. They were just a little overcooked, which is why we ended up taking some home, but they still enjoyed them. My wife ordered the HUGE grilled shrimp salad and finished every bite. She left happy, but she did mention she would have liked a few more shrimp, especially considering the price. As for me, I had the Catch of the Day, which was swordfish. Let me tell you--if you've never tried swordfish before, go to Carolina Roadhouse and order it! I had mine broiled, and it was cooked perfectly. It was tender, flavorful, and hands down one of the best fish dishes I've had. My only complaint? I wanted more! Overall, my little family had a great experience, and we'll definitely be back. Next time, I'll finally be trying the famous ribs that everyone keeps talking about. Thanks for a great meal, Carolina Roadhouse! From the Griggs Family

This evening was a very good experience, mostly. Let's get the less than positive out of the way. We made reservations for 5PM. We were out and about and got there about a half an hour early. Walk in, spoke with the hostess and explained we knew we were early. (By the way, there were very few people in the restaurant at the time). The Hostess, an older female with longish greying hair, huffed then showed us to a table. She at least took us to an outside table as we requested. She never identified herself. And honestly we felt as if we were bothering her. Ok, enough of that. Now the positive. Our server was Taylor. This young man was awesome. He was upbeat and personable. Very pleasant and wanted to communicate, not just serve us. My wife and I asked for water, and ordered an appetizer of their Mac and Cheese balls. They were awesome. Hot, fresh, stuffed with pasta and warm flavorful cheese. Next we ordered cocktails. My wife ordered a Painkiller. Me an Old Fashion. Taylor recommended I try their version, New Fashion. Made with their mix of a house Bourbon. Man it was good. And the Painkiller? Let's just saw I held my wife hand, and guided her to our vehicle. For our main courses, my wife had the chicken and sausage pasta. I had the Bison Ribeye. Both we would order again without hesitation. The pasta dish was huge. With two breasts and numerous pieces of sausage. Over Fettuccini style pasta, with a lite and flavorful red sauce. It tasted fresh, and rich. She could only eat about a third of it. The rest came home. I ordered my Bison medium rare. The Chef hit it perfectly. Beautiful red meat in the center, nice and warm. So much flavor, and tender. With it I had the potato of the day. They were mashed with the skin. Full of butter, milk, and seasoned. In addition I had a side of creamed spinach. Very rich and deep. The cream tasted similar to a cheese sauce. So good. I brought nothing home. Finished the entire meal there. In addition, because it was our anniversary, the gave us a very nice card. And a piece of cake for dessert. Champaign was offered, but neither of us drink it, and didn't want to waste it. If you haven't tried Crooked Oak Tavern, you are missing a very nice experience.

The host very kindly escorted me there & what a great surprise! The Tap Room host, Joanne, saw me looking a bit lost & greeted me. I didn't want to take a whole table as I was just there for a cocktail. Joanne suggested one of the leather lounge chairs & got me settled. She made me feel very comfortable. I'm old school enough that as a woman I felt awkward being in an unfamiliar town in a bar full of strangers. Joanne reassured me & checked on me throughout the evening. I had a fabulous Old Fashion, enjoyed the multiple TV's & ended up conversing & laughing with a whole family who were also visiting. All around, a great experience that all started with Joanne taking me under her wing & making me feel comfortable. I will definitely go back the next time I'm in Conway!

We almost drove past it even though the GPS said we arrived. It did not look like a restaurant, but one indicator that there was good food here, was all the commercial trucks in the tight dirt lot. There was a double burger as well and I am glad I didn't order that. My regular burger was huge. Easily a half pound+. It was cooked perfectly despite the super busy kitchen.
