Food was good. Had wings which were crispy and tasty and fried pickles. The homemade ranch was a standout. Pizza was good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Place was crowded but a good time.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I enjoy visiting family and meeting up at Tavern in the Forest. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a fun environment with good food and even better service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Always had a great time there!

Service was good, quick to our table about 7PM. The waitress said we had just missed the rush. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall, it was a nice setting. We sat at a high table with an elevated bench seat[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. The food was decent, nothing that would make me beg to come back, but not bad either. My espresso martini was yummy! Overall, a 3 for us means we would give it another chance, but we aren't craving to rush back.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Tavern in the Forest is a really fun spot![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We popped in around 6pm on a Sunday. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was fairly busy, but we had no problem getting a table.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have really good happy hours deals as well especially for appetizers and drinks! Our server was very kind and we had great service throughout the evening. We ordered the buffalo chicken dip to split for our group of three. It was a good portion to split and very tasty! Can't really go wrong with a buffalo chicken dip in my opinion. Then I enjoyed the specialty slice of the day which was a cheeseburger-style pizza with beef, pickle, tomato, and a fun burger sauce. It was just like a burger on a pizza! Plus I love anywhere that served by the slice, so you can mix and match! Overall, great experience for some bar food.

Teriyaki burger was great! [[HIGHLIGHT]]1st time here, nice atmosphere. Low key. Can bring the family or have a drink with friends.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Staff was friendly, could have been a little more attentive and refilled drinks. Would try again if we were in the area.

The parking lot is usually full, which always felt like a good sign. Well... after years of saying "maybe next time," we finally stopped in -- and we're glad we did. We were in town for a few days doing some work at our place and decided to try something new for dinner. I checked Yelp beforehand to see if they had a happy hour menu, and they did -- and it looked good. We arrived around 5:00 pm. There were only a few cars in the lot at that time, and the building (which used to be a Pizza Hut) is easy to spot. When we walked in, we were told to sit wherever we liked, so we headed straight to the bar. The bartender greeted us right away, gave us menus and waters, and made us feel welcome. Since it was our first visit, we had a lot of questions about the menu. The food seemed like a fusion of Asian and Korean flavors, and we weren't very familiar with it. She was fantastic patient, knowledgeable, and very helpful. She even mentioned their Date Night special, which turned out to be a great deal. She made my wife an iced tea that was different than the usual but very good, and I had an Old Fashioned that was excellent. We decided on the Date Night Special, which is a prix fixe menu for two for $45. It includes one starter to share, a selection of small plates, each person choosing their own main from a list of six (two with a small upcharge), and a dessert to share. For our starter, we chose the Scallion Pancakes. They aren't really pancakes in the traditional sense -- more like a thinner batter that's deep-fried and served with two sauces. Both sauces were excellent, and the appetizer was a great way to start the meal. For our mains, my wife ordered the Bibimbap with chicken, and I had the Korean Fried Chicken (+$3). When they set the plates down in front of us, I looked at my wife and said, this looks really good -- why haven't we stopped here before? Her dish came in a shallow bowl with cucumbers in a sauce, thinly shaved carrots, kimchi, rice topped with an egg, and a piece of fried chicken with sauce. Mine came with coleslaw, fresh-cut French fries, and two chicken breasts covered in the same flavorful sauce. The chicken on both dishes was the same, and that sauce was outstanding. My first bite was literally, "Why have we passed this place so many times?" My wife loved everything on her plate, and I enjoyed every bite of mine as well. Our dessert, the Apple Crumble, came out before we were completely finished with our meals. This was really the only thing that could have been handled a little differently. Even though we didn't eat it right away, it was still good we just felt a bit rushed trying to finish our food so the dessert wouldn't get cold and the ice cream wouldn't melt. Overall, we found a new top-5 restaurant to eat at when we're in town. To top it all off, while sitting at the bar we were talking with a waiter named Logan. He asked where we were from and mentioned he had family there. It turned out he's a cousin of a friend who grew up with our son and was actually in our son's wedding. Just a few weeks earlier, they were all in Myrtle Beach for a bachelor party for his cousin. Small world! Don't be like us driving past for years and saying "maybe next time." Just stop in and give it a try. The food is wonderful, the service was great, and we will definitely be back.

We were excited to try it out and made reservations a month ago for my birthday. Hostess was kind and pleasant. We were seated quickly. Our server, Nick, was very kind, knowledgeable and attentive. There were four of us, so we all tried something different. The place was very neat and clean. The tomato appetizer was small, but it exploded with taste. My wife got the Seabass and it was phenomenal. I got the pork chops and they were excellent, the best that I ever had that were not breaded. The sauce was phenomenal and it was perfect for the garlic mashed potatoes. We were looking forward most to the lobster mac & cheese, but disappointed that it was bland. We were also disappointed that they did not have the French onion soup this week. The potatoes au gratin stole the show. All four of us agreed those were the best. The polenta base under my wife's Seabass was not edible. Overall, it was a great experience and we definitely would go back and we would order the ribeye and try the other sides such as the brussels sprouts the next time. The ribeye was that great. Enjoy!!!

We visited this location just before Christmas 2025 at about 6:30 pm on a weeknight and the joint was quite lively. They had a singer/guitar player doing his thing (we didn't really care for him, but that's ok) and the bar was well staffed. It's called Bourbon Street, but it's definitely not a whiskey or bourbon bar. Yes, they have Blanton's and a few other premium bourbons, but you won't find anything exotic at all here bourbon wise. This place is a sports bar that does bar food and steaks and they run happy hour specials as well. We didn't eat on our visit, but those that ordered food had dishes/items that definitely looked appealing. Prices are pretty fair here, but we felt the gem of this location was it's service. We never had to wait long at all to be served or refilled. Their bartenders (we were served by three different ones) were very friendly and quite attentive to all their customers. There's free wifi and plenty of seating both at the bar and at tables throughout. The floor plan is cut up sort of weirdly and I do wish it was one huge, open floor plan, but the roof support doesn't seem to allow for it. They do have a small stage in one corner for musicians, etc. This is a good sports bar that seems to do a really good job of sports barring. Check it out if you're looking for a competent and friendly sports bar.
