I decided to give these egg roll forgetters another try, and I am glad that I did! Not only were they prompt in service, but they were apologetic about the mishap. There was not a jumping through hoops process to prove that I was the victim of forgotten yums, which I appreciated dearly. They merely asked if I called them to let them know, which I informed them that I did, are that was the end of the negotiations. They apologized and ensured me that I would magically find an egg roll in my bag this time. I ordered the combination rice and general chicken, again, to see if they could be consistent with the taste. To my surprise, not only was the taste once again pleasant, but also, the plates were really packed. Bang for your buck will always go a long way with me. The place was packed, but my order only took about 10 minutes to fulfill. When asked if I ordered the same thing from my initial visit, I let them know that I did. They then showed me that my order did not come with an egg roll! Big oops on my part to say the least! Sorry folks! Combine that with the "ghetto" prices and DING-DING-DING we've got a winner. The food here is quite good but as with most places, not authentic. Yep, it's mostly Americanized Chinese but that in and of itself does not make it bad. This is a sorrowful looking establishment situated in a dingy little strip mall behind a gas station. Upon entering, some might have second thoughts but I'd ask that you take a seat and indulge. The staff was very attentive and answered all our questions in reasonably comprehensible English. Everyone was enjoying their food, which to me is one of the best indicators of a good restaurant. The first thing you'll notice, other than the décor - there isn't any, are the massive portions of food. If you're looking for the biggest bang for your buck, you'll love this place. Only soda in cans, take-out ok, and even a drive-thru, are all awaiting you at Nee Hao. The only demerit was probably the egg roll which I found not to be very good but still perfectly edible. Whenever I think of no frills chinese food, served in epic proportions, NeeHao always crosses my mind. I don't come often and that's probably a good thing. Whether dining in, or getting food to go like many people do, they generally give you the food in a to-go box. They have a drive thru also, which may or may not be faster than going inside to place an order. One of the ladies inside will come out to take your order when she sees the drive thru has 2 or more cars. I can't really recommend any particular dish as nothing I've had was mind blowing but it will certainly fill you up. The quality of the meats is also questionable, but if you aren't picky about your chinese food, that won't be a problem anyway. Née Hao is a small family American Chinese food place. I have only been here during the work week for lunches. It is located in a small strip mall next to a gas station and a car wash in a sketchy area. Having said that, the place is packed for lunch and has a thriving takeout business. I get there usually by 1130 am or 1245 pm. I usually have to wait for a few for table. You see every walk of life here, from suits to laborer to everything in between. The food is better than good, but not to die for. Their claim to fame is the quantity of food that you get for the price. Two people could share a lunch special and walk away with a Togo box. If you order Togo, the food is literally shaped to the box top because it is so packed. I like the pepper steak myself, and I have not been able to finish an order yet. I also get the Singapore rice as it has a nice curry flavor instead of the traditional ham fried rice with my combo. It is a great value for the price and it is good American Chinese food. When you are served, your plate is 4-5 inches tall. If you walk away hungry, that is on you. The staff is nice and service quick. Good food, great price. read more

We always get orange chicken, the orange chicken is so tender so juicy and soo good the sauce is to die for, but the egg rolls hit on a different level of deliciousness, so crunchy and so delicious. Where do I start? Oh I know, location. So this little restaurant is indeed the exact definition of "Hole-in-the-wall". Absolutely nothing fancy about this place especially the location. But what about the food? I'm glad you asked!!!! HOLY CRAP!!!! I ordered the House Soup and a small shrimp fried rice. The soup broth was flavored to perfection but it was not alone. It came with an ensemble of shrimp, watercress, veges, wonton and more. The bowl was more like a bucket. Yes, portion sizes are not wanting. The "small" shrimp fried rice was also a delicious side dish but take my word for it.... don't be a fatty like me and think you'll need it as a side. The friggin "small" PLATTER can be had as an entry on its own. Did I mention that portions are never lacking? Needless to say, I didn't walk out of that place... I waddled! Conclusion, I give the four stars only for the taste, quality and portions of the food... that's it... if you're hungry for some good Chinese takeout style food, you've got to give this place a visit. As long as you realize that this isn't *really* Chinese food, you'll be fine. As far as I can tell, whatever you order will come covered with the same corn-starch thickened brown sauce. Each plate is overflowing with a cup-and-a-half of soy sauce fried rice, your entree, and an egg roll on top. I ordered kung pao chicken and my colleague ordered garlic chicken. Seriously, they looked almost identical. Under the brown sauce, mine had plenty of chopped chicken, celery, mini-corn, mushrooms, and leafy greens. Don't expect traditional Chinese food, but if you're looking for a belly-busting reasonably healthy meal, this is the place to go. Without drinks, the tab came to $9 each.
