Neehee's recently opened back up after a remodel and the place made some great changes. Most importantly, they expanded to at least double the size. This was huge on their part as the place gets hopping! The atmosphere was well designed with lots of seating arrangements. I like that most the seating is located away from the area where orders are placed. Our group didn't feel rushed as we did in the past because people weren't waiting for seats. I tired so many dishes during this visit and enjoyed every one of them! So flavorful with a mixture of textures. We dined with our friends who are Indian so they were of great help to us when choosing food. My husband and I feel comfortable enough to go back on our own now. I've been to Neehee's one other time a few years ago and wish I lived closer to have it more because of the variety and quality of this Indian Street food invokes mouth watering with just the thought. I had been meaning to visit Neehee's for a while! Along the many businesses flanking Ford road in Canton, and tucked away in a little strip mall, lies this food gem that definitely deserves a visit. The concept here is fast-casual Indian street food in a welcoming environment that caters to anyone looking to try some Indian vegetarian food and satisfy their hunger / taste buds. I feel this is a great place to come for a quick / tasty dinner with friends, family or whomever needs some spice in their life! I got the bigger dosa which was literally about 4 feet long! It is definitely shareable, which I shared with my table. I did enjoy the dosa but felt the chutneys could have been more spicy. I'm not sure if my tastebuds have acclimated to Indian spice or if the dipping sauces were a bit more watered down to appeal to a broader palate. Either way, I still enjoyed my dosa and felt the portion was worth it even if the chutney dips were not the best I've had. We also had a few other items in our party such a pani puri group tray which had a sizable amount of pani puri- it easily was shared between our group of 7-8 people. They also have ice cream dessert here in a variety of specific unique Indian flavors which I appreciated, although they were out of the pistachio kulfi flavor I wanted. They did offer samples for other flavors which I appreciated. I also like how there is ample room in the dining room to cater to different sized groups! Plus, I can tell the employees here care about having a clean environment and they were constantly picking up people's plates, etc. This is a must visit in Canton. I give four stars instead of five as I feel most of the food options were not the healthiest. I also wish the food was a bit more authentic / spicy but that is my personal preference. We love NeeHee's! I don't even know where to start ... It's Indian street food. Amazingly consistent. Super flavorful. If you're new to Indian, it's a great place to dip a toe in the water. I've never had close to a bad experience. One time, mmmmaybe some ice cream didn't taste super fresh, but it was mid-winter during a pandemic, so I'll give that a pass. It's 'fast food' - not quite as fast as McDonald's - but fast enough you order at the window and get a buzzer. You used to not be able to call in an order and that was our #1 complaint, but since Covid, that's changed, so yay. We have so many favorite dishes that I don't know where to start. The one I always go back to is the Samosa Chaat w/ yogurt. It's sweet, herbal and salty, hot and crispy w/ cool yogurt. Hits all the pleasure spots. Another favorite is the Rava Masala Dosa. If you've never had dosa, they're amazing giant pancakes, usually with some kind of onion or potato filling and chutneys on the side. There are two types fo dosa on the menu -- They're both awesome, but the real stunner is the semolina one. It's got this awesome bubbly honeycomb texture to it that makes it extra crispy and the perfect compliment to the soft, mushy potato filling. It's something truly special. I also find myself drawn over and over to the Cut Mirchi -- They're banana peppers battered, fried, and topped with onion, cilantro, and magic. Take a gamble and get some of these to share. We also love the Idly (fluffy steamed rice pancakes) because I can't get enough coconut chutney, ever, and the Pav Baji (tomato curry stew) that you dip buttery, soft bred into. I don't get this one, bc tomato allergy, but it's my boyfriend's #1 favorite. He gets it at different places around town and his comment about NeeHee's is that "it's amazingly consistent." So take that as you will. We don't often venture into the world of sweet drinks there, but you should. When we do, we get the fresh sugar cane juice -- a real treat! They serve it with lime and masala (savory spice blend), which was a little weird since we're used to more Thai-style, but def worth trying. They have all sorts of lassi and other drinks with layers of vermicelli and such? Maybe one day I'll try that, but we're always so stoked for food that it's just too much. If you've made it this far in my review -- WOW. Treat yourself to some ice cream. But really, do it. The rose-turmeric-pistachio from Nee Hee might be my all-time favorite ice cream from anywhere (ever)? But if you want to try a second one, we can also vouch for the Chickoo. read more

We tried an array of food items like lunch combo...chaat, poor I then dosa, idli vada and cane juice. Every item tasted fresh, fluffy, oil less and most of amazingly refreshing and tasty! We had come searching for vegetarian food after stuck in the airport overnight after the IT outage and Neehee's offered it's welcoming ambience and clean interiors including the restrooms. We rested our head after filling our hungry and tired bodies until the time for the time for the connecting flight. The staff didn't disturb us while we rested and nice soothing music helped us rest. I like this place a lot. The food here is really good they have a lot of south Indian and North Indian options and indo Chinese. They have a lot of options for drinks and they have a lot of ice cream flavors. The only thing I didn't like is that they give u a pager and when it buzzes and rings they only give u one item from your order and you have to sit down and keep coming up to the counter- it keeps buzzing each time one of your items are ready. I have mixed emotions with this place. The restaurant is good they have a good dining space but you will have to serve your self. Few items are over priced while few are very reasonable. The attendant at the counter is not very friendly(Sad face). Most of the food they serve is good. But I will not recommend any one to get a Pani puri over here. They have twisted the whole recipe. If you ever find yourself with fifteen people to feed on a Monday night when Neehee's is slow enough to squeeze together enough tables to accommodate your very own fast-casual banquet, consider the following order: 2 Dahi Puri Pani Puri (family basket) 3 Cut Mirchi 2 Plain Masala Dosa 2 Paper Masala Dosa Mix Vegetable Pakoda 3 Khaman Dhokla Methi Gota Gobi 65 Dry Gobi Manchuarin Dry 2 Chole Bhature Chili Orange Potato Paneer Chili Dry 2 Paneer Paratha Vegetable Fried Rice Samosa Box Side of Sweet Chutney Side of Green Chutney For just about $18 per person, you and your friends will feast like vegetarian kings! My favorites from the smorgasbord were the paneer paratha, paneer chili, gobi manchurian, methi gota, khaman dhokla, cut mirchi, and dahi puri. With the dahi puri, we probably could have skipped out on the pani puri. As hindsight is 20/20, I would have replaced the Gobi 65 for a second plate of Gobi Manchurian. Four giant dosa were probably overkill, as two of the paper dosa would have been sufficient. I would have also liked to get second plates of the paneer chili and chili orange potato for a group our size. But those cut mirchi! I've had a lot of chaat, but never ate anything quite like these before. They're fantastic. Same goes fore the methi gota, but I'm a sucker for methi anything. Amazingly, even with all this food, we didn't make a dent in the menu. There are still so many other delights to try. More than anything, I wish there was a Neehee's closer to Ann Arbor. No, you don't have to go with a group of fifteen people to enjoy this place. But do yourself a favor and bring a posse. This is food that's meant for sharing, and you really need to order several dishes to appreciate the varied tastes and textures of the cuisine. On your own, this is an expensive proposition. But with a group of four to six, it becomes more manageable, and significantly less expensive. So gather your friends and go. I'm still on the lookout for a chole bathure as epic as the ones they make in Berkeley, CA. So if anyone has a lead to a better one anywhere in Michigan, please let me know. read more

This review is not about the food but the online order experience. Ordered online on the new year eve. I drove for 20 minutes after completing Wayne light fest to pick the food and found the shop is closed earlier ( by 4 pm ) because of different timings on New Year's Eve. I saw another gentleman stopped in the next parking to pick up the order. This was by 9.10 pm. I don't know how many customers had faced this inconvenience. I used online order system instead of calling by phone because few months when I called I was asked to place order through online system. Then you should have the system to provide the best experience. I found the credit card was charged. I need to make a call and get that reverted. I appreciate the staff who didn't take more than a couple of minutes and resolved it quickly. But still why I need to call to revert the charge. It shouldn't be charged when the order is not fulfilled. Right? Management please take care of your online ordering system. When you have a online ordering system, that should be reflecting the business hours and restrict the timings till what time you can pick up. read more

If you like spicy food this is the place for you. I don't do spicy, but they did have a few dishes that were very tasty and filling, in fact, you really don't miss not having meat. I know that if you like crispy and flaky, then you have tte come here to get their giant three feet crepe! I know it's noon called that, but that's what it looks like. Their smooth and creamy ice cream is very tasty, it's a toss between ice cream and sherbet put together. Just from tasting the variety of dishes that we had between 14 of us, you will get full quick. Really cool innovative Indian food for the area but the spice level and palette for Indian cuisine is just not there. The flavors were very one dimensional. Coming from California, where we have amazing Indian food, Neehee's was very disappointing. We were excited that there was pani puris that you eat one by one but the tamarind taste wasn't there. The sauce was just salty. I hope they add more flavors but maybe the people around there are not used to so much flavor. read more

Fast street-food style vegetarian Indian cuisine, NeeHee is a great place to dip your feet into a bunch of different types of Indian food. They don't have the standard traditional entrees I'm used to like paneer palak or tikka masala, etc. But it has a Chinese fusion part of the menu that us very unique. There's a few stir fry noodles and vegetable dishes that look amazing! They also have a lot of desserts and ice cream flavors. I tried their Mango Lassi, which comes in a smaller size than what I'm used to but the taste is very good. Rich and thick. The portion sizes here are pretty individual. Things looks hefty but once you start eating, it's so good the food disappears quickly. We ordered a special Guj Thali (M7 on the menu) and it's a good sharing size for 2 people. It came with 4 small tin bowls of curry. They were all relatively spicy to me. It's a soupy style of curry. The chickpea one was my favorite. The mixed veggies one is a little thicker in consistency, very good also. There's two other tins, one with a creamy yogurt and another one with a sweet mango custard. Both very interesting. The mango custard is like a thicker version of a Mango Lassi. Overall, very good fast food restaurant. read more

I ordered for delivery soon after the restaurant was opened so they might have used it from last nights badge. But when I called to lodge the complaint first they don't have a system where one can complain secondly although I am telling them I want to complain they were so reluctant to talk it just made me feel very bad. We went to lunch, and we ordered 2 charts (Dahi Puri + Tikki Chole), 1 masala dosa and 1 dosa wrap. The masala dosa was made so thick that it was under cooked. The dosa wrap was cold. The dahi puri chart was made without extra dahi, like it used to be prior. The quality of the food has dropped in this place. We will never go back! I can see why they are not busy like they used to be. Overly expensive for below quality food. On a Friday there were just a handful of people eating. Because of the business slowing down for them, that is why they are running specials and advertising all over there front window. Every now and then, I get out of my carnivorous mode, and opt for vegetarian food, specifically Indian vegetarian. My search in Detroit landed me at NeeHee which is located in the suburbs of Canton. I quickly checked out their menu online, and instantly became a believer. I wasn't sure if they took take out orders over the phone, so I just walked in to place my order. This was around 1pm, a busy lunch time hour. The place was pretty packed and I could just smell the Indian herbs n spices flowing through the vapors. I pretty much could identify all of them and potentially which dish they were a part of. Their menu was pretty extensive with a large variety of items and a description of each item for those who might be unfamiliar. I went with a chaat papdi, which I highly recommend and a bhel puri. These are pretty much snack items put together with different spices, yogurt, garbanzo beans, chutney etc to make it a fabulous dish. Another item very popular is the masala dosa which is a thin flakey bread made out of rice with curried potatoes inside and served with different veggies. The items I ordered were delicious and had plenty of flavor. Prices are very reasonable and u can also view pictures to get a better understanding of what the items look like. I was around the Detroit area for work and I was in the mood for a light lunch. Looked on yelp and I ran across NeeHee. I was surprised when I went inside and saw how modern everything was! It looked like a futuristic fast food joint! The person taking the order for me was very patient. She was helped explained what items most people order and what is popular. I decided to go for the Pepsi Chaat. When I say that meal was so delicious. It was very delicious and filling! I wasn't sure if it would fill me up but if did. They have a good selection of ice cream as well. With exotic flavors like fennel ice cream which was amazing as well. I think our big group of 6 confused the servers in the back when pay time came, since they would have charged us twice if we didn't catch them in time.
