I went here to get my lash extensions removed. The lady was really nice when I first came in, but…read moreonce she put the remover on my lashes, she went straight onto TikTok Live and basically stopped paying attention to me. The remover was left on way too long, and at one point she came over and rubbed it into my lashes with her bare fingers. After sitting there for around 15 minutes, I finally had to call her over and ask how much longer it would be. She then started removing my lashes rather aggressively and got the remover in my eyes. It burned so badly that I couldn't keep bear it and had to sit up and it was just awful and i was cursing and all this things because of how bad it was. She tried wiping it away with a wet cotton pad, but it just made the burning worse (mixing the water and the BURNING solution into my eye). I ended up having to go into their bathroom to rinse my own eyes out, and the bathroom was honestly disgusting so that sucked too. The craziest part is she didn't even remove all of my lash extensions. She charged me $25 like everything was fine and didn't apologize once. I sat in my car for a few minutes, and the more I thought about it, the more I realized I shouldn't have paid for a service that wasn't even completed and left me in so much pain. I went back inside to ask for a refund, and she immediately started arguing with me. She kept saying the burning was "normal." I've had my lashes done and removed before, and this was way beyond normal irritation. Her only solution was to have me sit back down so she could finish removing them, which I obviously wasn't comfortable with after what had just happened.When I asked to speak to someone else, she said she was the manager. She just stood there asking me what I wanted, and when I asked for a refund, she shrugged and refused. I honestly don't know if they're properly trained or certified to be doing lash removals. Leaving chemicals on while you're distracted on TikTok Live, using your bare hands around someone's eyes, and sending someone home with lashes still on after getting remover in their eyes is completely unacceptable. I definitely won't be coming back and will be escalating this issue to the city. Such a terrible attitude for 25 dollars, they must be desperate.

Signature Free Waxing is a nice and private studio tucked away in the corner of a strip mall off Irving Park. Chanara keeps the space safe and private. The services she offers are extensive. I appreciate that she worked with to assess if I really needed a service I originally requested. She did a great job on my eyebrows! She is gentle and thorough. My skin is sensitive and gets crazy red and pimple-y after a wax. I appreciate that she took the extra step to apply some cream to calm down the red. Finally, she is so pleasant to talk to! The second time after completing my haircut the stylist gave me a receipt that said $15. I asked why since it's clearly advertised that all haircuts are $10. She said it was because my hair is long. My haircut literally took less than ten minutes since all I asked was a few inches to be trimmed off the bottom. Meanwhile there was another customer there when I arrived whose meticulous fade was ongoing and clearly much more time and labor-intensive than my haircut. But I imagine his haircut wasn't upcharged because his hair was short. I quit going to conventional salons because they would always charge women more for dubious reasons unrelated to the labor-intensiveness or time put into the haircut.
