This place would have once received 5 stars from me. I regretfully give it two. I used to get my brows done by Sara. She was like an artist with that thread. I have seen her turn beasts into beauties. Then since let her go. The owner left the place. Bilal has since left the place. The brows have now all been jacked and the good fades have faded away. Since the new management change. Everything has changed. The quality of hair cuts and brow artists. It also smells like some serious body odor up in there. They really need to take care of that because i almost gagged. I love this place for its convenience but I hate it for everything else. I would like to formally resign from being a customer, effective immediately. Goodbye Mario's.... you were once the place to get lined up and brows done nice. My original place for eyebrows and upper lip threading. The things we girls go through... Go see Noor - she rocks! She's quick, efficient and knows her brows. She makes it almost painless. Almost. Be warned - she also has a fan club. More times than not, I'd be waiting for her with 5 people in front of me and a poor "other threader" asking if she could do my brows instead. I get my eyebrows threaded here. Why? Because it's fast, good and relatively painless. Ask for Noor -- she rocks -- she's there from Tuesday-Saturday. It's only $6 and takes about 5 minutes. I've tried to duplicate the results by plucking, but it never looks quite as clean! I hear the haircuts are good, too. Maybe I shoulda gone there instead of Segovia. Oh, well. I'll try it next time! Very nice work for $12.00 bucks on eyebrow/upper lip threading!!! I usually go to Noora. She very sweet and not afraid to start a conversation with anyone. They just recently raised the eyebrow thread to $8.00 bucks but I think it's because they are trying to keep up with the Joneses!!! and price services like every one else. Nor keeps me coming back. I've tried cheating on her and going to different places, but I keep getting disappointed. She's precise and fast. And when she threads, she definitely has a lighter hand so it doesn't hurt as much. My only qualm, you get your eyebrows threaded in the same space as guys are getting their haircuts. You gotta be brave enough to not care as they stare at you while you are getting threaded. As if they think we women have perfect eyebrows naturally!! read more

This is the worst place I have been to. My son's hair was cut completely crooked! I was specific in explaining we DO NOT want short hair. Showed him how much to cut and he still cut it wrong. Had the nerve to tell me what he thought my child needed. To make the whole situation worse it that the owner has yet to return my call. I have left 2 messages for her. Klara is amazing! When my coworker first told me about Klara, she said she waited about an hour to get her eyebrows done. After weeks of having caterpillars on my forehead, I finally decided to give it a try. I went in on a Saturday afternoon and there were 7 girls in front of me. I ended up waiting for a total of 30 minutes but it was so worth it! Klara knows what she is doing and she is very good at it too! I have been coming here for years to get my eyebrows done. Just this week, they sent out coupons for a buy one eyebrow thread get one lip service free. However, when I went in today and gave them the coupon, they wouldn't honor it. She said it was a mistake and she wouldn't take it. It wasn't my mistake. I had an email specifically stating the offer. Yet, she still wouldn't honor it. It's bad business in my opinion and unfortunately for them, they lost a customer because of it. read more

I take it back as I came in to get my money back on a chopped up so called layered hair cut the same woman messed up on another customer with her eyebrows, as we both complained to Noor (the owner) about the messed up jobs this women had done, she defends her about both horrible jobs both my hair and this lady's eyebrows. Please do yourself a favor and find another salon, it's clear if for any reason they mess up on anything you will NOT get your money back and Noor will try to deny everything. read more

This place USED to be the best place to get your hair did but once Mario sold it, the place has gone south. One thing that I miss greatly is how Mario knew who you were and who you were there to see. Now, you're just asked and harassed by numerous stylists for a cut, like walking into an auto dealership. And the quality of stylists has really gone down. Mario had some great people cutting hair, including himself and his brother. Again, once the place was sold, the good ones just up and left. Highly recommended if you want your eyebrows to be on "FLEEK" that's known to mean be ON POINT!!! Noor has been doing my eyebrows for many many years. Everyone in there is great. This USED to be the place for men to get their haircut and men/women to get their brows done for cheap but at a good job but the place has gone downhill since Mario, his brothers, and other originals have left...note, they are NOT on vacation if you ask for them. My boyfriend went to same people to get his cut and brows done and I went to the same girl. Mario never did his hair but knew we were regulars. Since the ownership has changed, you get asked by several "stylists" or "threaders" if you want to go with them after it is obvious that you are waiting for someone in particular. I agree with a previous review that it is almost like you are walking into an auto dealership and not a hair salon. A lot of the good and original stylists have left. Thankfully, we found out where several of the stylists have moved and continue to see them for our hair and brows. read more

Noor is a lovely lady and did a lovely job with the eyebrow threading. The 3 stars is mainly because she recommended eyebrow tinting and said it would last 2weeks and it only lasted about 3days. For $15, that was a waste of money. It was my first time getting it and the tinting looked nice...but maybe my regular facial products stripped it off faster than usual. read more

Got my eyebrows done before by klara she is simply the best... she always takes her time and you will always leave happy. I would give this place a five star but they could be a bit expensive. Yesterday I went to ask how much for an ear piercing and to be (SPECIFIC ONLY ONE SIDE) not to mention I had my earring as well. And the owner noor was charging me 15 dollars for a procedure that does not even take 3minutes. Too expensive if u ask me... I went to another place on Lawrence and Drake and THEY only charge me $5 for my piercing. .. Which its way better than $15 . Well I only go here to get my eyebrows and upper lip threaded and I think Clara does an amazing job. She's usually pretty busy and has quite a wait most of the time. I have tried going to other places and every time I do, I regret it because only Clara can do an excellent job threading my eyebrows. The pet peeves that I have about this place are that they do not accept credit cards/debit cards and that they are constantly on their phones either texting or talking. The second pet peeve bothers me the most because it's really unprofessional especially when they have a customer. These are the reasons why I only give this place 4 stars. read more

Years ago, I went here to get my haircut since I didn't know anywhere else to get it at a cheap price. I'm Asian and there's only one long-haired Asian girl working. Guess who Mario chose to cut my hair? Obviously you know what the answer is. I was a teenager at that time so I didn't care. Anyway, after she was done with her asian client, Mario had to tell her more than twice to come cut my hair. She kept talking and laughing with her client and didn't want to bring me to her seat. At this point I hated her. I hated her even more because she was literally scraping my skull off with her comb. She was combing so fast and hard that my head kept going side to side; and if I forced myself to hold my head in one position, I felt like she was going to pull off my hair. After she was detangled my hair, she still kept combing! My head was sore as hell! She never spoke to me, never smiled, no eye contact, aggressive, gave me hard looks, never said goodbye, just wanted my money and shoo me away. She is, by far, the worst hair stylist ever. If I knew better back then, I would've complained loud and clear. read more
