We went to Neighborhood Services on a Saturday evening. We called ahead, they told us about a 30‑minute wait, and honestly everything started out fine. We got there, waited maybe two or three extra minutes, the place was packed, the vibe seemed normal. None of us had been there before, we heard things, but nothing crazy, no big expectations. From the beginning, though, we probably should have known how the night was going to go. One guy came over to give us water, so we told him it was our first time. Then another guy came over, turns out he was actually our server, and he had no idea it was our first time. He mentioned a fish dish I fell in love with right away, except I dislike squash. I asked if he could sub that to asparagus. He had to go to the kitchen to find that out. I was smiling, a place like this and servers have no idea how the dish is prepared. He comes back and tells me yes, they can do it and asked me what kind of asparagus I like, coz they have different options. I told him what, he took everyone else's order and left. Appetizers were good. 6 oysters for $24, I was hoping for nice fat ones, about half of them was, the other half...barely anything in the shell. Our server cleared the table, set out new forks, knives, all that. Food comes out... and my orzo under the fish has zero asparagus. Just okra. So I look at the server and say, "Hey, I don't see any asparagus." He looks at me like I'm speaking another language. I remind him that he literally asked me what kind of asparagus I wanted in my orzo. Then he starts rambling, "I thought this, I thought that, blah blah blah." I finally told him, "Listen, I want asparagus. Please just get it done." And THEN (this is where it gets wild) I reach for my fork, and it is filthy. Not like a little spot. I mean filthy. My family member's fork too. So I wait a couple minutes thinking our server will come back. He doesn't. I flag down another guy (bald, middle-aged) and ask him to switch our forks coz they are dirty. He says, "It's okay, I see why you need new ones" while walking away. Comes back with new forks but with an attitude. I look at him and say, "You did not just say 'it's okay,' right?" Because what part of eating with a dirty fork is okay? Which part of dropping dirty silverware on a table is okay? The way he talked to me... I was honestly blown away. Our server still never came back to check on us. Eventually a lady in a black shirt comes over with the asparagus (halfway through eating) and says it's on the house. She apologizes for the confusion. I ask her if she's the manager. She says yes. So I tell her everything: the unprofessional attitude, the confusion, the lack of menu knowledge, the dirty forks, the whole vibe. I told her this is our first time here and probably the last, because this place is pricey and the service does not match the cost. She apologized again. Our server finally reappears to clear plates, saying he's sorry, he didn't know, blah blah. I told him, "Let's just move on. We're here to have a good time." Manager sent out dessert, nice touch. But then the server brings the bill and... they tried to charge us for the dessert. So once again I had to wait for him to come back and ask him why we were charged. He tries to show me a discount on the bill, and I'm like, "Yes, that's for the asparagus. Not the dessert." Zero common sense. He had to go back again to fix it. Honestly, I'm being super nice giving them two stars. The extra star is only because the food itself was good. But it doesn't matter, the experience was terrible. We came with family visiting from out of town, trying to celebrate, and left with a bad taste in our mouths. They did not go above and beyond, not even after the issues. I've dined here three times so far and have had a great experience at the Addison location. It's a cute restaurant, tucked away in the business of the plaza so you might miss it if you're not looking for it. Last night, the staff was exceptional! From the hostesses to Dave our server. I have to take my hat off to Carlos one of theeeee BEST bartenders I've ever experienced!! Always kind and accommodating, making every guest feel like family. We weren't too hungry last night so we had appetizers. The crab dip and crab cake, garlic bread and voodoo sauce, trust me you must try it! She was informative and helpful throughout our dining experience. For starters, we tried the deviled eggs and the crab dip, both of which were delicious. For mains, we ordered a mix of the big salads, daily plates and the main plates. The prime rib and chicken piccata were the standouts, but everything was quite tasty. The base of crisp lettuce is bright and clean balanced with the creamy chunk of avocado and juicy cherry tomatoes. The star is the pristine, cold, and finely chopped seafood--likely a mix of ahi, shrimp and crab--that tastes incredibly fresh and the crab is deliciously sweet. If the salad is a bright, sunny day, the meatball appetizer is a warm, comforting hug. This is elevated comfort food at its absolute best. Came to celebrate my brother's birthday and I am so glad we chose this spot for our experience! We had fun looking at all the little trinkets that they had in the bookshelf by the fully stocked bar. It's definitely a nice restaurant, with most people dressed up! I loved our server who really helped us make our decisions the tonight. We started off with sharing the crab dip and the meatballs and let me tell you - we almost licked our plates clean. The sauce that the meatballs come in is phenomenal and the flavors of the cheesy crab dip melded so well together. I had ordered halibut fish dish with sweet potato purée and this was the best fish I've ever had in my life. The nutty crust on top really elevated the dish and I usually hate sweet potatoes, but this purée was to die for. My mouth is literally watering as I'm writing this review thinking about it. I think my brother's steak was done perfectly and very seasoned, a little salty for my taste, but he really enjoyed it! We ended off the night with a date-bread pudding dessert and all of us were so happy with our decision. Everything we had was so so soooo good! We ordered the Bay of Fundy salmon, which was a generous portion cooked to perfection. The light crispiness of the Sole Milanese was just enough texture to go with the flakiness of the fish and beurre blanc, I wiped my plate pretty much clean. We also really enjoyed that dip that came with the asparagus because it didn't feel heavy at all. The roasted brussels were one of the best I've had because the bacon was crisp and not soggy. The sauce wasn't too sweet for me, I enjoyed it very much. Our waitress Fi Fi was also great and always knew when to check up on us and kept our drinks full! We came pretty early, around 6, so when we were sat at one of the corner tall tables, we thought it was a little bit away from everyone else until the restaurant filled up in no time and it was energetic and bustling. I met a friend for lunch to celebrate her belated and my early birthday, upon her recommendation we met at Neighborhood Services. I thought the name was a little odd, so I looked them up online and got a little more excited about our lunch date. The interior decor can best be described as cozy with masculine touches, with lots of dark woods, warm lighting and dark upholstery for the booths and seating which I feel would make a really good date spot so I'll definitely be back with my husband. Since we were meeting for lunch we decided to go a little light since I had to go back to the office so we started with the fried asparagus appetizer. It was tempura fried asparagus so the batter was super light and crispy and the most delicious, tangy, lemon aioli. Then we both got the burger of the day which was called A Better Knockoff and it's basically a double cheeseburger with sauteed onions and their Voodoo sauce on a toasted brioche bun. The burger patties were perfectly cooked to medium well and wonderfully seasoned, which is such a huge, missed opportunity for so many burger places I've been to. Even though this burger didn't come with lots of bells and whistles, the simplicity of the really good, quality meat and other ingredients was all it needed for perfect burger deliciousness. The voodoo sauce it came with was savory and very lightly sweet, I tasted a bit of Worcestershire and a slight creaminess so it could have been mayo based but whatever it was, it worked super well on this burger. The burger also includes tons of fries and I prefer ranch dressing to catch up and believe me when I tell you, they are ranch dressing is nothing to sleep on. read more

It's a lot smaller then Town Hearth and it doesn't have a huge fish tank, but it's still nice inside. Service-Excellent. We sat at the bar and the guys behind the counter were exceptional. They made great drinks and knew the menu very well. Food-Exceptional! Foodies could go crazy here. The apps were super favorable, and affordable, but the entree simply took the prize. Crispy asparagus- very good. Not overly battered and sprinkled with Parmesan cheese. Butcher's Meatballs-good size and well seasoned. Steak Frites-amazing! We randomly stopped by Neighborhood Services on a Thursday late afternoon and were greeted right away by a super friendly hostess. We chose to sit outside since it was golden hour, and the ambiance was perfect. To start, we ordered the Red Sea-Salted Russet Frites and the Butcher's Meatballs. The meatball sauce was so good that we ended up dunking our fries in it--it was that flavorful! I had heard great things about the Thursday-only pot pie, so I had to try it, and it definitely lived up to the hype. The chicken and vegetables were cooked to perfection, with a flaky, golden crust. I'm familiar with most of Dallas' nice restaurants and this one does not live up to its expectations. The crab dip was a small portion served with canned salsa on end side. Odd pairing and the crab dip was not great. The fish and chips was so unappetizing, just a mound of overly battered fish and wilted, soggy fries. It was just a pile of brown. Complete miss for the price. The salmon itself was seasoned and cooked well, but it was served with watery canned tomorrows, this gross and bland and completely flavorless mashed up cauliflower along with an undressed little arugula salad. I mean seriously the sides were pathetic. For the price and ambiance of the restaurant you would be expecting a 5 star experience or at least a 4 star. The only thing I can say is the drinks were good. There are much better restaurants in Dallas for that same price category. I would have rather gone to a "mid-tier" restaurant cause at least you know what you're getting. Just another restaurant trying to be upscale and failing to deliver.
