Last night we finally tried Andiamo Italian Grill after passing by it so many times, and I'm so glad we did. It's a family-owned Italian restaurant, and you can truly feel that warm, welcoming atmosphere from the moment you walk in. The staff was friendly, attentive, and everything felt clean and well taken care of. We started with the baked clams, which were prepared almost like escargot so flavorful and delicious. Then we had the carpaccio, which was super fresh and very well done. We tried the Caesar salad was fresh & tasty. For my main dish, I ordered the cartoccio, served wrapped in foil with pasta and mushrooms... and wow, it was incredible. So rich, so flavorful definitely a must-try. My boyfriend had the Siciliana with Alfredo pasta, and it was perfectly seasoned and very tasty. We also enjoyed a dirty martini to start (perfectly made), and ended up having a few bottles of wine their wine selection is extensive, and you can tell they really know what they're offering. One thing we loved was that the owners personally go table to table to check on guests. That personal touch really makes a difference. Overall, such a great experience. I can't count the number of times I've driven by Andiamo's and thought about giving it a try. Today was the day with a party of 3 celebrating an anniversity. Despite good food, however, I cannot recommend as this was a poor performance for a more upscale restaurant. Starting with the food, bread was brought to the table with packets of butter such as you would find a a diner rather than a tub which I thought was strange for a place with these prices. A calamari appetizer was very good with a scattering of jalapeno slices thrown in. The squid was properly cooked and tender rather than chewy. Drinks were good including an Italian Margareta and old fashion. Served in interesting glasses but with indifferent garnishes. I can't comment on the wine selection as we really never had a chance to order a bottle. My veal prosciutto was excellent with artichoke hearts and a pasta side. My wife was very impressed with the Cod Andiamo and veal piccata was equally good. Did not order desserts as we seldom saw our waiter. And thereby lies the problem. We waited 15 minutes before being greeted by our waiter. After apps were delivered we did not see him again for quite a while. He rushed off after taking our order so never had a chance to order wine. My gold standard for this level of Italian is Kenny's nearby and, although the food was good, the overall experience fell far short of expectations. Perhaps they were short staffed but I'm reluctant to give them a second chance. Kenny's is less expensive, equal or better food, reasonable wine and drink prices and great service. Went there for my birthday and it was amazing. The food was delicious, the ambience was perfect, and the service was excellent. I have been to this restaurant three times. Most recently I came with a large group, 12 people. We had a reservation. We were sat at our table pretty quickly upon arrival. We ordered the calamari and bruschetta for appetizers. Both dishes are excellent. For my meal, I ordered spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs are one of their specialty dishes. This too was very delicious. The owners are incredibly approachable, kind, and love to come by and visit your table. I will come to this place many more times even though I don't live close. The jury is still out on this one. I want to love this place, but our first visit here was a mix. Most of what we had was very good, but major pitfalls in the service and some inconsistencies in the caliber of food leave me wondering... I've driven by this place about 100 times and finally decided to give it a while. From the outside the facade is pretty generic. Inside however, it's a small space but still packs a big punch with creating a nice atmosphere. There is a nice green wall with a slick neon sign right past the smallest vestibule I think I've ever seen. The bar is painted a sophisticated dark blue and there are chic gold table lamps on the table tops that add to the ambiance. Our server seemed scatterbrained and not focused. There were times we were questioning whether our food was even coming out. He forgot our drinks- 2 Cokes, and had to be asked if they were coming out. We ordered bruschetta as an appetizer. We had specifically ordered it without onions, but when it came out- it had onions, so that was an even longer wait than anticipated. I was saving room for dessert, so I went with Lobster Bisque, and my husband had the Pasta Di Mare. The Lobster Bisque was fine, but I've had better. The Pasta Fettuccine di Mare was absolutely amazing! If this place is capable of delivering such a stellar dish, I feel compelled to give them another try for other things. I had the key lime pie for dessert. It was pretty overpriced for what I got, and felt that the taste just didn't wow me in any way. I didn't like the texture of the pie itself (I detected coconut perhaps) and I really just wanted a velvety smooth Key Lime Pie. Overall, dining here had more ups than downs, but the consistency varied from dish to dish. Also the service being pretty spotty- I would hope the next visit, we get someone with their head a bit more focused on providing a more attentive posture. read more

Andiamo's has a pleasant atmosphere, the service is above average, and the menu is varied. But it has one standout achievement that sets it above all other Italian restaurants in the greater DFW area. It has a genuine, proper linguine carbonara. They don't just use Alfredo sauce with bacon; their whole dish starts differently. They add peas, pancetta, and an egg on top. It is excellent. Went here for a date, and was surprised upon walking through the door. This place is easy to miss when passing by on Beltline, in fact I have driven down many a time and have NEVER noticed it. So when my date mentioned it, not going to lie I was a bit unsure of the choice. However upon walking in it's definitely more of a intimate family business style place, not a trendy place like you're going to find in Dallas. However the food and staff made up for it. Although I wasn't a fan of our particular server, as she was young and didn't seem to really care and wasn't on top of things really. Overall I feel that the staff was very friendly staff, we had multiple people including one of the owners stop by our table and ask how things were and make sure all was good. We got a bottle of Tempranillo wine which was amazing called Celeste. I ordered the rigatoni burrata per recommendation from the server, and added italian sausage to it, which to be honest the sauce was good but the dish as a whole fell a little flat for me. It was too much cheese and not enough pasta to go with the cheese and sausage mix. I wish I had gotten one of the mushroom raviolis which was what I was debating between. My date got the baked ziti with filet mignon as his added meat which he said was amazing. Cleaned his plate right off. I tried some of the steak and it was tender and juicy, and I'm not even a steak person. Overall I think the restaurant is a great date night or place for you to celebrate if you want an intimate atmosphere, I just wasn't impressed by my dish which is why there is a lack of stars. Andiamos is an Italian restaurant with friendly owners and excellent service. The old Andiamos had a more Italian focused ambience and decor I thought. I didn't really get the middle eastern music and decor. They have a new lunch menu, which has reasonable prices I thought and a wide variety. Our food was fine, but not great. I was disappointed with the Bruschetta; the bread was toasted and hard like a crouton and the tomatoes were screaming for salt (none on the table either). The side house Italian salad that comes with the entrees was a disappointment. It needed salt and pepper and the Italian dressing tasted store-bought quite honestly. The original Andiamos had an amazing and unique side Andiamo salad, but that did not survive the new ownership apparently and neither did my other favorite entrées from the original Andiamo. The chicken Marsala was ok; although disappointing Marsala sauce, but flavorful chicken and mixed vegetables. The highlight was there mozzarella and tomato sandwich on homemade bread. It got rave reviews from my daughter. Their special cappuccino is also worth a try for sure. read more

Post Valentine date with the husband. He picked the place, have to say I was worried since that's my job. He hit out the park! Super romantic and sweet. Had the Chicken piccata, was so light and perfect that I had to have their amazing cheesecake to be full. Husband had the salmon and I actually had some and I don't like salmon but I would eat that anytime. Sayra our waitress was funny, knowledgeable about the menu and her recommendation did not fail. More like 3.5/5: This is my second time here but it was a bit of a miss? The restaurant is still lovely by all means and I'm still coming back here. This is just purely an update based on this experience of the service and food. Server was the sweetest but she only checked in on us once throughout the meal. We were lucky not to have needed anything. The restaurant wasn't super super busy on a Friday evening, but there was a handful of tables. We were given the house bread and butter last time but didn't receive any this time around. Bruschetta was great! It was fresh, nicely balanced and flavorful. Pasta dish was good but the pasta itself seemed like the kind out of the box? I'm not entirely sure if they claim to make pasta in house but if they do, this one was not up to par. The sausages in the dish were my favorite overall. Wasn't expecting much of the salmon at an Italian place but it wasn't seasoned very well and that could've been the bare minimum. Asparagus was definitely just over blanched in the water and also no seasoning. I'm hoping the next visit is more consistent in service and what was served the first time I was here!
