Holy cow! These are seriously delicious large donuts. My coworker brought in an assorted box and it was super hard to make up my mind because they all looked so good. I'm a sucker for jelly/filled donuts, so I went for a blueberry crumb donut and did not regret my decision. The donut was dipped in glaze and topped with lemon crumb. Amazing! Despite there been more donuts left, I was stuffed. So, if you're trying to decide, choose wisely because one donut is enough to keep you full for a while.

These are just really fantastic. My boss brings in 3 dozen of these bad boys (donuts) to our staff lounge every Friday morning. Always look forward to which one I'll be trying each week. Their french crullers are light, airy and perfectly glazed - my favorite. Those powdered jelly filled ones on the other hand will be a heavy bomb to your body and will leave you full all day. Regardless, they are the best around!

Neil's Donuts OG location is bright and welcoming with lots of friendly faces! Go early and know what you want because it gets busy inside. The whole family loves the donuts, definitely worth the drive every time.

Definitely worth the hype! Walked in and the line was almost out the door, but that didn't stop the staff from being quick but friendly with getting their customers situated. I purchased a dozen of donuts of various flavors and honestly it was a great price 17.45. Mind you I even got a few filled donuts such as the key lime and apple filled. No seating in Neil's however that does not take away from how great Neil's Donuts is! Wish I was closer!

Neil's Donuts is an absolute gem! We unfortunately live out of state but if we lived nearby we'd be here all the time. The selection is huge with donuts, breakfast sandwiches, muffins and coffee, and while the lines can be long, they move quickly. Pro tip: check out the menu online ahead of time so you're ready to order. The staff is fantastic--friendly, patient, and efficient, even with the crowd. The donuts themselves are out of this world. My favorite was the honey dipped, while my husband loved the blueberry crumble. Their filled donuts are especially impressive--split in half and packed with a generous amount of filling. Every bite just melts in your mouth. If you're anywhere near Neil's, don't pass this place up. It's worth the trip!

All I can say is "Next!" If you are a sinfeld fan you will know. But I'm all honesty what a great place. Even though you move through the line at the speed of lightning you are treated with respect. Friendly staff, great prices and delicious donuts. You have to be crazy to drive by. It is worth a day trip.

2.2.25 This is one of those long overdue & well deserved reviews. I was here on election day 11.3.20 to try them for the first time. They did not disappoint at all. I was here a half hour before they closed and they were still very fresh. They were just about sold out but the slim pickings were fresh. The staff was very pleasant. This place started picking up and they were about to close. I was surprised to see this. I tried a few different donuts. The apple filled, apple crumb that was also apple filled, powdered jelly & boston cream. All of the donuts were filled plenty with their respective filings which was a delight to see for a change. Fresh, light & fluffy. Quality ingredients. The closer I looked, these donuts look like sandwich. Each that I studied looked like a sandwich filled with yummy goodness. It looks like they construct it as a sandwich which is kind of cool & different. The look of the place inside and out is a no frills plain generic look to it. Nothing wrong with that at all. Just saying. I don't need a place to look good. I only need a clean establishment with great food. I've been back here too many times to count since my first endeavor on an epic election day in 2020. They're doing everything right here. No problems at all. They keep you coming back for more.

stopped at Neil's Donuts before work this morning and i can't believe how busy it was so early in the morning! The staff is so quick and efficient and the whole place smells like sweets galore (as it should). Not only are the donuts are amazing, but all the donuts are packed with flavors and their toppings and yet so light and fluffy! And only $2 a donut? Most places would charge almost $4 for these types of donuts! Wherever you are in Connecticut, it is truly worth the trip!

I try not to go to Neil's too often because their so damn good! When you do go you better get their bright and early because their donuts fly off the shelves. This place is AMAZING!!!! I havent had anything bad here!!! Every time we have family in town, we get Neil's and they rave. We've got it for my husbands work a few times too and all the workers love it. The donuts are so soft and taste so delicious! I love the regular glazed it's perfection! My husband loves the boston cream and our girls love he chocolate sprinkles, but all are delicious. We always grab a bacon egg and cheese bagel and a sausage egg and cheese bagel. Both are amazing! I think they make their own bagels. The sandwich is great!!! We've got bread and cookies here before and both are great too. We only live about 15 mins away so it's easy to drop by especially on weekends for these amazing donuts. They will not disappoint. I've never been there where the line wasn't coming out the door or lo full of cars. Prices are right there with Dunkin or a grocery store price, so normal pricing. Make sure to be ready to yell over others your order as hey have like 5 people taking orders at once, Amazing!!!! read more

The biggest mistake I made was picking up Neil's donuts for the office. Now for any event I get the call to bring in donuts. These are very good donuts and well worth the effort to get them. The giant coffee rolls are impressive. They are now the official Birthday Donut. These donuts are fresh and made from good ingredients. They are not going to sit around and keep. You need to eat them, typically that is not a problem. The place is small and it gets very busy. So, I would not plan on eating there. Only note, I thought Neil's was cash only. But I noticed that the main review page says they accept credit cards. read more

My parents live around the corner from Neil's and it's probably a good thing I no longer live so close because these donuts are just that good... The Cinnamon Sugar Donuts when they are fresh are to DIE for... but also amazing Bavarian and Boston Creams as well as Jelly. And the fillings? They don't just squirt a little filling inside, they cut each donut in half and put a huge dollop of cream or jelly before putting them back together. You know when you have a cream or jelly filled donut and there are parts with no filling? Not here! Neil's has ruined me for other donuts. If you love donut's you need to go to Neil's. read more

Love this local bakery. The donut portion is huge and the staff is so friendly and efficient. Although you can find a line out the door on most days, they get you through pretty quickly. The breakfast sandwiches are also pretty good. Can't go wrong with Neil's! read more

AMAZING! OUTSTANDING! THE BEST! Generally, I don't even like donuts that much, but I LOVE Neil's Donuts. They are so light and airy that you can easily eat three + without that gross nasty bloated feeling that you get from eating other donuts. They are DELICIOUS. I have to keep this trend going of 5 stars for a steal of a find. Just off the beaten path we headed in, based on yelp reviews and we were not disappointed. We each got egg sandwiches that were made to order and delicious. The cinnamon doughnut, even eaten two hours later was perfectly seasoned and light and yum. I got the chocolate nut coffee and the chocolate undertones were just right. Their options are really endless! Do many coffees and doughnuts and cookies, muffins, oh my. It seemed like most other visitors were locals who knew exactly what they wanted. We weren't that familiar and service seemed a bit gruff, but not unfriendly at all. Just in a hurry to help manage the line extending out the door. I would definitely go back!! read more

I have no idea where to start... I have been going to Neil's close to 2 years and I am proud to say this is the best donut shop in America. Sorry for being a little biased but it surely is the best donut shop on the East Coast. I am originally from Long Island, New York and I have had some tasty donuts from New York City and even Boston, but NOTHING COMPARES to Neil's donut and bake shop. It has taken me so long to give a Yelp review, yet they are the reason I joined Yelp in the first place! ; let everyone know how amazing these donuts are. I have tried almost every donut Neil's offers to the public and I have never and I mean ever had a bad bite of any donut in this establishment. Each donut features detail oriented texture, the finest fillings, and most importantly taken care of with Love. The service by all the young men and women is lightning fast and impeccable. If you ever go to Neil's wanting one donut, you will surely walk out with a half dozen which I have done numerous times. The highlights for myself are the Boston Creme, Powdered Jelly, and Birthday Cake. The pastry's are unbelievable as well! The coffee is delicious given there seasonal flavor options which I highly recommend! I can't wait till the fall again for pumpkin spice! Weather you live locally or you are on a long road trip, if you pass by Neil's please do yourself a favor and try your favorite type of donut. They are all a gift from god. If there is any place to get donuts, it's Neil's Donuts! There's always fresh donuts, and the flavor variety is awesome! I personally love Boston cream donuts and I won't go anywhere else for one. The fruit filled donuts are my second favorite. My family used to drive an hour from the cottage we rented in the summers just for a box of Neil's Donuts, and they never lasted long! An explanation of the location might be helpful one day as it is a small place but the donuts make it worth it! read more

Neils is a staple in Wallingford! Things are even better now that he makes the egg sandwiches fresh. The staff is quick and friendly. The glazed donuts literally melt in your mouth! I find the prices to be reasonable as well. read more

Awesome place! The hubby & I go here for bagels & coffee rolls on weekends. The coffee rolls are huge, fluffy & perfectly sweetened. The bagels are also quite large & the ones with toppings(i.e.-sesame seeds, everything,garlic) do not lack in the amount of toppings covering the bagel. It gets very crowded in this little store, but the lines move quickly, thanks to the amount of employees that work at this location. Everyone should give this place a try. Come hungry because everything they have to offer is large & delicious! read more

By far, the best donuts I've ever had!!!! The coffee there is great, too. And I don't know if they make them on the premises, but I've never had a better cannoli! Ok. So Neil contacted me following my review (which was negative following a visit). Neil took the time to ask what exactly was wrong and offered to not only give me a complimentary doughnut, but also conduct a weight test between his product and DD's. Given his response, I was compelled to give Neil's a second chance. Today, I went to DD and Neil's and bought one Boston Creme from each (I didn't ID my self to anyone at Neil's because o wanted to check for myself). I have to admit, for just a few more pennies, Neil's was far better in size and taste. Neil's had far more cream in his doughnut than DD had in its product. Based on today's experience (and the recommendations from friends) I am sold on Neil's. My first visit? Likely an off day (as we all have). Bottom line, I will indeed go back to Neil's for my doughnuts. read more

Better Donuts you will not find....they actually cut the donut and fill them so the filling goes all the way through and you get some in every bite - fantastic! So many variations you have to go over and over again to taste them all. Always fresh, baked on site & worth waiting in line for. The coffee is also wonderful. I drink decaf and it is very difficult to find a flavored decaf that comes from ground beans and not flavor shots. Neil's has a fantastic Hazelnut/Vanilla Decaf that is just delightful. I should note.....i dont like donuts, i haven't liked donuts in years. I guess it was the 5 years at various dunkins that made me get tired of donuts. That being said, Neil's donuts are out of this world! I don't know why or what he does but i could eat his donuts all day. They are fresh, they aren't hard or plastic tasting.
